That’s right! You don’t wait for trouble to come to you, you go out and head it off at the pass. Or something.

With this in mind, you trot back down the steps and find yourself back before the three passageways. The left passage continues downwards, the middle passage goes back up to the Observatory, and the right passage appears to lead straight on.
