I’m Rosy Cheeks and I’ll be your styling director today, do you know what that means?” She asks. >You find yourself  unable to speak, and opt to just shake your head. >”It’s just a fancy word to say I’m gonna make you look like the princess you are!” She explains. She begins to trot towards a red curtain you hadn’t seen before now, “Come along dear!” She says, looking back. >You tense up, sniffling as you feel your eyes begin to water. >Rosy tilts her head at you. >”Are you okay dear?” She asks. >Your sniffles turn to wailing, causing all of the ponies in the small backstage area to stare at you, their ears folding back as you cry out. >”Hey! Haven’t you ever seen a crying filly before, move it along ponies!” Rosy commands as she picks you up in her magic, “It’s okay, this may be really strange to you, with where you came from and everything, but it’ll be okay, alright?” She says quietly as she slowly moves back towards the curtain and the crew continues working. >Her words are soothing, almost like Twilight’s. >Not quite the same though. >You begin to cry again, thinking about how Twilight left you behind with all these unknown ponies. >Behind the curtain, you are greeted with a full make-up studio and mane/tail salon. >Still crying, you’re sat down on a long couch, Cheeks sits next to you. >”Hey, have you ever had your coat brushed?” She asks. >You shake your head, sniffling as you do so. >The older mare smiles. >”You’re in for a treat, then!” She says, levitating a fine brush from a nearby table, “Could you lie on your tummy for me?” She gestures for you to stretch out. >You do so. >She places the brush on top of your back and begins to take long strokes down your muted green coat. >It’s fucking heavenly. >All kinds of sensations course through you. >Your crying turns to quiet sniffles. >Laying in silence for a moment, you hear Twilight on stage beginning to speak. >It’s muffled, but you can just hear her talking about how the first ever human in Equestria ‘got lost in the Everfree’. >Bull fucking shit. >He’s coming back in two weeks. >You are suddenly reminded of the spell. >Fuck, it’s getting worse. >You immediately stop your sniffling. >Cheeks notices this, and takes the brush away from your back. >”Ready to get started, sweetie?” She asks, sitting you up. >You nod wiping a tear from under your eye. >Rosy Cheeks gets up and begins comparing a host of different colors to your mane and coat, trying to decide what she needed to touch up on. >As she runs a hoof through your mane, her face twists into a look of shock. >”When was the last time you brushed your mane, dearie?” She asks, levitating a coarse brush over. “Uh… I don’t remember…” You say, having never done so. >Cheeks gasps. >”But you have such a beautiful and luscious mane and tail!” She begins to brush you, the bristles often getting caught in the knots. >You wince every time the brush is pulled through on of the knots. >”I’m sorry, sweetie, but we just have to make sure that you look perfect for when you go up, I’ll be done in a jiffy!” She says. >A ‘jiffy’ feels like hours as she meticulously goes through your mane to get every last knot out. >”And… Done!” She says, before putting the brush down and continuing with her work. >She sprays some oil into your mane, making it shine a little. >After finishing with your mane, she puts a little bit of powder on your face, brightening it up a little, she also does some light eyeliner and mascara work. >”Now all that’s left to brush your tail, I don’t suppose you did this recently, either?” She says, picking up the brush. >You shake your head, prompting Rosy to get straight to work. >The pain in your rear is slightly less pronounced than when it was done to your mane. >But it still hurt. >You focus on Twi’s voice, still talking about your disappearance. >It helps slightly. >Another ‘jiffy’ later and Rosy is done with your tail, some more oil goes in and she hops off of the couch. >As you jump down after her, you get a look in a mirror across the room and see your new ‘look’. >You wouldn’t say this out loud, but you really like what she’s done. >”One more thing, sweetie, lift your hoof for me, please.” Rosy says, appearing by your side in the mirror. >You lift up your hoof and she slips on a ornate shoe decorated with pink and gold flowers. >Placing it back on the ground, you lift your other hooves, allowing the make-up artist to fit