Part 2   >Next morning was absolute hell. >You missed your alarm. >Your mane was a mess. >You were running late. >But honestly, you didn’t care. >Maybe you should get laid. >With a different mare. >That would make it all better, right Anon? >But you knew. >You always loved her.   >You cringe, as you slip on your bags. >You decide to wear the locket today, one last time before you got rid of it. >You had to let it go. >You slowly shuffle you way to the school. >You’re not excited to see Twilight anymore. >”Shines!” A voice calls to you from behind. >You turn to see Cadance, giddy as ever. >”You will not believe what happened last night!” “Shoot.” >”Shining Armor proposed to me!” “Really? That’s amazing, princess.” You say, feigning interest. >She just loves to rub salt on the wound, doesn’t she? >”A-Are you alright?” She cocks her head, looking worried. “I just had some nightmares, that’s all, princess.” >”Would you mind it if I walked with you today? I want to tell Twilight.” “Be my guest, princess.” >Oh this mare. >She was repeatedly stabbing your heart, and then twisting it. “So, did you say yes?” >She looks to you with an unreadable expression. >”Well… It was so sudden and-“ “Yes, or no?” >”I said yes.” >Those words hit you hard in the face. >”Of course, silly!” >You fake a smile. >You half-wanted her to say no. >Your day just got worse. >”I told auntie right away, and the wedding is in a month!” >You nod. >”You’re coming, right?” “Bet I get a death sentence if I don’t would I?” >She laughs again. >You quicken your pace. >”Hey, are you alright? You seem… mad.” >YES I’M FUCKING MAD YOU BITCH “No, just getting a bit restless. It’s quiz day today.”   “More.” >You drop the bucket, and the servant hands you another. >You then dig into the frozen goodness, forgetting the pain. >God, you were pathetic. >Celestia joins you, as she nods the servants off. >”Anonymous, I’m-“ “Would you like some ice cream, princess? I’m celebrating.” >Celestia reluctantly takes a cup, and eats it in silence. >”I’m sure you heard about the wedding.” “Oh yeah! That got WAY over me.” >You take another mouthful. “I’m sorry princess; I thought I was over it.” >Celestia looks to you sadly. >”I understand Anon, we tend to get attached…” >She looks away, before resuming. >”It is a terrible lesson to learn, Anon. Emotions are powerful things, Love, especially.” >You mumble, and take another bite. >”I hope you can recover as soon as possible, will you be here at the wedding?” >You turn and give her a stoic stare. “I’ll think about it.” >You lift the locket, eyeing carefully. >Celestia shuffles in her place awkwardly, before getting up. >”Well then, I should-“ “Princess, ponies say if we truly love something, we need to let it go. Do you agree?” >Celestia is silent for a while. >”I do.” >Huh, nice choice of words there, Celestia. >She turns to go, but she looks back one more time. >”But remember Anonymous, if it comes back to you, it is yours.” >And with that, she leaves. >You are left dumbstruck. >What the fuck did she mean? >Whatever. >But you’re right; you need to let it go. >But if it comes back to you…   >You pace around the grass, going back and forth. >You’ve been here for at least two hours. >You take a sudden stop, and clutch the locket with your magic. >You then clench your teeth, as you ready to throw it to the abyss. >But you can’t. >The aura shakes wildly, before falling to the ground. >You pick it up, and pace again. >You stop, and take a deep breath. >At least the air was soothing. >You sit on the grass, enjoying the sight of the rising moon. >You just sit there- alone- basking in the moonlight. >Almost three years ago, you were happy here. >This was your spot. >Our spot… >You sigh, and look down to the locket. >With one last push, you finally send the locket flying to the valleys below. >You lean onto a tree, and close your eyes. >Like a prisoner waiting for the axe. >You were to letting go. >Then you hear soft wing flaps. >You pause, and open your eyes. >The locket was floating right in front of you, covered in a pink aura. >”What you got there, Shines?” >Cadance. “Nothing.” You quickly hide the locket behind you. >”Doesn’t look like nothing.” “Princess, this