You enjoy having Shining on one side of you, and Twilight on the other as you walk together, your strides almost perfectly in sync with each other.   >When you reach the clinic you’re forced to undress. Twilight waits in the waiting room as you and Shining are treated. You have to settle for sitting naked on the hospital bed, they don’t exactly keep human-sized medical gowns in stock. One of the nurses finally comes over to you and examines your body. She gasps a little bit when she sees all the bruising.   >”Mister…. Mister….”   “Anonymous”   >”Mister Anonymous, may I ask how you got such terrible injuries?”   “I fell.” You say flatly.   >”Did you just so happen to fall on a pile of horseshoes?”   “Sure did, crazy that was.”   The nurse gives a worried look around, eventually closing the curtain around your bed, pulling up a seat next to you.   >”Mister Anonymous I have to ask you some questions, okay?” she says, keeping her voice down.   >You just sigh in response.   >”Do you feel safe at home?”   “Yes.”   >”Is there ever a time you don’t feel safe at home?”   “No.”   >”Did somepony you care about do this to you?”   “Yes.”   >”Are you afraid of this pony?”   “No.”   >”Can you give me the name of this pony?”   “No.”   >”Is that because you’re afraid to or you don’t want them to get in trouble?”   “I decline to answer.”   >”Are you in any danger of this pony injuring you again?”   “No.”   >”Do you want to make any kind of report to the authorities regarding your injuries?”   “No.”   >”Is there anything else you want to tell me before we continue here?”   “We were just… ‘playing,’ that’s all. We were both already ‘punished’ for it. I don’t really feel like explaining the situation, okay? I’m safe and loved at home, and I’m in no danger there, I promise.”   >”Okay Mister Anonymous. I’m concerned for you but I have to go by the answers you provided me. The doctor will be in to see you in a little bit, okay? Can I get you anything in the meantime? Extra pillows or blankets? Something to drink or maybe a light snack?”   “Ma’am I appreciate your attentiveness, but I’ll be fine until the doctor sees me. Thank you very much for caring though, it’s appreciated,” you say, offering her a warm smile as she turns to leave.   >”Alright then sweetie. But if you change your mind, just push that button on the side of your bed okay? It’ll let me know you need me for something.”   >You nod, maintaining your smile and eye contact as she finally parts the curtains and leaves your bedside. You fall back onto the bed with an aggravated sigh. You hate hospitals. You hate doctors. You hate being “treated,” to be made to feel like some sort of… invalid for others to take pity on. It pisses you off. The nicer they are, the more pissed you get usually. You don’t like being babied. In fact you’ve had to have necessary medical treatment forced on you on more than one occasion – by a higher ranking officer ordering the medical staff in the sickbay of whatever ship you were serving on at the time to restrain you if necessary.   >You read about ancient Earth medical practices one time – about how the patient’s consent was legally required before they could be treated. If only that were the case today. Refusing medical treatment can get you reprimanded or even worse on a Confederate Starship, so you can either allow the doctors to do what they want, OR be tied up and have the doctors do what they want anyway, with the addition of a reprimand from your CO on your service record.   >You lay there for what feels like hours before the doctor finally shows up.   “Hello Mr. Anonymous, I’m doctor Caduceus. How are you doing today?” the unicorn says, flipping through a chart next to your bed.”   >”Fine, doc. Look, can we make this quick?”   “Relax Mr. Anonymous, plenty of patients get nervous around doctors, it’s okay. We’re gonna take good care of you, just hang tight, okay?”   >You just sigh. Maybe it’ll be better if you just give him the silent treatment.   >The doctor shines a bright light over you, examining your body closely, painfully slowly, making a few notes, an “mmhmm” or “aha” here and there as he does so.   >”Roll over onto your belly for me, please, Mr. Anonymous.”   >You silently comply and wait for him to examine your back and rear end, just as torturously slowly as your front side. Finally he turns the light off and tells you to roll back over.   >”I think that’s all I need,” he says, making a few final strokes on the chart before sitting down next to you.   “You have a slight fracture to your eye socket and severe bruising to the tissue around it. Your nose was also broken and reset improperly,” he immediately says.   “You have severe bruising covering your entire torso and some on your legs, front and back, as well as some on your buttocks, but there were no other fractures I could detect. We can take care of the bruises and the fractured eye socket fairly easily. Unfortunately, I’m afraid repairing your deviated septum is going to pose a bit of a problem. It’s already started to heal, so we would have to re-break the bone to set it properly.”   >You groan loudly.   “Is that really necessary?” you ask/complain.   >”Mr. Anonymous if this continues to heal improperly, it could potentially negatively impact your breathing and pose a serious health risk. The longer we wait, the harder it’s going to be, it’s best if we get it over with as quickly as possible.”   >You groan again.   >”Don’t worry Mr. Anonymous. If you’d like, I can have you fully sedated for all of your treatment, just give me the word.”   “How sedated?”   >”You’d fall asleep and wake up feeling like no time has passed, feeling a lot better and in no more pain, your injuries will all be healed by then.”   “What do you mean they’ll all be healed? How can you heal a fracture so quickly?”   >”We share records with various hospitals and clinics around Equestria. We happened to have a chart from the time you broke a few bones in Ponyville. The treating physician made a note that healing magic has a dramatically accelerated effect on your physiology. Based on their notes, and my treatment plan, you should walk out of here in perfect condition by the time we’re through with you, with maybe a dull ache in your nose at the very worst.”   “Well that’s… really good news I guess. Alright then, send me off to la-la land. Put my ass out, doc, then do your thing I guess.”   >The nurse from before has already brought the doctor a hypodermic syringe filled with potent sedative. He takes it from her and tries to find a vein, eventually finding one that will work.   >”You’re going to feel a slight pinch, then just close your eyes and don’t fight the medicine, just let it do its work, okay?”   >You feel the needle stuck into your arm, immediately feeling the effects of the drug as it’s injected into your system. You feel light as air, trying to hold your eyelids open and say something, only managing a faint grunt before your eyelids slam shut.   >As you slowly regain consciousness you’re still completely out of your mind, the effects of the drug wearing off very gradually. You see Shining Armor, whose lip appears to be healed, and Twilight at your bedside.   “Poooniieees..” you mutter in your drug-addled stupor, drool dripping from your mouth as you turn your head and give a drunken laugh. You look straight at the ceiling and smile. “I looove the poniesss hehehe.”   >You groan and whine a little bit, your mood suddenly shifting in your disoriented state   “want my Twily…” you groan, almost starting to cry. When you see her face looking over you, you smile and try to reach up to hug her – failing horribly as your arms refuse to comply with your commands.   >”Shhhh, your Twily is here,” Twilight says, running her hoof over your arm and kissing your forehead.   “ADMIRAL Jackson..” you say loudly, trying to sit up in bed, Twilight gently forcing your head back down on the pillow,“was alllllways a prick, buffooooon hee couldn’t starship if the fedracy planted on other it heeeee never Mars….FFFFFFFFreaking dumb…”   >Shining Armor and Twilight both snicker at your completely incoherent statement.   “Twillyyyy?”   >”Yes, Anon?”   “Isssss Jasper our filly?”   >She rubs your arm sympathetically as she replies, “No, Anon, I’m afraid she’s not ours, unfortunately.”   “I wanna be a daddy,” you whimper, starting to cry, “isnot faiirrr…. I wanna little Jasper filly for us to love. When can I be a daddy Twily?”   >Shining Armor and Twilight are both jolted pretty badly by your question, even though they know it’s the drugs talking.   >”Shhhh, don’t worry about that right now, Anon. You’ll be a daddy someday okay? Just not right now. Just relax and think about something else. Can you do that for me? Can you do that for your Twily?”   >You let out a whine and blink out a couple of tears before finally settling down.   “Okay Twily. I love you.”   >”I love you too, Anon.”   “wwwwhere’s Shiny?”   >Shining Armor stands up at your bedside next to Twilight.   >“Hey there soldier, I’m right here.”   ”I love you too Shiny…you’re myyyy best stallion friend,” you laugh and snort, “remember when I rode on your back,” you start laughing again   >”Hah, sure I do, that was just this morning.”   “reallyyyy? Cus it feels like a loooooooooong time ago”   >”No sir, not even 24 hours ago, I promise.”   “ohhhhhhh.”   >When the doctor comes to check on your Twilight speaks with him briefly.   >”Doctor, is there anything you can give him to pull him out of this more quickly?”   >”I’m sorry Princess, I really am. I wish there was something, but he already had a bad reaction to the sedative, I don’t want to risk hurting him by trying any reversal drugs. Just try to hang in there and stay by his side okay? It’s important that he’s not left alone while the sedative wears off.”   >Twilight sighs and nods her head in disappointment.   >”Okay doctor… thank you….”   >”No trouble at all your highness, you know where to find me if you need me, or just push the call button on his bed, I’ll be back in another couple of hours to see how he’s doing.”   >The doctor leaves you, Twilight, and Shining Armor alone once again. Shining had remained at you bedside while Twilight talked to the doctor.   “you know Shiny I’ve always liked you a lot. I’m ssssso glad we’re getting to be closer friends. Now that you know I love Twilyyyy… myy Twilyyyy… yourrr Twilllyyyy…. Our Twilyyyy…” you laugh and snort again, Shining Armor can’t help himself and gives a hearty laugh himself.   >”Yes, yes, our Twily is really special, isn’t she Anon?”   “Shinyyy… do you like me?”   >”Of course I do, buddy. You’re a heck of a soldier, a heck of a friend, an adoring lover to Twily, how could I not like you?”   “heheeee… and when I marry Twily we’ll be brotherrssss! I can’t waiiiitttt… can we get married right now?”   >”Not right now, Anon, but maybe one of these days.”   >Twilight flutters her wings a bit and looks away, blushing. She looks at Shining Armor, who nods at her, indicating it’s okay for her to go sit down, that he’ll stay and keep talking to you.   >You continue to wander into and out of a seemingly infinite number of varying states of consciousness and lucidity. Whatever they gave you it’s really doing a number on you.   “hhhhey…hhhey Shiny…” you whisper, “you think princess Celestia would be mad if I gave her a great big hug? She’s a biiiiggg cuddly mommy horse…”   >”I don’t think she’d be mad at all, Anon. I’ll be sure to tell her you called her a ‘big cuddly mommy horse’ too, she’ll really get a kick out of that one.   “heeheee..” you snort, “hey Shiny, riding you was ffffun, can we do it again?”   >”Oh, we’ll be doing it again soon enough, Anon.”   “you’re soo strooooong Shiny, sooo strongggggg… did you like when I was riding you?”   >”Well, I can’t exactly say I enjoyed it, but it also didn’t bother me either. You didn’t hurt my back and you were easy for me to carry.”   “Shinnyyyy… I love you a lot.. not the same way I love Twily but I still really love you a lot just in a different way… does that make sense? I’m not sure what I just said…. I want to make you all safe…can’t let any ponies get hurt… cant let one pony get hurt… its my fault if they get hurt… I cant let them get hurt, Shiny…”   >”Shhh, hey, you’re not going to let a single pony get hurt, okay? You’re Captain Anonymous, remember? The guy who risked it all to befriend us. The guy who lost his home, his career, his friends, and everything, and still just wanted to be our friend. The guy who fell in love with my baby sister, and makes her the happiest mare alive whenever he’s with her. There’s no way you’d ever let a pony get hurt, and everypony knows it, so don’t you worry about that.”   >”Shiny…” you mutter, closing your eyes and slowly drifting off to sleep.   >Shining Armor takes a seat next to his sister as you sleep.   >”I didn’t know he cared about me that much…” he mutters.   >”I did,” Twilight says with a smile as she nuzzles him.   >Another couple of hours pass in silence, both ponies staying with you even though you’re sound asleep. Eventually, when the rest of the drug has been metabolized by your body, your eyes pop open and you immediately sit up in bed.   “Wow, that doctor was right… it feels like he just knocked me out two seconds ago… and now I feel great!”   >You raise the blankets and look at yourself, all of the bruising is gone, as well as the pain. You feel your eye, not a trace of heat, swelling or pain. You wiggle your nose around and gently prod at it with a finger, no pain whatsoever.   >You smile, stretching and cracking your neck as you look over at Twilight and Shining Armor.   >”Hey soldier, rest well?”   “Oh I feel incredible, Shining! I don’t know why I put this off for so long. How long have you two been here?”   >Twilight stands up and approaches your bedside, immediately kissing you, lingering as long as she can. “We’ve been here for almost 7 hours, Anon.”   “Wait, really?? I was out that long?”   >Shining Armor and Twilight look at each other.   >”Yep, you were out cold completely the whole time we were here. We stayed here and watched over you to make sure you were gonna be okay. The doctor said the sedative was a little stronger on you than they were expecting, so you were out for longer.”   >The doctor comes in when he hears you and Twilight talking to each other. He speaks with you for a little bit to make sure you’re entirely lucid, before leaving and returning shortly after with discharge papers for you to sign as well as your clothes. You set your dress uniform on the bed next to you and sign the paperwork, thanking the doctor as he leaves. You’re a bit woozy when you stand up, so Twilight and Shining Armor help you get dressed. As you walk through the main doors of the clinic you stretch and sigh again.   “I’ve never felt so refreshed. Well, back to business I guess. Hey Shining, what do you think about checking up on your old friend, seeing how his work is coming along?”   >”Sure thing, Anon,” Shining says. As the three of you walk together, you don’t notice them exchanging guilty glances, their ears pinned, not sure if they should come clean about all your drug-induced ramblings or just pretend it never happened.
