"Orchid, I have a present!"
>You reach into your lunchbox and root around while the kaiju watches, mystified.
>"Is it chips?"
"Better."
>Her eyes glow with enthusiasm as you bring something out of the box.
"Tada!"
>She squints at it and cocks her head to the side.
>"What is that?"
>You hold it up higher and she scrunches her face in confusion.
"Can you see what it is?"
>She inhales sharply as you uncurl your fingers around the object and display it in the palm of your hand.
>"It's a teeny tiny puppy!"
"What? No, it's a toy."
>She frowns and furtively looks away for a moment.
>"It's a kaiju action figure."
>That was oddly specific.
>She catches the face you made for a second and explains.
>"Daddy collected them in the lab."
"Uh, huh."
>You grunt and hold it as far up as you can.
"But it's not just any! Look who it is!"
>She stares at it for a few moments before she adopts a nervous, almost panicky expression.
>"Who? Are there new kaiju?"
"No, it's you!"
>Her jaw drops.
>You want to ask how she doesn't recognize herself but there is a total and utter lack of large mirrors in the kaiju chamber.
>If it was all the same, she hung on the mere idea that she had an action figure.
>"I... why?"
"You're famous!"
>"I-I am?!"
>You failed to note that the toy was just labeled "Tame Training Kaiju," and like its living, larger self, mostly served to act as something for jaegers to beat up.
>The monsterhorse stammered, suddenly much more energetic.
>"I'm... so...so... happy!"
>She lurches in a hop, driving a wave of water.
>Being behind the SPLASH ZONE sign did not help.