doesn’t concern you.” >”I know a love-sick stallion when I see one, who’s the mare?” “What makes you thi-“ >”A heart locket. Come on.” “Please, this has nothing to do with you.” >”Well, I’m royalty; and by my decree, this is my business.” >She tugs at the locket behind you with her own magic. “No!” You grab the locket with your magic as well. >Why must she make it harder for you? >”Just… give it…” >No way you’re letting her see it. >You pull harder. >Damn, this mare is dedicated. >”Shines, make it easy for yourself, I can help!” >She struggles back. “No you can’t!” >”Yes, I can, now let me see!” “Why do you care?!” >”I want to help a friend!” “I’m not your friend!” >”Too bad! I say so!” “Stop it!” >”Just give it up!” “FUCK OFF!” >And with that, a blast of green aura covered Cadance. >The locket goes flying again, back to the gorge. >She’s gone. >You sigh, and plop down to the ground. >Every time you wanted to let go…   >”NO YOU!” >Cadance shouted back, but was only greeted with echoes of her own voice. >She opened her eyes, and saw that she was in a crystalline cave. >Her reflection stared back at her. >And then one of them moved. >It let out a smirk, before stepping out of the crystal. >Cadance backed off slowly, only to be stopped by something behind her. >She slowly turned around to see an army of blue eyes, staring back at her. >Before she could scream, a strong magic gripped her. >”Hello Cadance, nice to meet you.” Her reflection hissed. >And then, her reflection melted into a bug-like pony. >It had crooked, jet black horn. >Holes covered its rotting legs, ebony black chitin covering the pony. >Cadance saw the deep green eyes, and her sharp canines, which hissed with her words. >Sickly green mane dressed the head of this… creature. >”But where are my manners? Let me introduce myself.” >She throws Cadance to the wall. >”I. Am. Chrysalis.” >And with that, she lets out an ear-piercing laugh, as the walls of the cave shifted around her. >Cadance could only shake in place, as the labyrinth formed around her. >She fired all she got at the walls, but it only reflected the bolts back at her. >Soon, she was battered and tired. >Cadance fell to the ground, defeated. >She could only sob, as she waited for help.   >You got up late again. >You felt miserable. >You groan as you slip out of the bed, and slowly headed to the shower. >You’re calling in sick today. >You glance over the newspaper, and surprise, surprise, it’s all about the wedding. >Cadance and Shining is almost celebrity now. >You open the window, crumple the newspaper, and throw it out. >You don’t forget to incinerate anything within its five meter radius. >You head into the kitchen, and start grabbing random tidbits for your breakfast. >And lo, comes in the mare of your pains. >You can see she’s surrounded by reporters, scribbling down every word she’s saying. >You ignore it, and take your seat. >You munch through your morning mixture of cheese and crackers, with some toast. >You don’t forget to take your own brew of coffee.   >”And yes, this is going to be the best wedding of all time, an unsurpassed one to all of history, ponies.” >God, she sounds so stuck up now. >”Where’s my water?” >Wait, your perspective on objective reality isn’t flawed, she IS stuck up. >Okay, maybe a little, but that’s far from the point. >Good, more the reason to hate her. >You’d hoped she’ll not go around telling everyone about last night. >”And I’d like to add- And look who it is!” >You can feel the gaze shift to you. >You turn slowly, and face the legion of reporters. >”This is the pony who was trying to confess his love for me last night!” >Whut. >You can only grunt in surprise. >”Yes, you were trying to give me that locket, is it not?” >You get off the stool. >You lick your lips, and lift up all of your items. “Look, I don’t think that’s right at all-“ >”Of course I’m right! I’m Princess Mi Amore Cadenza! And who are you, peasant?” >The reporters note this. “Hey!” You raise your voice. >The suspense in the room is almost murder. “I don’t know what you got in your little head of yours, but you came to bother ME.” >Everypony gasps. >Oh come on, ponies. >”That’s what you want everypony to think, Shines, you were following me all week!” >Fuck this gay Equestria. >You grunt in annoyance, and slowly make your way out of the kitchen. >Well, looks like you’re going to stay sick for a longer while. >You ignore the sounds of agitated reporters behind you, as you slam the door close. >You forgot your butter. >This day just can’t get any worse. >You slowly make your way to your room. >You finish your food there, and spend the rest of the day asleep.   >You’re awake to the sound of knocking your door. >”Mr. Shines, are you in there? We’re from Equestria daily!” “Coming.” >You lazily fall out of bed, and walk to the door. >The guy won’t stop knocking. >You reach out to the knob and- >You immediately lock the door. >You quickly usher a chair under the knob, holding it in place. >You also push a dresser in front of it. >You then place vase on the dresser, just to top it off. >There, nothing will get through.   >Suddenly, in a large flash of golden light, Celestia teleports into the room. >Goddamn magic. >”Anonymous, what is this am I hearing?” >Maybe you should have magic-proofed the room. >Celestia sure looks mad. >”I thought you were over this!” “I am!” >”Then, what is this?” She throws newspaper at your face. >Aw shit, you’re not reading that. “Look, princess, I don’t know what possessed Cadance, but she’s making this up!” >Celestia looks to you in a mixture of confusion and anger. >”She’s making it up?” “She’s the one who came to bother me last night.” >”Are you telling the truth?” “Am I a pony?” >”Well, technically-“ “Yes, I’m telling the truth.” >Celestia studies your pokerface, pausing for a second. >”I shall look into this, but if you try anything again, Anonymous…” “Throw me in the dungeon, why don’t you.” >Celestia teleports away. >You sigh, and start magic-proofing your room. >You don’t want any more ponies jumping in again. >You don’t get to play around with your own magic, but hey, that’s the price. >Over the course of three hours, you saw too many teleports being rejected by the room. >A pony almost materializing, and then sent back. >One actually made it, until you threw her out. >It was almost entertaining. >Soon enough, you hear another knock. >You sigh. >Well, at least this one was nice enough to knock. >The rest were just barging in. >From the sound of it, looks like metal to the door. >Either the reporters got tired of waiting and broke out the guns, or it’s the guards. >Or Celestia, she had that golden shoe thing. >Realizing the importance and giving up, you go to answer the door. >But first, the barricade. “Coming.” >You call to the knocker, but the tapping is much louder and harder. >They must really love you. “Comi-“ >The door and it barricades explode to tiny bits. >You, right by the door, is flung to the far side of the room, hitting the wall. >You land to the hard floor, coughing. >You think you have some wooden pricks all over you. >That is going to hurt later. >Actually, you can see a piece right now. >You grimace, and pull it out with your teeth. >You still had your room magic-proofed. >You look up, past the smoke, to your offender. >And what a surprise. >Shining Armor. >”I heard some things about you and my fiancée, Shines.” >God fucking dammit. “Yeah, you’re a quick one, aren’t ya?” >You struggle to your feet, and look defiantly to Shining Armor. >You still beat this fucker to pulp last time. >Wait no, Anon, you’re here to fix things, not to fight. >”Is that an insult?” >You shake your head apologetically. “Sorry about that, I’m a bit irked, you’ll understand.” >Shining loosens up at the apology. >”Well I-“ “And disregard what you have heard; it is just a stupid rumor. You check me in lie detection, Shining Armor.” >Shining easily dispels the proofing in your room. >”Well, that was easy.” “I’m hurt.” >”Your magical structure is so… familiar.” >You shrug. “I get that a lot.” >”Now, let’s do that lie detection again…” >You sigh. >You remove the entire pricks all over your body in a single push. >That was uncomfortable. >Well, this is going to be another long day. >Looks like long days are your thing now, Anon, better get the daylight savings. >”Now, for the first question…” Shining rolls out a long parchment. “Is that really necessary?” >You walk over, and put the scroll down with a hoof. >You are a bit taller than Shining, maybe an inch or two. “Look, I have no intention getting in your wedding.” >Shining’s horn glows, and it lets out a green blip. >”Well, you sound clean.” “Go on.” >”So, did you go over to Cadance last night?” “No, she came to me.” >Green blip. >”Do you have feelings for her?” >You pause. “No.” >The horn blips red. >Shining glares at you. “Fine, I do, but I know too well to keep it with me.” >Green light.  “No need to feel sorry for me, Shining.” >”I do not.” >And with that, he leaves your room. >You slowly pick up the pieces, re-assembling the door. >As the door finally gains its form, another guard breaks through it. >You sigh. >Celestia rushes in as well, and starts looking at you worriedly. “Yes?” >”I heard the commotion between Shining Armor and you, so I came down as soon as possible.” >You silently walk up to the broken door, and slowly meld it again. >Once all of the pieces are in place, you let out one last spark, repairing the wooden item. >”You know, you should work as a fixer.” “Can I help you, princess?” >Celestia looks to you once more, before exiting through the fixed door. >You then slump to the floor, trying to take it what just happened. >What was with Cadance? >This was not her. >You go over to your bag, and reach into the pocket. >There’s nothing there. >Oh right, you threw it away. >You jump into your bed, and curl up under the covers. >You never felt so alone.   “Wait, why am I going again?” >Celestia places a hoof on your shoulder. >”Because it will mean so much to Cadance, and she asked for you, personally.” >You sigh. “Isn’t that the problem, princess?” >She shrugs. “The journalists would be all over me.” >”Come on Anon, there is no such thing as bad publicity.” >She laughs, as you give her a death glare. “Do I HAVE to wear this bow tie?” >”Come on, Anon, you look quite dapper!” >Celestia chuckles, before leading the way. >You take a deep breath, and slowly head into the party. >The ponies stop their idle chat as you near them, recognizing you from the papers. >You can only smile and wave, as they slowly whisper among themselves. >Great, just great. >You shoot Celestia a begging stare, but she ignores you. >The two of you slowly make your way to the center of the party. >The entire room is silent now, only the soft music filling the ambiance. >You can finally see Cadance with Shining Armor, and them noticing you. >Shining shoots you a death glare, while Cadance is looking at you weird. >She slowly makes her way to you, her horn glowing. >You are frozen in place, horrified at Cadance’s expression. >It is full of malice. >She then scans over your head with her magic, and smiles devilishly. >”You love me don’t you?” She announces. >The crowd gasps. >You shutter, and you slowly take steps backward. >She is following you, still looking at you with an intent to seduce. “I-I-“ >Your eyes trail off to Shining, who is about to blow you to pieces. >You look to Celestia, who can only gasp in the turn of events. >You don’t dare look at Cadance. >”Shocked? Don’t be, I’m the love princess after all.” >She then lets out a silvery laugh, and that is your cue. >You run away, passing the seas of ponies immediately. >When your sprint comes to a halt, you find yourself back in the gardens, in your spot. >You sigh, and plop on the soft grass. >Something in the distance glows to the moonlight. >You squint your eyes, trying to focus on the glow. >It has slightly golden glow, blinking slowly. >You can only guess it is your locket, tucked away deep down. >”Anonymous!” You can hear Celestia call for you. >You ignore it, and hop over the railings, slowly descending over to the valleys. >You know what you were going to do. >You were going to get that locket back, and you are going to get the hell out of here.   >Cadance took another left turn in the caves, hoping for the exit. >She sighed; as she found another endless expand of caves. >And then, she saw something. >A small glow, just for a second. >Weak, but strong enough to be seen. >Cadance sighed a breath of relief, as she headed towards the light.
