>This is it >Princess Celestia has requested you to meet her in the throne room >It's been over three weeks since you were ripped from your world into Equestria >No one knows why or how you were brought here, and Celestia has been trying to find a way to return you home >She's been trying her hardest, you know. Still though, hope is all but nonexistent >Hopefully, your luck will change today. If not, you're stuck here. >Celestia promised that if there was a way back, she would have found it by now. Both of you are losing hope quickly. >Pushing any negative thoughts out of your head you push open the doors to the throne room >Celestia looks up from one of many books she's been reading over the past few weeks. >A smile plastered on her face, but from this distance it is too difficult to tell if it is real or not >You almost want to turn around and walk out of the room, but you press on >"Good to see you Anon." "Hello Princess" >Her smile never fading. By now you can see its forced >You know her answer >You don't want to hear it, and you're sure she doesn't want to tell you. Even so you still feel the need to know "Find anything Princess?"     >Her smile drops and she sighs softly >No amount of preperation could help soften the blow. >Your forced optimism drops >"Truly I am sorry Anon. I did everything I could." "I know Princess, I know. Thank you." >Bowing slightly you turn around and leave, heading back to your bedroom. >No amount of luxury or royal treatment could help. >Though many people would kill to be in the position you're in, it's still not your old life >Your life back home wasn't perfect of course, but you lived the way you wanted >Now though, its too perfect. >Slunking through the door of your room you take off your clothes and plop onto your bed. >If only you could fall asleep here and not wake up again >Your wallowing was interrupted by light rasps at the door. >You hoped it wasn't Celestia. You werent mad at her, but you still wanted some time away from her. >Hoping whoever was at the door would leave if you ignored them you sat still >The knocks came again, followed by a voice >"Anon, please." >The voice was farmiliar, it was similar to celestia's but a bit louder and more formal.     >Seeing as they didn't seem to want to leave you alone you decide to get up and answer the door. >You open the door to see the smiling face of Princess Luna >You had met Luna on occasion, and although you didn't know much about her she seemed to be nice >Similar to her sister, but a more brash and MUCH louder >Even so she seemed to care for her subjects, and apparently she considered you as one >"Good to see you Anon. I understand you might not be in the mood to talk so i shall keep this brief." >'Too long already' >"My sister and I would like to apologize for the circumstances you find yourself in." >'Can i sleep now?' >"However we promise to do all we can to make your time here as enjoyable as possible >'You talk too much' >"And please, if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know." >She finally finished yapping with a smile on her face. >Admittedly, it was kinda cute. All of the p0nies here are "Thanks" you mumble, and close the door rather rudely on her.   >You hear a faint "Humph" from the hall and return to your bed. >'Sorry Princess, im not in the mood' >Her visit causes to realize that you can't just sit here the rest of your life, although you can try >Boredom however overcomes your sadness and you finally sit up >It's nearly lunchtime and you aren't very hungry. >It would be rude not to show up, and you should really thank Celestia for going through all the trouble she did >Plus you should probably apologize to Luna >Fixing your clothes you slowly open the door and make your way towards the dining hall >You enter to find Luna and Celestia having a conversation >They both stop and look at you >Putting on your best smile "Hello" >Celestia speaks up "Hello Anon, I trust you are feeling better." "Yeah, a bit thanks." >Celestia smiles and taps her hoof >Servants come in and begin serving food while you take your seat "Celestia? I wanted to say thanks, for everything you have done." >"It's no trouble Anon. I care for all those under the sun." >She smiles and you await your food >Lunch is good, the typical salad and some cakes for desert. >The two seem to be finishing when you speak up   "Luna, may I speak to you for a minute?" >"Of course." >The two of you get up and head into the next room leaving Celestia alone >"Something troubling you, my friend?" "I just wanted to apologize for the way I acted earlier, being rude to you and all." >Luna smiles warmly "Tis no trouble Anon. I understand you are going through a rough time. My offer still stands; If you need anything, please ask. "Thank you Luna. Im going to head back to my room, perhaps we can talk a bit after dinner tonight?" >"Of course Anon. I'll see you later. >You smile a bit and head back to your room thinking on your current