> You are Maroon, the dark red unicorn smarty with a dark red mane > And you’re feeling quite happy, even though your ear still hurts a little > A few nights have passed since you make dumb earthie Smokie sleep forever > You then made the unicorns of his herd join you, two stallions and two mares. > Skippy, who is light brown, and his special friend, Strawberry, who is light red with a white mane. They had three babies. You were happy to see this. > Nemo, who is light green with a dark blue mane. > Jinxie, who is white mare with a black mane. > But three of Jinxie’s were wingies and one was an earthie > So, they slept forever. She only has one baby left. You had Stompy take them from her when she was asleep. > In that time, you had Stompy teach them the rules, and take the stallions out with Jelly. > They found one more unicorn. His name is Pepper. He is red with a yellow mane. And a bad temper. > He was stupid and tried to give you owwies. Stompy gave him owwies instead. > Sunny’s babies are now old enough for names. She named the orange colt ‘Scout’ and the brown mare ‘Brownie’. > Scout loves to wander around, and wants to go out with the stallions. Thor is proud of him. > Last night, Sparks found Hooman munsta nummies in a bag at the side of Big Field. > Sparks is a good fluffy, though still a little scaredy. > Inside was an apple and some nut-berry thingies. > You decided to share. Brownie liked the nut-berry thingies, but they hurt her mouth a little. > You bit some chunks of apple off and tried to give them to Silky, but she just trotted away and cried. > You’ve stopped giving her special hugs. She’s getting bigger. You smelled her peepee place. Babies are coming. You’re excited. > You hope any fillies she has will be pretty, like her. > And any colts, as handsome, and as strong as you. As you’re sure you have these two traits. > But Silky always seems so sad. You don’t understand why. > It makes you angry that she always wants to sleep in the fluff pile with Sparks and Cuddles. > She’s your special friend! She should sleep with you! > Tonight, you did as you always do- you lead your herd out to Big Field for grassies. > Stompy took the three new stallions- Pepper, Skippy and Nemo, scouting. > Jelly stayed behind with Sparks and Thor to help protect the mares. > Jelly keeps trying to nuzzle Jinxie, but she keeps turning away from him. > She is afraid. She knows most of her babies are gone. She called for them when she awoke. No fluffy said anything. > Good fluffies. > You chew on grassies, and then play with Sunny’s foals a little. You like them. > Scout is really playful. Brownie is really snuggly. > While you like to play with them, you also know that it is important to let the new herd members see you doing it. >They will trust you that way.   ----------   > You are Stompy, and you have three jobs to do > Your first job is to take the new stallions out patrolling. You’re to find earthies and wingies and make the new stallions give them biggest owwies and make them sleep forever. > Your second job is to bring back Unicorns into the herd. > Your third job is to be on the lookout for nummies. > You’ve decided to start at Little River, follow it upstream to The Pipe. From there, you would take a small look around the Hooman Homes (taking care not to go too deep, as the image of Tangles sleeping forever is still fresh in your mind). > From there, you will go to Fake Ice Place, then across the metal-munsta path into Nummie Place before going back home. >the Nummie Place is where Hooman munstas go to get nummies. In the back are shiny metal things that have food inside them. You had to go there often last snow time, because most of Big Field’s grassies were buried too far in the snow to eat. > You currently are near the Hooman Homes with Nemo, Pepper and Skippy. > You haven’t seen any other fluffies yet. > “Maybe fwuffies hide?” Nemo whispers as the four of you trot along, heading towards the Fake Ice Place. > You consider this a moment. > “If we no find fwuffies, we find nummies” you reply. You remember that a certain part of the Nummie Place sometimes throws away these flat things with cheese on it that smells a little like sketties. You hope you find some, maybe. > You’re about to emerge out of the bushes and out into the metal munsta path, when you seem them. > Fluffies. Lots and lots of fluffies. All meandering around the Fake Ice Place. > “Wait!” you say, and the other three stop. “Wook!” > Pepper looks up and goes “new fwen-“ before you shove your hoof into his mouth. > “SHH!” > The fluffies around the Fake Ice Place, you observe, are coming out of a small, square hole at the bottom of a set of double doors. > You strain to see, but you believe there is another group on the other side of the Fake Ice Place. If it wasn’t so dark, you would know for sure. > “fowwow Stompy” you whisper. > Your curiosity is getting the better of you. > You lead your party slowly down along the metal munsta path going towards Big Field, then sneak over into the ditch opposite Fake Ice Place. > You stay low, and the others follow your lead. > You peer out of the ditch. > The other side of the Fake Ice Place has another hole in it- this one at the bottom of a long, shiny metal box thing. > “if yoo make any noisies, Stompy giv yoo big owwies!” you hiss at the others. > They cuddle each other in fear, now understanding that the other fluffies aren’t your friends. > There are Unicorns amongst them, as well as lots of earthies and wingies. > You can only count up to four, but there are many fours here. At least four fours, and maybe more. > Much bigger than Maroon’s herd. > You watch as a small group of fluffies carrying various sorts of hooman nummies approach from the Nummie Place. All the fluffies around the Fake Ice Place cheer, and scamper inside, shouts of “foodies!” and “nummies!” echo in the night air. > You grit your teeth. You want