Be sure to get your commemorative t-shirts." >You leave with the rest of the guests, spilling out into a gift shop filled with Disaster Relief logo stylized mugs and apparel reading "I survived the close encounter" with pictures of monstrous kaiju on them. >You circumnavigated easily enough, having to stop once or twice at a congested spot to let people get out of the way. >"So realistic!" a little kid jumped. >Another, was less enthusiastic. >"You could see the wires when it lit up." >You entered one of the "staff only" doors, slipping inside with ease. >One of the staff members turned at the click of the door. >"Hey you're not supposed to be- oh." >He glanced at the lanyard and stopped in his tracks. >"She's right down there, second door to the right." >You thanked him and did as instructed, passing backstage doors and banks of power cords. >Opening an inner door, you came upon a large chamber, backdrops of the ride stage cluttering one side. >In the middle of it was a small crowd of staff members and a large monsterhose. >She flicked an ear at your approach, antennae moving slightly. "So, how'd it go?" >The towering creature had a bedsheet wrapped across the bottom of a hoof, dabbing at her face to clean herself of oily remnants where fog from smoke machines had settled on her. >"I'm not sure how I like everyone being so scared of me, but it was fun." "Was it worth it?" >"They're going to give me a truckload of chips. A truck load!" >One of the attending staff members checked a countdown timer on a table. >"Next group's in 5 minutes." >"Coming! Will you be there in the next one, too?" "When's your lunch break?" >"After two more. See you then?" "Sure." >"Sounds good."
