Before I get into it, Let me just say that I am writing this story in 3nd person.   >Red hot embers smolder on the ground. >A building stands tall, engulfed in dark pillars of smoke and flames. >An Intense amount of heat emanates from it’s walls, harshly welcoming anyone who dares to enter. >”Let’s go! come on!” the Chief shouts before diving into a column of smoke. >3 others, including anon, follow closely behind. >the blaze continuously roars, drowning out the stomping of boots. >This once elegant little apartment is reducing itself to nothing more than ash. >Heavy clouds of darkness hang around the 4 man battalion. >Apart from the dim glow of fire, the surrounding area was completely obscured. >Radio chatter sounded off near anon’s ear >teams reporting their locations, or calling up EMTs to “fire up the grill,” as one had said. >Anon silently chuckles at the, somewhat ironic, joke. >”Anon! Henstein! You’re up!” The Chief yells, motioning to the door before him. >Henstein, the towering giant, walks up to the door, axe in hand. >Henstein pulls the axe back and proceeds to burst through the door with little effort, sending pieces of wood flying. >The two of them get on the floor and slowly enter the colorless room. >”Fire Department!” Anon cries out, but only gets a reply from the crackling flames. >Anon and Henstein feel their way through the entire room, leaving no crevice unchecked. ”Room’s clear!” Anon calls out. >”Got it,” The Chief sounds out, quickly placing a shimmering yellow flag near the door. >The group scampers out of the room and onto the next. >The floorboards creak in protest as the unit rushes to it’s next objective.   (1/4 ?) >>  Science Mango  02/01/14(Sat)00:17 UTC-5 No.16028649 >Swiftly, the group checks what seemed like countless number of rooms, with little to no intervention >”You’d think we would have found someone by now” The chief chimes in >”But there is not a soul.” >The gang makes it to the last door of their current hallway. >The smoke grows thicker by the second. >Thick effort to start seeping through the filters. >The taste of burnt wood and metal hits Anon in the mouth, but it does not deter him from his duty. >With two swings of his axe, anon breaks the door, just enough to swing it open. >Globs of darkness pour from the room, further hindering any vision. >With each step that Henstein and Anon take, the heat intensifies. >A dull glow can be spotted across the room >’What is that?’ Anon questions himself >”FIRE DEPARTMENT!” Henstein bellows, the expression rumbling through anon’s chest. ”Got a wall over here,” Anon exclaims. >The pair transverse the room, eventually reaching that mysterious glow. >At this point, Anon was close enough to make out it’s shape. >Anon stared into the square of light, before realizing the object. ”A laptop!” Anon enthusiastically exclaimed. >”Great! Now we can unlock the door to the boss!” Henstein sneered. >’but why would anyone leave a laptop behind’ Anon thought. >Anon tried to make out what was on the screen, but it was covered in layers of haze. >Regaining focus, Anon turned to continue his search, but was immediately halted by a pair of boots. >He and Henstein followed the boots up to the wearer's body, staring at the towering figure that loomed of them. >A deep, yet crackled voice emerged from the shadow. >”Option 1 or Option 2?”   (2/4) >>  Science Mango  02/01/14(Sat)00:18 UTC-5 No.16028677 >Dumbfounded, Anon lets out a confused “um.” >”Sir, are you alright?” Henstein asks, reaching for him, but the figure slides away. ”Um, hey Chief! I think we got one!” Anon calls out, springing back from the confusion. >The figure’s back was tall enough to reach the roof, forcing it to hunch over. >It’s choice of attire? A trench coat. >One that was as devoid of any color whatsoever, as if looking into a void of sorrow and depression. >”What’s his status?” The Chief questioned. >Anon turned to Henstein, and Henstein to the figure. >”Sir, I’ll ask again; are you o-” >”Option 1 or Option 2? Do hurry, we don’t have much time.” “He needs a lot of help.” >“On it.” The Chief pulls his radio to his face “we got a survivor over here and……” >The figure wore a fedora as dark as it’s coat, with a single stripe of silver going around. >”I already made a transaction today, and I am more willing to make anotheeer; choose.” >The crackling of fire increasingly grew in noise, as if it was in desperate need of attention. >Henstein’s face twisted in frustration, as he tried to size up the fedora wearer. >”Listen here, we’ll play whatever sick game you’re playing, but we got to get out here first!” >Trench opened his mouth, but the sound was not his. >It was a horn; a horn that might as well be played by satan himself. >The horn blared 3 times before the team’s radios came to life. >”ATTENTION ALL UNITS; EVACUATE THE BUILD IMMEDIATELY.
