"I've just been busy..."

>"Are Sweet Apple's finances that bad that you can't spare a few minutes to see a friend?"

"Well... you know AJ. Not very good with mathematics and all."

>"Anon, I don't need to be Applejack to know you are lying to me."

>"What are you doing out here tonight anyway? You never once took up my offers to go star gazing with me."
>here her face falls and her voice cracks

"It's not that..."
>"Then what is it?!"
>Tears stream down her face
>"I tried for months to get you to come around and spend time with me. I even sent you letters because I didn't want to intrude."

>"You hardly leave your house except near sunset so there is no way any of the girls can see you and now I come out to this place and I just happen to casually stroll by?! What are you here to do Anon? It certainly wasn't because of my latest letter and don't lie to me this time."
>She is incredibly distraught
"You don't want to-"
>"Yes, I do! Why won't you just answer me?"
>you hit your boiling point
"To leave Twilight!"
>she looks at you confused
>"Leave... Ponyville?"
>you sigh
"I came to this cliff to jump."
>She looks shocked
>"B-but Anon! You don't have wings! You can't fly! What if you hurt yourself or worse!?"

"That was the plan actually"
>Twilight's tears start again in earnest
>"But Anon-"
"I came here tonight so I could die alone. I can't take it anymore. I can't take being watched all the time like I am some kind of monster. I can't take feeling so alone anymore. That's why I tried so hard to come here in the first place! Amongst billions of humans, I WAS STILL ALONE!!"
>Twilight cried harder
>"B-uut what about me? I don't look at you like a monster... am I not good enough? I tried to be your friend but you pushed me away! I want to spend time with you but you ignored it. You CHOOSE to be this way Anon! Just like you choose that you want to leave without telling anypony."
>you didn't want her to be right
"I am alone! When was the last time you saw a human besides me?"
>your resolve is breaking
>"I haven't..."
"The memories are the worst part..."
>your voice dies out
>what memories
>you had no family
>you had no friends
>you left the home you had because you were alone
>Twilight's small voice breaks your train of thought
>"Make new ones... Most ponies avoid you because you are so reclusive.They aren't trying to hurt you, and they don't know what to say to you."
>You knew Twilight was right
>The ponies didn't have a bad bone in their bodies
>You were pushing them away
>you started to cry
>your whole body wracked with sobs
>something warm presses against you
>Twilight moved beside you to nuzzle you
>On instinct you pull her to your chest
"I'm sorry.."
>"Shhh"
"I'm so sorry.."
>"It's okay Anon."
>you just pull her closer
>"Everything is going to be just fine."
>you look down at her and she smiles
>"I promise."

>Things after that faithful night had changed
>you sold your little place for a modest sum of bits
>you moved into the library basement at Twilight's request
>you knew at first it was to make sure you wouldn't try to hurt yourself again
>after a your heart-felt confession, you had no need to do that
>You began to talk to all the ponies around town
>they stared at you less
>life was good
>all save for one little thing
>Your feelings for Twilight have been growing over the past few weeks
>She helped you get out of your shell
>as time rolled on, you found yourself wanting to be around her more and more
>you had an idea for how to do that

>You have Twilight blindfolded up in your arms
"Trust me, you'll understand once we get there."
>you walked this path with Twilight plenty of times since that night
>You get to the cliff side once more
>A small blanket that you prepared earlier lays away from the edge
"Ready Twilight?"
>She smiles and nods
>you sit down on the blanket and place Twilight beside you
>You take off her blindfold
>She giggles
>"Here again? Not that I'm complaining but..."
"This was the place that I started my new life, and where I started a new chapter in mine."
>she blushes
>"So... why are we-"
>you pull her close
"Maybe it's time to start another."
>Twilight gasped
>"Are you saying what I think you are?"
"I am. Will you be my special somepony?"
>She squees and jumps on to your chest and knocks you over
>"OF COURSE! I have been waiting for you to ask, oh Anon it-"
>You silence her with a kiss
>She blushes as you both lay together under Luna's night
>you watch her as looks at the starts
>"Aren't we supposed to be star-gazing?"
>She doesn't turn to you when she speaks
>you chuckle
"I am."
