You had the movies selected and the snacks ready before your little pony friend had managed to understand what was going on. Starlight Glimmer watched from her perched seat atop the sofa as you made sure things were set in place ahead of time. The look on the purple pony's face was adorable as her cute schwoop wiggled from every turn of her head. “What are you getting ready for?” she finally asked, leaning in just a hair to try and see the movie case. When you announce you're getting ready for a movie night, Glimmer seemed elated. Her tail swished along the cushions as she let you continue along, rather happy you made some time for her. It wasn't until you mentioned it would be horror movies that she looked a bit uneasy at the idea. Perhaps horror flicks might not be her thing. “Are you sure this is the type of genre you want to watch?” she asked, her lilac eyes lowering while she thought about the idea. It did seem a bit out of the blue to spring such a moment on her, especially when it looked as if she might not be a fan of horror titles. Or perhaps she was, just a little uneasy with them alone? You weren't quite sure, but you did want to spend some time with her for the night. When you suggested another genre, Glimmer shook her head and smiled. “No, no. I want to watch what you do. I just haven't had too much experience with horror,” she admits, lowering her ears. “I do like it. Just never got around to really diving into it a whole lot.” You think about it for a moment and remember something rather special. Starlight had a little friend, didn't she? One that did seem rather sure of herself, but still extremely cute. You must have let your idea shine through as the unicorn tilted her head in confusion at you. “What?” she inquired, tilting her head the other way. Without a word, you gently lay a finger to her snootle and give the gentlest of boops before heading out of the room. You'd have to hurry if you wanted the plan to succeed. Phone in hand, you begin calling and explain the situation, wondering if Glimmer can enjoy a little extra company. Thankfully, the request was more than easy to fulfill as you hardly had a chance to hang up before the call ended. The next thing to do would be to wait. Walking into the living room, your unicorn was found leaning over and examining the movie case as her hoof lightly tilted it this way and that. Her eyes squinted as her tongue slipped out from the side of her muzzle in an attempt to read the synopsis. Watching her was a gift all on its own. Her gaze lingered on the plastic case while she lightly pawed at the thing to draw it closer. You had to mention to her that using magic for everything wouldn't always benefit her. She seemed to be taking it to heart. Your presence must have startled her soon after. A shift in your weight made the smallest of sounds as Glimmer let out a sharp gasp and backpedaled into sofa with a glance in all directions. You hurried over and gave the small mare a soft hug, assuring her it's okay. She must have been really into what she read on that movie casing to get a jump like that. Petting her mane, she relaxed slowly into your hold while letting out a soft sigh. Her head nuzzled against your chest while she let her ears flick from every small touch. Your apology for scaring her seemed to be taken well as she put her forelegs around you as best as she could for a hug on her own. “You didn't mean to. I'm fine,” the purple pony assured you with a nod. Her little nose inched in and gave your chest a small boop of her own as she giggled lightly and looked up to you. It was nice to have company like her around. Always eased any stress by simply letting her settle in with you or petting her mane. You never would have guessed a pony like her would have made you so happy, yet here you are. The look in her lovely eyes told you that she felt the same. The soft twinkling in them said how much she enjoyed having you around and that she was grateful you were the one that has her. Without a second thought, her hind legs lifted her up just enough to press her soft little snout to your chin. A kiss. So light and delicate. You smile to her and give one of her ears a soft rub as she leans in against you. It almost looked as if she had the tint of a blush beneath that coat of hers. Not one to tease her for it, you keep up the gentle massage along her ear before switching to the other, listening to her soft coos into your neck. It was hard to go a day without seeing her. One of those soft hooves moved up and gave rest at your arm lightly. The purple unicorn smiled as she leaned back and let herself carefully settle down on the cushion once again. Giving her back a small rub made her lift slightly before she let her tail swish from side to side. You probably could have stayed like that for the night had it not been for the doorbell. With one eyebrow raised, Glimmer looked to the door as she stayed in her spot while you got up. You knew what to expect, but it was fun to surprise your pony once in a while. It was a bit of a surprise to you of the amount of time that had passed since the call. That was awfully quick. Upon opening the door there sat another pony. The cape and hat may have been unnecessary, but it did look pretty cute. The blue unicorn gave you a simple one over with her eyes before she stood and casually strode in as if she owned the place. “Human,” she greeted as she passed, intentionally letting her side brush against your leg for a moment. When you closed the door, you noticed Glimmer's friend sauntering into the living room almost as if she knew exactly where to find her. You did know that she liked that couch a lot, so Trixie possibly knew the same. “Oh! Trixie!” Glimmer announced, hopping down off her cozy perch. “The one and only~” Trixie replied, almost trying to strike a pose before smiling wide. The exchanged pleasantries as you walked around, letting them talk and catch up a bit. It was pretty cute seeing them hug and even roll around to play for a bit. Every time that hat got knock off there was one of them using magic to fit it snugly back on that blue pony's head. It was sweet to see them care for each other in the smallest ways. After a while, they did seem to settle down as they began to take in what was happening for the night. Starlight, your little Glim Glam, told Trixie all she could to catch her up on the current situation before they both sat near your feet and looked to you. Well, seemed the next move was on you. “Trixie doesn't enjoy horror movies,” the caped pony stated as she stayed near Glimmer. “I will still watch, though. They must be better with friends.” You could almost see an endearing smile from the purple