situation. >On one hand, you lost all you had worked for >On the other you gained a new life, and you're quickly finding a friend in Luna. >Still though, memories of home flood your brain and you can't seem to see the obvious positives to your situation. >With mind clogged, you decide to sleep until dinner and your eventual talk with Luna. >Hopefully that will help clear your head   >Your alarm goes off and you slap the clock on the table next to you >groaning you stand up and make your way to the closet where you keep your clothes >throwing on your clothes you head to the bathroom to make sure you look presentable >one bathroom trip later and you head out of your room and start towards the dining hall >walking through the massive halls of canterlot castle you can't help but admire the work that must have went into it >all of the walls are covered in paintings and tapestries hang from every window >nothing like you'd ever see at home >home. Damnit >you had nearly forgotten about why you had slept in the first place >these things have a way of creeping back to you, whether you want them to or not >You continue your walk, but with shoulders slumped a bit and enter the dining hall >You are a bit early, and Celestia and Luna haven't arrived yet. >You wait in silence for a few moments until Luna comes in followed by Celestia >"Hello Anon" >"Hello" "Evening your majesties" >They take their seats and servants immediately rush out carrying trays of food. >At least the food here is good, despite a lack of meat. >Small conversations are held between Luna and Celestia and the two later excuse themselves. >You can see the light outside change as the two move their celestial bodies. >They return a few moments later and begin thanking various p0nies for their service at dinner. >"Rest well Anon"And wth that, Celestia leaves the room. "Good night" >You and Luna are alone now, and Luna finally breaks the ice >"Would you like to visit the library Anon? You still want to talk right? "Yes, that would be fine." >The two of you exit and make your way to the library.   >Luna trots ahead as you slowly slump behind her. >Every few steps she would turn around to make sure you were following her >The two of you enter the library, and make your way to wherever luna was leading you >She waves to a librarian as you pass by >Luna leads you to a secluded corner far away from the entrance >Here there are a few sofas and a fireplace burning away. >"I like to come here sometimes, its very relaxing and gives me time to read a bit." >You take a seat on a couch and Luna hops up and gets comfortable next to you. >She sighs softly and looks to you, egging you to begin speaking "Im sorry Luna, about earlier and about now. I hope im not bumming you out." >Smiling warmly "Not at all Anon" "Thank you Luna. I just dont know what to think right now. I had a great life and suddenly im ripped from it. Im just trying to understand why. Why me? Why not someone who wanted something like this? I just feel like im out of place here. Not only from the way I look, but from the way this entire place is. I just feel like I dont fit in, and I want to go back home." >"I understand what its like to want to go home. For so long i waited. For days, years, decades, then centuries I wanted to go back home. I too was ripped away from my home, and all I wanted to do was return." "What happened?" >"I lost control. I let my jealousy take over me. I created a monster, born from the hatred I held for my sister. She festered within me and one day... I snapped.   >By now Luna had small tears running down her face, you could tell it hurt her to tell you these things and yet she pressed on >"I wont go into the details as much of it is a blur for me. The two of us fought, over something that could have been easily resolved. I know sister had only me in mind when she banished me, but it still hurt. For the first few days i felt nothing but anger, but as time went on I came to realize just what I had thrown away. I now directed my anger not only at the nightmare within me, but also myself for not being able to see all that was in front of me." >Despite the tears streaming down her face she managed to put on a smile. A genuine smile filled with something... >Hope >Hope for you >Hope that you will make something out of the opportunity you've been given >Luna was no longer the princess of the night, or goddess of the moon >She was a friend >A friend you can turn to when in trouble >A friend who has been through turmoil and managed to come out head held high >A massive smile forms on your face and you lean forward and pull Luna into a tight embrace which she graciously returns >She begins crying hard into your chest as some of your own tears drip onto her head >To help her out a bit you rub her neck and back softly >She only holds tighter >Time passes and her sobs slowly die out, replaced by her gentle breathing. >She lifts her head up and looks into your eyes >"Thank you"