foodies and nummies. > “Stompy…” one of your party says. Skippy, you think. > “Shh! Am observ…observ…watching! > “Stompy!” another says urgently. Sounds like Pepper. > “HI!” you hear a high pitched voice say. > You’re about to turn around and start stomping…but there’s a strange fluffy looking at you and your party. > Oh no > you’ve been caught. > It’s a grey wingie mare with a black mane. > “Mah name Stowmy. Yoo new fwends?” > You stare at her. > Pepper, Nemo and Skippy look at her, then at you. They know the rules, but are waiting for you to start. They still seem unsure, or unwilling. You can’t tell. > A plan forms in your small, fluffy brain: Maroon told you of his plans to bring the herd to the Fake Ice Place when snow time comes. > “Stowmy” you say “yoo pwetty. Whewe yoo come fwom?” > “da Wink!” she says, pointing to the Fake Ice Place > The Rink. > “Yoo come hav nummies?” she says > “nu, Stowmy com wit Stompy and fwends” you say “we hav sketties at da Home” > She smiles broadly. She has pretty teeth. > You want to stomp them right out of her pretty head. > “fowwow Stompy and fwends!” you say, as you cheerfully beckon her and your party to follow. > You chuckle to yourself. This is going to be funny.   ----------   > You are Stormy, the pretty pegagsus mare. > and you are so happy! You’ve found new friends! They’re all so nice. > They told you all their names > Pepper smells really good, like flowers and sketties > Nemo is really quiet, but cute. You would want his babies if you didn’t already have a husband > Skippy keeps talking about his mate and their babies. You love babies! > Stompy seemed nice at first, but now, so far away from the Rink, you begin to feel a little afraid. > “we awmost dere!” he exclaims > Soon you are led under a fence and into a small hooma home. > There are fluffies everywhere, and long soft things to lay on! And a big, handsome Unicorn stallion. > Then you realize there isn’t any sketties > then that all the fluffies are Unicorns. > then that a purple Unicorn is blocking your way out. He leers at you. You don’t like that. > Then a ugly, deep red fluffy with an ear owwie and a scary face trots over to you and Stompy, who just looks to you and smiles > “Why Stompy bring weak wingie, and not Unicown or nummies?” he says to Stompy. His voice a scary whisper. > “She comes from Fake Ice Pwace” Stompy replies. “She can teww us aww about it. Da Wink, she cawwed it.” > “da Wink…” the Scary Fluffy whispers > he turns his gaze to Stompy, then to Pepper, Skippy and Nemo > “did new Stawwions giv biggest owwies?” > “No.but soon! Afta she teww us wat we wan know…” > The Scary Fluffy’s eyes light up. “Ah. Dat a Smawty idea, Stompy” > “Tank yoo, Mawoon.” > Maroon. His name is Maroon. > “ Wat you name, wingie?” > You can hardly speak. > “…st…Stowmy…” > He smiles. > “new stawwions, outside wiv me. Stompy and Jewwy, make wingie come!” > The back of your neck is bitten into- hard. It hurts. > You’re dragged outside and around the corner. All you can see is Stompy and Maroon following you. Stompy still smiles. > You are roughly shoved against the wall behind the Home. You’re scared, and you pee a little. > The purple one’s nose starts to twitch at the smell, and you see his happy thing get bigger. > “Jewwy neva hav speciaw fwend” he says “maybe wingie can be speciaw fwend befowe sweeping fowevew?” he says as Maroon approaches beside him. > You’re surrounded. > “We no huwt Stowmy if Stowmy teww us about Wink and hewd” Stompy says. Maroon just stares. > “but…but Stompy fwend?” you ask. > His smile fades away “nu. We ask questuns hewe. How fwuffies get into Wink?” > Your answers come almost reflexively. You don’t want to get hurt > “troo howe in doow and aiw pwace” > “How big is hewd?” > “weawwy big. Wots and wots. Biggew den Mawoon hewd…I tink” > “Who is smawty fwend?” > “wintew- he Unicown” > Stompy seems to think a moment > “dat enuff” Maroon says. > There is silence for a moment, you wimper > “Fiwst, Jewwy do wat Jewwy wan” Maroon declares. “Den I wan new stawwions to giv biggest owwies and make sweep fowevew.” > Jelly, the purple one is on you in a flash > “Dis gun feew guud!” he yells. Already you can feel his happy thing inside your peepee place > “NUU! STOMPY SAY NU HUWT!” you scream. > Stompy grins widely > “I wied. Oopsie”   ----------   > You are Maroon. And you have plans to make > If what this wingie said is true, then you don’t want The Rink herd to know of your herd yet. > You will have to hide for a while and have them watched. >You turn your attention to the wingie called Stormy. Jelly is done with her. You knew he was becoming frustrated with Jinxie, so you decided to let him have this at least. > “Now, be guud fwuffies and giv owwies!” Stompy says. > Stormy lays on the ground, whining. “Pwease…pwease wet go” > Stompy gives her a buck in the head as a reply. > Then Pepper joins in. > Then Nemo > and, with some reluctance, Skippy. > the sight of it makes the aching behind your eye subside. > You turn your thoughts back to the Rink. You will have to build up the herd quietly, and make sure the mares mate with many different Stallions. > You’ll be sure to continue the patrols, picking up Unicorns and doing away with earthies and wingies. > Hopefully you will be able to avoid being noticed too soon. > Stormy ceases moving. She is sleeping forever. > Stompy stomps on her face until her teeth comes out > “Pwetty teef! Pwetty teef!” he chants while smiling. > “Guud fwuffies!” you say to the new stallions. “You are aww guud fwuffies!”. You, Jelly and Stompy hug the newest proven members of your herd. > Peppers is happy > So is Nemo > Skippy accepts the hugs but keeps babbling about his babies > You’re not that worried- he’s a daddy, and good daddies think of their babies. > Before retiring into the Home for the day, you gaze off in the distance at The Rink. > It will be yours. You will be the best smarty ever.
