Title: Luna's Protégée(WIP) Author: Pablo_Chacon Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/gTdjXh0N First Edit: Friday 18th of July 2014 07:36:36 AM CDT Last Edit: Friday 18th of July 2014 07:36:36 AM CDT >You are Luna >And at the moment you are sitting down in the dining hall, waiting for dinner to be served >Actually you are waiting for Celestia and Twilight to arrive so you can eat >Ever since Twilight became a princess and defeated Tirek your sister has had more influence than ever >And she might getting just a tad bit too full of herself as well >It seems like ponies hardly ever acknowledge your existence anymore >Since nothing really ever happens at night you also feel somewhat worthless too >Other than raising and lowering the moon you don't do much, except maybe night court which is pretty much just ponies who couldn't get into day court >Celestia's sloppy seconds >You lean back in your chair slightly as your patience begins to wear thin >You don't know why Celestia insisted on arranging this dinner >Oh wait, yes you do, she made it to shower Twilight with praise >Or to just rub the fact that your sister is much more successful than you are >She didn't give you any fancy dinner or a welcome home party when you got back >Hell she even praised Twilight for 'bringing you back' >As you hear your stomach grumble the doors swing open >Celestia and Twilight walk in casually while a pony of the royal guard darts in front of them >“Now announcing princesses Celestia and Twilight Sparkle!” He shouts, then bows as the two alicorns walk past him “Pfff, give me a break.” You sigh under your breath >Celestia stops walking and gives a slight bow to the pony, dismissing him >As the doors close you hear your sister give an audible sigh >“By the gods it's been a tiresome day.” She pulls a chair out with her magic as Twilight does the same on the opposite end >As Twilight sits down she turns to face you, “How have you've been, Luna?” >It's 'Princess' Luna >Even your title doesn't seem to mean much anymore >Celestia also turns to you but just offers a smile, as if to encourage your answer “I'm fine Princess Twilight, just a little hungry is all.” You reply with a forced smile >Celestia speaks up this time, “Oh, I'm sorry. I hope we didn't keep you waiting too long.” >She frowns a little, eyes showing concern >Whether its genuine or not is anyones guess >This dinner is for Twilight, so why would it matter how you felt? You almost spoke those words but catching yourself you say, “I'm alright. It seems time can slip away from the best of us.” >The doors open once more and three ponies come in balancing trays >Odd, you don't remember ordering... >A gray pony with a mustache walks to you and places the dish in front of you >He lifts the lid to reveal... >Pancakes? >Celestia explains, “I ordered for us all in advance and since this is pretty much your breakfast I thought why not order breakfast?” “How thoughtful Tia.” >It was pretty thoughtful actually, perhaps there was a reason she was so popular... >Twilight and Celestia ordered the same thing, a salad >How adorable... >The rest of the dinner goes by uneventful, idle chit-chat about new treaties and of course Twilight >Or more specifically, Twilight's new crystal library >You didn't care much for it, too shiny >But then again you did prefer more old fashion things >Such as your language >Celestia insisted that you drop the Equine Old Speak in favor of the way ponies speak now adays >You did, thinking that it would help you integrate into society again and maybe ponies would start to look up to you again >But alas nothing came of it >You did notice that ponies don't ask you to repeat yourself as often anymore though >Finishing your pancakes, you begin to stand up to leave >They're not talking to you anyways and nothing they are discussing interests you so you might as well get an early start with night court >You mumble out a short good-bye and make your way to the door behind you >As you leave you can hear that Twilight and your sister are now having a hushed conversion, although you can't make out the words >You close the door possibly a little too hard, but you think nothing of it as you walk down the hallway >You're not even twenty steps away when you hear the door behind you open and close >Turning around you see your sister lightly galloping to you >Celestia looks at you with uneasy eyes, “Is something the matter sister? You left in quite a hurry and you didn't talk hardly at all.” You put on your best poker face, “Yes, I'm fine.” >Celestia keeps pushing, “Are you sure? You look like there might be something on your mind.” “No, I'm okay.” You lie >“You can tell me, Lulu.” She isn't convinced >You continue to look in her eyes for a few seconds >She has the glare of a worried mother >At that moment your heart drops and you feel like you could tell her anything >She always did have more charisma than you did... “I don't know, it's just you and Twilight...” You quietly begin to trail off >She patiently waits for you to finish, still looking at you with those caring eyes “I never get to see you anymore hardly, I know it's because of our schedules but...” “I suppose whenever I see you and Twilight together I get a little jealous. Not only because it's not me with you but because I don't have my own protégé.” You confess >When Celestia senses that you've finished she extends her wing over you and leans into you slightly >“I also miss not being able to spend time with you, but it's like you said our schedules are hectic, when I'm awake you're asleep and vice versa.”
