"..nh!.." >You finally regain consciousness after a few moments being in a state of daze. >You can feel a slight breeze making your dangling arms move a bit. Are you...upside down? >Your eyesight is still a bit cloudy and you manage to bring your hands to your eyes after some effort. >It takes you some time before you realize where you were. >It seems that your aircraft somehow got jammed in the middle of a Y-shaped tree. The jungle floor is still a bit of a ways down. "Sweet Jesus.." You say as you cross yourself. You mentally remind yourself to start attending masses again once you get out of this jungle alive. "Okay, first things first" You mutter as you try to wiggle your fingers. It takes a bit before they move. Next you try to shift your legs a bit but your harness limits your movement.     >You look around and try to find a way to get down. The ultralight is already rocking way too much for comfort. "Okay Anon..do not fuck this up" You mutter as you slide to one of the thicker branches. >After making sure that the branch can support your weight, you punch your harness button and you slither away from the cockpit. You sit up and try to regain your bearings first. >Goddamnit your head feels like a drum being kicked. >You were about to shimmy down when you remember about your supplies. >Survives a crash but dies of hunger in the middle of the jungle. "I'd be a retard if that ever happens" You chuckle as you try to free your bag and your carbine from the back of the cockpit. >The sudden loss of weight finally tips the aircraft over and you quickly stand back to avoid getting snagged by it. "She'll fucking kill me once she knows what happened" You say to no one in particular. At least the plane didn't blow up or something. It just lands with a very dull THUD.   >You now sling your bag and your carbine behind you back. Now how the hell are ya going down? >You get an idea and start to undo your belt. Wrapping it to the trunk ought to give you a little bit more grip. "Slowly but surely..no reason to rush,Anon" You say as you edge closer to the trunk. >After a few minutes of swearing and chafing your face at the wood, you can now finally feel solid ground again. >The ultralight looked very battered as hell. No use trying to make it flyable again. You just looked at the cockpit a bit for anything useful. >As you were scrounging for any useable item, the unmistakable sound of heavy wings flapping gets your attention. >And then you remember those creatures that attacked you. >Whatever they were, they sure would look for you. You really need to put some distance between you and the stricken aircraft. >Trying to move noiselessly through the jungle is proving to be difficult. It seems that everything you step at either cracks or makes a noise. A branch you just stepped on made you jump out of your skin. >You start to be more aware of your surroundings and you rack up the charging handle on your M1. >Silence. >No birds chirping. Not even the hint of that annoying insect buzz. >Nothing.   >Then you hear someone talk from a distance. You cock your head sideways to make sure it was really humans talking. >You creep towards what you think is the source of the noise. The voice stops and another deeper voice starts to talk. >You stop in your tracks and dive behind some tall grass. >Why hide Anon? They're just people anyways. >But something doesn't feel right. Please let them be people! >And your heart skips a beat after you move some of the grass out of the way. It's the creatures that attacked you! >"...escaped...may be killed" >"...find..bring.." >You find it both terrifying and incredulous that the creatures can talk. You can only hear snippets about their conversation from your hiding place. >What the fuck to do now? >You hesitate a bit then decide that you've heard enough to establish that they're really not friendly. Moving about while trying to dampen noise is proving to be difficult especially since the jungle floor is littered with dried leaves. >A miscalculated step makes you step on a large pile of twigs and the sound makes you sick in the stomach. You turn around just in time to see the creatures freeze up. >They knew that they heard something but they were unsure where it was from. One cocks its head up and takes in a lungful of air. >It has your scent. >It snaps its head in your direction and starts to slink closer. It has your scent but the creature still hasn't seen you yet. >You're still in a mid crouch, too petrified to move. You can only do so much as it methodically creeps near you. >Then the shrub on your left explodes and one of the creatures dart out and takes you by surprise.     >The creature screeches as it pins you down on the dirt floor. It was about to pounce you when you jammed your M1 at it's belly and fired a staccato of shots. >The creature's eyes go wide in shock and it staggers away from you. It doesn't take long before it slumps sideways and shudders a weak cry. >The sound of the other creature snaps you out of the trance and you scramble to get on your feet and start running. >By the sound it makes, you were sure that it was slowly gaining up on you. There was no chance you can outrun it. >You give out a defeated sigh when you realize that the creature as herded you to a cliff. The prospect of getting saved now seems impossible. >Kill or be killed. It was an easy choice to make. >You stop in your tracks and you turn around to see the creature take a beeline at you. >The first few shots went wild but the fifth one hits it right in the middle of its eyes. >The creature keels over and misses you entirely but takes you unaware by grabbing your shirt as it plummets towards the cliff.
