Everything was too perfect and too pure not to be. The night had been wonderful with your one and only pony yet it seemed so real. You didn’t want to open your eyes. The sunlight was insistent against the curtains and even managed to find a space to peek in. Conveniently, it also landed across your face so it became just as hard to simply ignore. Why couldn’t you just go back to sleep and rest for the entire day? Just sleep it all away and return back to that wonderful moment you can still remember so vividly. It was almost surreal when you felt a bit of shifting next to you. At first, you felt your heart seize in panic before realizing nobody would be there. It was a stupid notion to think so. Though, if it were the case, then what was the soft weight against your arm? As much as you felt yourself ready to spite the action of opening your eyes, your vision blurred and remained unfocused as you stared up at the bed canopy. When did you get that? Were you still dreaming? No, your sense felt too real for it to be a mere dream. A soft grumble from next to you drew you back from your thoughts and at the matter at hand once more. Your head turned as your groggy state lingered like a hangover. Blurry colors and shapes were slowly taking form but a good rub at your eyes with your free hand seemed to clear it up much faster. Then you saw her. There she was. Just as perfect as you remembered. The stripes in her mane and that lavender coat so beautiful with the rays of the sun highlighting her as a goddess in your eyes. Twilight was still sleeping peacefully against you with a foreleg draped along your stomach and her head laying near your own. Those adorable eyes were still covered and keeping her in the dreams that Luna still spun for her. It was hard to believe it. It felt like a dream from the night before. Was it the fact you were so tired you didn’t remember the details? As much as you did want to know you also seemed to not care. You were there. Twilight was there. That was all that mattered. Daring a stir of her slumber, you lean in and gently kiss to her forehead next to her horn. The silky mane sticks to your lips for a second before falling away as she seems to relax a bit more. You find yourself having a hard time hiding the smile curling up your face. Why fight it? You grin and just admire the sleeping beauty for a while longer, happy to know that things, for once, favor you. Her soft coat caresses your arm at each little movement she gives. Those legs drape against you as she applies the slightest pressure, obviously hugging to the warmth she was near. Twilight’s tail gives a small swish beneath the sheets and the pony keeps resting with you in bed. She must be having quite the dream to be out of it still. Her little breaths tickled at your neck and shoulder some. You could probably watch her for hours if you didn’t have other basic needs. Your stomach wanted to interject with simply laying around and idolizing your alicorn the whole day. The rumbling from your gut was louder than you wished it to be. You saw one of those cute ears flick atop her head in response. She must have heard the growling as well. What a way to wake up your mare, you thought. Instead of letting a second hunger noise sound out, you gently reach up and softly begin to massage along the edge of one those sweet, purple ears. Twilight’s brows raise in her sleep before she gives another precious mumbling noise into your shoulder as her body leans more into you. Not stopping, you work all along her ear in a gentle movement, making sure not to hurt her and just enjoying how soft and warm it was in your hand. Twilight’s eyes eventually try to open, though the lazy attempt showed she must have been just as out of it as you were. Perhaps the ear rubs were also playing a part in that. You kept up your work and greeted the groggy alicorn with a whisper and a smile once those violet eyes finally focused enough to take in your face. A moment of confusion crossed her face before she returned the smile and let out a soft and light laugh. “Hey there, Tiger,” she teased and leaned in to press her nose to your own. You chuckled and shook your head to rub your nose against her own where she took it upon herself to do the same. The little scrunch of her snout made it all the more cute. “You were really out of it last night,” Twilight mentioned, the sleepiness still lingering on her voice but it only made her more adorable with it. Thinking on it, you hardly remember much of the night before other than it felt like a dream. Something almost entirely unreal. The thoughts seemed to weigh in more and must have crossed over your face as Twilight flicked her ear in your hand while tilting her head up. “What’s wrong?” she asked, scooting in closer and blinking away her