them to your small trotters. >”All done, do you like them?” She asks, letting you admire the slippers. “Yeah! They look great!” You say, genuinely liking the intricate patterning. >”Great!” She checks a clock on the wall, “Oh! It’s almost time for you to go on stage, are you ready?” She says, ushering you towards the curtain. >You think for a moment, are you ready for this? “W-Well… No…” You say, you have no idea what to do or how to act, and you feel butterflies fluttering in your stomach. >”You’ll be fine, sweetie, all you have to do is walk up there and your Mommy will do all the talking, you just have to act cute!” She smiles at you, “Shouldn’t be that hard, right?” >She’s right, you’re cute already, it should be easy to win over all these ponies. >At least you hope it will. >You both walk out into backstage area and she takes you to the stairs Twi went up earlier. >Two strong guardsponies stand behind and in front of you, protecting you as they hurry you up the steps. >Rosy Cheeks waves at you as you look back at her. >’Have fun!’ She mouths before you disappear into the darkness. >You stand at the edge of the stage, just out of sight of the audience, you can see Twilight from here, too. >She looks confident, she’s obviously practiced everything to perfection. >”...and without further ado, I want to introduce the newest resident of Ponyville, Princess Green Hornet!” She says. >You snap to attention as the Guards ponies nudge you roughly. >Breathing, you take a few shaky steps onto the stage. >Everypony’s eyes are on you, you hear a few murmurs from the crowd. >You lock up in fear. >What if you mess up? >What if something happens? >Twilight looks at you, straight in the eyes. >”It’s okay, you can come out!” >You take a few more steps, comforted by the sound of her voice. >Your steps become more confident now, as you get closer to Twilight. >Then you fall. >Your polished shoe slips on the velvet of the stage, causing you to land on your face. >There is a mix of gasping, ‘daww’ing and giggling from the audience. >You stand up, tears welling in your eyes as you watch the front row below the stage trying to stop themselves from cracking up laughing at you. >They’re all your age. >Twilight handles the situation with finesse and grace, picking you up in her magic and placing you on her back as she lifts her microphone from it’s place on the stand she was in front of earlier. >You try to control your sniffling as she talks about you. >”You’ll have to excuse her, this is her first time being noticed by anypony but passersby on a street in Manehattan,” She explains, “I found her there while visiting a friend of mine, begging for cash to save her old and run-down orphanage…” She begins ranting about your cover story as you try to control yourself. >With their attention now directed at Twilight, the colts and fillies in the front row stop laughing and focus on her storytelling. >You begin to gain control of your emotions, you can’t succumb to this shit. >”...and I hope that the kind young ponies in the audience can include her in their games and show her around town.” Twilight stares straight at the front row as she says this, “I thank you for coming today, please enjoy the rest of your day.” She finishes her speech and walks off the stage as ponies clap softly. >As you both step back down the steps, Twilight places you back on the ground. >”Are you okay, honey?” Twilight says, smiling down at you. “I’m fine” You sniff, still only just keeping yourself from breaking down again. >”Are you sure?” “Y-Yeah.” You say. >”You did really well!” She says, “You captured the hearts of every mare and stallion there!” “No I didn’t… I messed up everything!” You shout, your emotions finally boiling over. >Twilight hugs you tightly. >”Everyone messes up from time to time, I’ve done way worse than that!” “Everyone was laughing at me!” >”Everypony thought it was cute! They weren’t laughing at you!” “You’re just saying that to make me feel better…” You say dejectedly, even though it does make you feel a little better. >”No I’m not! If you did everything perfectly, no-one would have thought that you were really from Manehattan, now I’m sure that they do! You did well, Green Hornet, don’t tell yourself otherwise.” She sets off towards the exit. >You nod, following her as you calm your nerves. >Despite your resistance, the spell is working. >But you can’t give up yet.
