A brief Q&A from fans of Fallout Equestria Project Horizons and musicians who participated in this album: Aoshi: Did you ever think Blackjack would become so iconic to the community given her personality? What do you make of her success? Somber: Not at all. I hoped she'd be an interesting and engaging character, but she resonates with readers far more than I ever expected. I think it's because she doesn't give up, even when she has so many reasons to. She's been hurt. She's been frustrated. She's lost more of herself than anypony. She still pushes on. Swedish Horse Mafia: What about Bronycon are you most excited about? Somber: Meeting readers. Honestly, nothing cures a case of the blahs than meeting them. The only thing that might possibly be better would be being on a panel. I'm a teacher; I love addressing an audience... taZe: What inspired you to make a MLP crossover of the Fallout games? Somber: Well, I can tell you why I wrote ponyfics at all. It was at the end of season one, and I was incredibly depressed. Watching the show gave me story ideas and I decided, 'what the hay, if they suck, it's just fan fiction'. What I didn't expect is that it would matter so many to others, and in turn, to me. DigitalVagrant: What do you plan to do after Project Horizons? Somber: Goooood question. Part of me want to write something original, because then I might be able to quit flopping from failed job to failed job. Part of me wants to write more MLP stories. And I do have some other FoE stories as well. So a better question is what do you think I should do? Worst answer I can think of is nothing. Wr3nch: In hindsight, is there anything you feel you might have done differently to improve the story? Somber: Tons. Horizons was hugely educational. Less references to pop culture. I would have tried to chunk the story more into coherent mini stories rather than one huge slog. I probably would have set it after FoE to avoid the affects of the Goddess and Cauterize, not that I'm ashamed of them, but it added a lot of text that didn't apply to Horizons. I would have been more careful with Goldenblood, and probably split his actions up amid a second or third conspirator so he was more plausible. Zpony: Have you ever had second thoughts regarding some of his more extensive anime references/homages included in the story? Somber: Yes. They were frequently a result of 'cool idea, but inappropriate.' Often they were put in to liven things up and lighten the mood. I think I used some of them so heavily that it detracted from the story. Evdog: What... is your favourite colour? Somber: Red. No, white! AIEEEEEEEEE!!!! Ty Trance: Why the torture to Blackjack? Somber: It's certainly not because I love it. In chapter seven, Blackjack asks the question 'what is the price I must pay?'. The rest of the story is her paying the price for doing what she is trying to do. It's the price anyone pays when they try and change big things. And in the end, the question is asked 'Was it worth it?' Reverbrony: What is your favorite pony from your stories? Somber: Blackjack. And Stronghoof. And Stygius. And Glory. And Charity... Ponytronic: Has there been anyone deciding to make your story into a game? Somber: I there have been folks looking to do so. I wish them luck. It's not the kind of story that translates to a game well. But turning the Hoof into a game setting should be manageable. Ponytronic: How long do you plan to keep writing about your stories of Fallout Equestria? Somber: Till I'm finished. ::Smile:: One way or another.