tiredness. Explaining the situation, you tell her of how your memory of the night prior seems mostly numb and vague. The whole fact is that you weren’t sure if you were still dreaming. “Why’s that?” the cuddly alicorn asked, lifting her head more as you laid your own into the pillow. It was hard to find the right words to explain it all. In the end you couldn’t help but just mention how it all felt so perfect. The head tilt of the pony made you crack a light smile. It was almost like right at that moment. How she’s so perfect and you couldn’t fathom how you ever got her heart. “You’re pretty suave,” the pony teased and snickered lightly as she leaned down to kiss your brow. “I’m hardly perfect. I have my own flaws for sure. Though, I don’t think I’d be as happy as I am without you~” If you hadn’t blushed before you were sure you were after that statement. Maybe she saw the effect as well as her muzzle came down again and offered the gentlest of kisses along your brow and cheek. It was heavenly with how soft they were. Almost to the point of tickling here or there. You did manage to ask what exactly happened last night which eased the loving pony up from her kissing assault. Her eyes almost stared off into a random corner of the room before she let that purple gaze settle back onto you. “Well, you seemed to have been busy a lot lately. You managed to mumble out something about just wanting to sleep and began heading up to our room,” Twilight said as she thought. “You barely made into the door before you began stumbling out of your shoes. So, I may have helped you get into bed. I just wish you didn’t work yourself so hard.” You must have been busier than you remembered. You hardly recall anything, much less actually being with the pony of your dreams. Was it that the stress of everything had made it seem like being back with Twi was too good to be true? She had even mentioned the bed as ‘ours.’ The thought warmed your heart. “I think you’ve been at it a bit too much lately. You should take a break. I know what it’s like to overwork yourself,” she said and leaned in to rest her head over your own and squeeze lightly with her forelegs at your chest. “I don’t want to lose you.” That was hardly a worry for her little head. If anything, you were afraid of losing her. Not a soul could ever come close to matching her own. The worry seemed to have made itself present on your face. “Sshh~” she cooed softly and nestled in against you. “It’s okay,” she promised, letting her muzzle and that cute snout almost tickle at your neck. “I’m not going anywhere either.” Your arm curled up from under the pony, pulling her more to you as her soft body comforted you quickly. Her wings gave light flutters against her and your arm while you began kissing along her head, from one ear to the other. Those giggles sounded out while she gave her own affection in return all along your neck. Small kisses, nibbles, and even a little tease with her lips adorned your skin. The two of you playfully loved on one another for a bit, sneaking kisses, nuzzling to each other, and plenty more. It wasn’t until you both heard the light knocking at the door that it all ceased rather hastily. “Yes?” Twilight spoke out, using her forelegs to hold the sheets up, almost as if she were covering herself. You couldn’t help but smile at the cuteness. “Twi?” Spike’s voice came from the other side of the door before he opened it and peeked in. “Oh, you’re up. Just letting you know a letter came for you from Celestia.” As the small dragon stuck his arm into the room, the rolled parchment stood out from his claws. Twi’s magic daintily plucked it free and hovered it over to the both of you on the bed. Spike, seeing you there as well, gave a happy little wave which you returned before he smiled and shut the door. Twilight’s magic quickly unrolled the letter as she began to read the message upon it. You knew you had caught yourself reading by following your finger once or twice, whether or not it was when you were younger, but seeing the purple mare follow her hoof closely almost made you want to hold it and read with her. Her eyes scanned the piece several times before she smiled and set it aside on the nightstand. “Guess what?!” she said excitedly, her eyes almost sparkling. “Celestia’s taken it upon herself to make sure you get some well deserved rest for the next two weeks!” You had several questions but those quickly slipped away when those forelegs draped over your shoulders and you found yourself getting quite the hug from Twilight. Her head nuzzled up against you with her ear flicking lightly up along your brow some. Her own cheek was soft and you just wanted to lay back and keep feeling her sweet nuzzles until you went back into a wonderful sleep. “I get you all to myself for two weeks