Yes I'l-. I will. I promise. I will. I will. Ok. Good bye, Twilight." >You smirk as she gets off the phone. >"I swear, that girl loves talking about you." "Let me guess, I need to ask her out?" >"Yes, you don't have a choice." >You laugh for a few moments, before grabbing food. >Cereal is the name of this day. >As you eat, Dash sits beside you. >"I've got good news," she says with a smile. "Yeah?" You say between bites. "What is it?" >"My memories are back. Ones about the girls, my parents, Jed," she says, looking away. "You." "Me?" >"Yeah, I'll explain after you've eaten, it's a little complicated." "I got nothing but time, Dash," you say with a yawn. >== >You finish eating and place the bowl in the dishwasher. >Dash said she'd wait for you down stairs. >Firefly and Blaze are at work, and Jed is at a friends house. >Meaning it's just you and Dash in the house for several hours. >You walk down the stairs, and see Dash at her desk, playing with a pencil. >She glances over to you and sets it down. >She smiles brightly as you approach her, but her eyes hide something. >Something special. >You can't tell. >You sit at your own desk, right beside hers. "You wanted to tell me something?" You ask, looking her in the eyes, >A nod. >"I do. You know that my memories came back, right?" she asks. "Yeah, you told me not that long ago. You remember everything again." >"Right. It's great, but it has a down side," she said. "It brought back something that should have stayed away." "What is it?" >"How I feel." "About?" >"You." >A paused fills the room. Dash is looking at he pencil. >"It's been back for a while; its something I haven't wanted to deal with. But I have too. I thought it would go away, but it hasn't. And I know this is sudden from yesterday, but I can'-" >You silence her by taking her hands. "Whatever it is Dash, we'll get thought it. Together." >She smiles at you, not an empty one, but one with a bit of belief behind it. >"When we were younger, and we saw one another often we were friends," she says. >You nod, remembering those days. They were good days with Dash. "I remember them." >"I was just a kid then, and young, and stupid and didn't understand much about anything. But I knew one thing," she says, looking at her hands. "I knew one thing better then I knew the national anthem, or my home address." >You nod and urge her to keep going. >She looks into your eyes and blushes. >"I knew that I had a crush on you. I didn't care if we were cousins, or related or anything. I knew that I liked you, and didn't care." >You say nothing, and do nothing, but watch her. >"I know in time I would have gotten over it; but I didn't. I had an accident and forgot about you, and it." "Until now." >"Please do-" "I'm not judging or mad Dash, I promise you. Besides, I would be lying if I didn't find you cute back then; kids do these kinds of things because they don't understand." >She calms down, and relaxes. "But I'm willing to bet you didn't tell me this now because theres something else, right?" >She nods, and goes back to looking at her hands. >You notice her smile as she sees hers in yours. >"I still do. I know I shouldn't and nothing can come from it, but I still do. I don't even want anything of the kind with you." >Thanks, Dash. >"That sounds mean, but you get what I mean. I still crush on you." >You take her other hand in yours and raise them up between you two. >Her eyes follow her hands, until them match yours. >You lock eyes with her, and stare into them. >She's scared, and confused. >You just smile. >And after a few moments, she smiles as well. >You can feel a wave of calmness rush over her as you stare; her fear breaks down and leaves. >You kiss his left hand softly. >She blushes heavily, and tires to break free, but can'. >You pull her onto your lap and just hold her tight. >She rests her head on yours, and you play with her hair, using your fingers. >It's surprisingly soft. >"Anon?" she asks, her cheek on your head. "Yes Dash?" >She mumbles something into your hair. "Gonna need you to repeat that. >"Can we. Can we..." >You know what she wants to ask. >You readjust your hold on her, and hold her in front of you. >You look her in the eyes, and she into yours. "May I?" you ask, smiling a sweet one at her. >She nods. "Can you say it?" >She doesn't. >She just cups a cheek with one hand, and pulls your head down, and hers up to meet your own. >Her lips are soft and sweet as they meet yours. >It's nothing more then her lips pressed to yours, but you enjoy it none the less. She isn't a bad kisser. >"Thank you," she says, hugging you. >You readjust her to your lap, and she blushes. >It's easier to hug her, and you do so. "Gonna be ok?" >"Yeah," she says. "I will be." >You hold her for awhile, just stroking her hair. >She falls asleep on your lap, and in your arms. >But before she does, you swear you hear her say: >I love you. "I love you too, Dashie" >== >Later on, to celebrate Dash getting her memories back, she holds a movie night at place with you and the girls. >Her parents, who have heard the good news, head out with Jed for the night. >Something about having to let the 'kids' have fun. >Before they go, Blaze pulls you aside, into the den. >"Sit down for a second, will you Anon?" >You do so. >He sits beside you. >"I don't know many things, but I do know that played a role in my daughter remember her 11th birthday, when I dressed up as a Wonderbolt and presented to be one for the afternoon," he says. >You snicker a bit, but in all honesty, Blaze could pull it off, he's a fit guy. >"I don't know what you did, or how you did it. And I don't care. Because you gave my daughter her memory." >You don't have an answer for the man almost in tears. >If only because you don't understand it yourself. >In about 10-11 weeks, Dash regained her memories. >Did you even play a role? Or did they come back on their own. >Maybe helping the girls, the only friends Dash had left did it. >All you knew were two things. >You cousin remembered who you were, and her parents loved you. >And having Twilight curled up on your lap was a wonderful feeling, and listening to her giggle as you tickled her ribs was the best. >But holding Dash's hand while the film played made it that much sweeter. >After all, you're always smiling when you look at her.