unicorn before they both moved around to the couch and hopped up. Well, almost. Trixie made it half-way as her hind legs kicked at the sofa before a certain friend of hers magically hoisted her backside up the rest of the way. There was a small huff coming from the blue pony before she sat herself down and looked at the coffee table full of treats. “Seems you expected Trixie,” the violet eyed pony expressed, seeming to enjoy speaking about herself in third person. Truth be told, you hadn't expected to even invite her over until a bit ago. When you see her magically pulling up some peanut butter crackers you couldn't help but admit it was a fluke. Regardless, you remained silent about it and let her enjoy the snacks freely. Glimmer eventually took some pretzels herself, almost a little self-conscious about just eating them to her heart's content. When you pet the cautious pony, she smiles up to you and eats the salted treat happily. Must be wary of gorging herself on snack food, you guessed. Still, it was a special night to just enjoy things and she could let one little night slide by if she wished. With the night starting in quick, you decide it best to start up the small marathon of horror flicks to enjoy with two wonderful ponies. Once the disc is in the tray, you can almost feel them tensing up nearby as you sit back down. You hardly have time to tell either of them before the lights dim and click off. It seemed one of them knew scary movies were best enjoyed with the lights out. As the move started up, you pulled over a bowl of snacks as well before starting to munch on them as quietly as possible. You knew you could scare the girls easily but it wouldn't exactly bode well for you after. They had magic and you didn't. Also, it might not be so nice. It's easy to tell that the two mares were a bit uncomfortable but seemed to otherwise be enjoying a different pace of a night. It wasn't as if you had them watch slasher movies every week anyway. The whole aura of the room shifted a bit as the film continued on. The tension was a little heavy and they didn't seem to be calming down anytime soon. It took some proper timing during a calm moment to scoot over and carefully pull Glimmer to the other side of you. Having two ponies on either side was pretty cozy and nice. They seemed a little confused at first until you gently drew them in close to let them have comforting warmth. Trixie fussed a little but quickly settled down as she nestled in and watched. With little Glimmer cuddling much closer, it was clear they both felt a bit safer having you near. During scary moments they would jump or hug closer. The caped unicorn ended up pulling her hat down a few times as well. There seems to be a lot of unease for a bit before you give them both a nice hug and let them lean in some. You're ready to stop the movie if either one appears too upset or requests such. Surprisingly, neither one are intent on quitting the film, even half-way through. “This is just a dumb story,” Trixie comments from behind her hat as the sound of screams fill the room and those blue ears tilt back. You chuckle a bit and rub her mane to calm her as she peeks out from beneath to see what's happening only to slowly pull it back over her eyes. Glimmer looks a bit concerned as she stares at the screen, possibly trying to figure out why humans are beyond dumb in slasher flicks. You wished you had a proper answer to tell her but the only reason was for schlock. The night goes on as you ask the girls if they wish to stop now or watch another. They almost appear unsure before deciding on seeing one more. They wanted to know how there could be another part or if the killer was really dead. You had to ask several times just to make sure since Trixie refused to remove her hat for a moment. Starting up the second movie and the mares cuddled in quickly, resting to your sides. The snacks were being eaten steadily, mostly by the hiding unicorn as she munched beneath or within her hat plenty of times. “I think Trixie's right. The story is a bit odd,” Glimmer says at one point. Her ears tilt back when she witnesses yet another victim shortly after. You do your best to explain some of it to them as they look more at you than the movie during your talk. The two of them ask a few questions about the characters or other parts of the story before continuing to watch the rest. Even the scared mare started watching more than the inside of her hat. There's a brief pause in the action as you lean in to whisper to them that you'd never let anything happen to them. They both stay silent for a bit but cuddle into you more. When you mention you'd keep them safe from a hockey mask wearing killer, Glimmer looks to you and smiles sweetly. Her hoof lightly pat your leg as she leans in and rests along your chest, kissing the bottom of your chin. “Thank you,” she whispers, nuzzling up against you as Trixie lays over your lap to feel a bit safer. While holding the purple mare against you, you use your free hand to pet along Trixie's back despite the cape. Keeping them calm and relaxed was rather easy. Probably due to the fact they knew it was just a movie, but it still felt nice that you were there keeping them more at ease. As the night went on, movies were swapped out here and there as snacks were refreshed a couple of times. Things eventually did have to wind down but that didn't stop you from enjoying your company and the series of flicks. By the end of it all, both unicorns seemed to be enjoying the movies. Whether they just got used to it all or something intrigued them, you didn't know. Hours passed and before you knew it you were having a hard time keeping your eyes open. Trixie had fallen asleep early during the last movie and laid comfortably over your lap. Glimmer was barely keeping herself awake, possibly since she wanted to make sure you got some rest as well. When you leaned your head back you could feel a soft cushion cradling it. It felt so nice. Glimmer smiled gently to you, her horn letting the magic dissipate as she snuggled up under your arm and nuzzled against your shoulder. She had managed to pull a pillow from the bedroom for you to relax against. What a sweetheart. “You can rest,” she assured you, letting her bang tickle your neck as she looked up. “I'll still be here when you wake up~” Those words made you smile as you rubbed her side and kissed her brow, narrowly avoiding her horn. The two of you let the movie play out and the credits roll as you stayed upon the sofa and let sleep take over. Sore or not, waking up in the morning with such cute mares keeping you company would remedy that easily. You don't know what you would do without your Glim Glam.
