After fleeing the scene of the crime, you find yourself back in the hall. Your Cartographer’s Cap and its +5 sense of direction enables you to look offscreen and realize that there was a third passage there all along.

The leftmost passage leads downwards, where you’ve just come from. The middle passage appears to lead upwards. The rightmost passage appears to lead straight on.