now~” the alicorn stated as her weight moved and pressed at your shoulders. You followed her lead and let her press you back into the bed while smiling up at the purple princess standing over you. Whether or not she meant to, that lovely stomach was open for attack and you took the chance. Her eyes widened for a moment upon feeling your fingers tickle along her little pony tummy before you pressed your palm flat against it and rubbed against that coat and softness. Twilight’s eyes almost glazed over from the sudden trance you put her in as she stretched out lightly. Those wings splayed up from her back as you rubbed her belly tenderly and managed to find just the right spot where a hind leg lifted momentarily. “W-wow,” she breathed out, letting eyes lid and shiver visibly from the attention. You kept up the work, giving her plenty of rubs all along that princess stomach and around her sides. The covers were lifted along with her wings, almost creating a small canopy itself over you two. The weakness of your mare being fully exploited, you finally ease up and pet her coat back into place instead of leaving it all shuffled around from the rubbing. “Mm, you’re just trying to stay on my good side so you can sleep,” the mare mentions and moves atop you before carefully settling down. “Though you hardly have to try~” Her smaller form gently settles in against your stomach and chest as she lays on your body like a warm bed. Your arms wrap around her as those wings fold neatly to her once again and let the sheets fall into place over you both. A good hug and she gives a light sigh in content. “Mine,” she says after a moment, placing her forelegs up to hug at you some. “All mine.” You reply in kind and kiss her nose playfully before giving it a tender boop. “Also my Snootle Booper,” she adds and giggles. For a bit, you both lay there and enjoy each others company as if time itself has no meaning. Nothing outside of that room mattered you nor her. If you were to call it a dream then you didn’t want to be woken up ever again. It wasn’t until you felt her muzzle inch closer and press lightly to your lips that you stopped bothering to think of things and merely chose to live in the here and now. The kiss was loving, tender, and far more passionate than you could have imagined. Nothing ever filled your soul with such warmth and love as her kiss. “Want to know a secret?” Twilight asked quietly, pulling away just enough to speak as her breath caressed your lips. You gave a nod and ran a hand up and down between her wings while waiting to listen. It was an obvious spot she liked and her sudden relaxation to nearly go limp on you had that snout, or rather snootle, press to your lips where you kissed several times until she smiled and lifted her head again. “Mm, well, it’s not so much a secret, I guess,” she mentions and looks into your eyes. “I love you~” There was another kiss. One that could melt the coldest of hearts had they experiences such a thing. The love was strong and beyond imagination between you two. It was a bond that was easy to read and often felt radiating from you both when together. Nothing could ever come closer to Twilight Sparkle and you knew it. You loved her just as much. It all felt right. Every bit of it. Well, maybe except for the sudden growl of your stomach. What a way to abruptly pull you out of the mood. “Hehe, somepony’s hungry~” Twilight teased and kissed your cheek. “I’ll try to make you something in a bit, okay?” You were about to get up before a gentle hoof pressed at your chest lightly. Somehow, she was able to keep you from moving just by a touch. Your body relaxed as you eased into the mattress again while she kissed your neck then scooted under the sheets. Whatever she was doing was soon evident when you felt your shirt life and the pony crawling up under it with you. Her body stretched the fabric slightly though you wore an over-sized shirt to bed as it was. When you looked down through the neck hole you saw two vibrant eyes of violet looking back and a cute smile. “You can carry me around like this,” she joked, though you hardly were going to leave at just a joke. She was certainly going to be carried in your shirt through the castle today. Her little snootle poked out the end near your chin where she smooched it then lifted up and planted another kiss upon your lips. The morning would have to wait as well as any immediate food. You wanted to savor the moment and stay in bed with your mare. It seemed she wanted to spend time with you too as she made no attempt to move out of your shirt and cuddled against your bare chest and stomach. Breakfast could wait a bit longer. The two of you had a morning nap to catch. You loved this pony more than anything and it showed. She loved you just as much, and then some.
