>The next day was crazy as hell. >By the time you and Fluttershy got into town, everypony already knew about the night before. >Word travels unbelievably fast here. >You were keeping your promise to Rarity to tell her about the night before. >As you and Fluttershy walked through town, you attracted whistles, cheers, applause, and even a few insults for being cross-species. >But these ponies were a vast minority compared to the rest of the town.   >She would not shut up. >She started with questions about the restaurant after you left. >She moved on to the proposal itself. >And finally she wanted to know about you sleeping together in very vivid detail. >Fluttershy was also just as enthusiastic about sharing your experiences last night as Rarity was to learn of them. >You were embarassed just to be standing there. >You left them to their chatter and went to go find Sweetie Belle.   >You had never been upstairs in the boutique before. >It was Rarity's home upstairs so you always stayed down in her place of business. >But a little exploring shouldn't hurt anypony. >You found Sweetie Belle in her room. >You knocked on the door, waiting to be invited in. -- >"Mr. Anonymous!" >She ran up and jumped into your arms. >"What are you doing here?" "Just wandering around. You sister and Fluttershy are downstairs talking about girl stuff and I got bored." >"Are they talking about clothes? I wanna go listen!" "NO!" >She tried to run out of the room but you grabbed her before she could get away.   "Uh, I mean, why don't we hang out here for a while?" >"Oh... Okay!" >You point over to where Sweetie Belle was sitting when you walked in. "So what are you working on?" >She dove over to where she was and threw her body over her project. >"It's nothing!" "It must be something." >"It's a gift for you and Fluttershy. I was gonna give it to you at your wedding." "You know about that too?" >"Everypony in Ponyville knows! Probably all of Equestria! This is a really big deal!"   >News really does travel fast. >Given the gossipy nature of these ponies, and their ability to fly, you really shouldn't be so surprised. "All of Equestria?" >"Yeah!" "Is it really that big of a deal?" >"Yeah! A pony being married to a previously unknown creature? Of course it is!" -- >That's not good. >All you want is to live a quiet life in Ponyville with your new fiance. >You tried to avoid becoming a celebrity of sorts, but now you're attracting nationwide attention. >Hopefully most ponies just dismiss it as rumors and tabloid news.   >Sweetie Belle picks up on your distress from the look in your eyes. >"What's wrong, Mr. Anonymous?" "Nothing, Sweetie Belle." >"Well it must be something." >She got you there. "Remember when I said i didn't want to become world-renown?" >"Yes?" "Well, all this news isn't helping."   >She walked over to you and hugged your leg. >"Don't worry, Mr. Anonymous." >She looked up at you. >"We won't let them bother you." >You only crouch down and return the little filly's hug. >You don't know if you feel safe from her comforting words, but they sure make you feel better.   "Well," you break the hug. "I guess I better get back downstairs. It was nice seeing you Sweetie Belle." >"You too, Mr. Anonymous!" "And Sweetie Belle?" >"Yes?" "Please just call me Anon." >She smiles and nods her head. >You close the door behind you as you go back downstairs. -- >Fluttershy and Rarity were still talking about you, but they moved on from last night. >"We haven't discussed it yet," said Fluttershy. >"Well, darling, you simply must figure it out soon!" >They look over and see you walking up. >"Anonymous?" asked Rarity. "When did you leave?" >It's nice being loved to the point that nobody cares to pretend to want to know where you are.   "I just went upstairs to say 'Hi' to Sweetie Belle." >"Well, darling, Fluttershy and I were just talking about your wedding." "Oh?" >"Yes," said Fluttershy. "We were trying to decide what would be the best date." >"Quite," said Rarity. "But we were waiting to see what you thought." >You shrug. "I don't know." >"Don't give us that, mister!" scolded Rarity. "I know you didn't set all this up without a future date in mind at least." "I really haven't a clue. I only got as far as last night. I didn't even know if Fluttershy would say yes." >"Well," said Fluttershy. "What  you think would be the best time?"   >You thought about it. >You shrug. "I don't know." >Rarity facehoofed. >"Aw, come now, Anon, you must have something. What is your favorite day of the year?" >"Hmm... I don't know." -- >Fluttershy tried to help Rarity who was growing increasingly annoyed with you. >"Well, what do you like Anonymous?" "Um... There's my guitar, and I like to take walks at night." >Fluttershy just remembered. >"Oh yeah! I forgot, that's how we met, and that's also the first time we made love!" >Rarity chimed in. >"I thought you said you didn't make love under the stars?" >"No, Rarity. Our dinner was under the stars." >She thought about it. >"Although that does sound very romantic.   >You try to change the subject. "So how does this help us choose a date?" >Fluttershy snapped out of her thought. >"Well, what other time of year do we celebrate the night." >You shrug. "Do you have a lunar festival or something?"   >"Close," Rarity said. "Nightmare Night." "Nightmare Night? I think I've heard of that before. What is it?" >"It's the day where everypony dresses up in costumes and go door-to-door collecting candy," said Rarity. >"Then we offer all the candy to Nightmare Moon so that she doesn't eat us," said Fluttershy. >"It's also a night of fun and games where we scare and prank each other," said Rarity. >Fluttershy shivered. >"It can be really scary though..." -- "But wait, I thought the legend was that she was banished to the moon?" >"She is able to return to Equestria for 1 night out of the year." said Rarity. "But what about Princess Luna? Didn't you say, Fluttershy, that Nightmare Moon was defeated and became Princess Luna again?" >"It's just tradition," said Fluttershy. "A very scary tradition. I get too scared to leave my house."   >You give a small laugh. "If it's so scary, why would you even suggest it?" >"Because," said Fluttershy. "I know how much you love the night, the moon, and the stars." >"And what better way to please you than to set the date during the time we celebrate the spirit of the night herself?" interupted Rarity.   >They are making this about you again. >It isn't just about you. >Fluttershy is every bit important in this as you and then some. "If you're afraid, why don't we set it for a date that would make you happy?" >Fluttershy thought about it. >"How about the day before Nightmare Night?" "That's not what I meant. Stop making this about me. What do you want?" >"I want to make you happy. So close to Nightmare Night is the next best thing to Nightmare Night itself."   >You were not gonna win this. >She also had Rarity to back her up, so you were alone versus the two of them. >You just shake your head. "Fine, I guess." >You better get some say in these plans or something. "How far away is Nightmare Night anyways?" >"A little over 2 months," says Rarity. >Two months to plan a wedding? >They better know what they're doing. -- "Two months?! Are you sure that's even enough time?" >"Relax, darling," said Rarity. "We have this all under control. I happen to be an expert on the matter and know a few ponies as well." >You can trust Rarity. >You know for fact that she has connections with all kinds of ponies. >But does she really know as much about planning a wedding as she claims?   >You sigh. "Well, I guess. I don't know anything about weddings accept you got the groomsmen, bridesmaids, and wedding invitations. Which reminds me, I don't know anypony!" >"A small wedding is just as wonderful as any large, royal wedding." >"Don't worry, Anonymous. Nopony needs to be there except our friends." "Well, what about your parents? We still need to tell them so we can have your father give you away. I also still need to ask your father for your hoof in marriage."   >Fluttershy turned her head down. >"M-my parents?" "Yes. Your parents. I never did get the pleasure of meeting them." >"They... They aren't around anymore." she squeaked out. >Oh crap... >Don't you feel like an asshole right now. "I'm sorry." >"Don't be." -- >You stood there silent for a couple seconds. >Rarity finally spoke up. >"Well then! It looks like we have a lot of work to do and only a short time to do it! I will write to a few ponies and see what I can do from my end." "Thanks, Rarity. We would be completely lost without you." >"Don't mention it, darling. It's my pleasure to help as much as I can with this lovely event!" >You and Fluttershy leave the Carousel Boutiqe to allow Rarity to get back to work.   >You walk in silence for several minutes before Fluttershy speaks up. >"Anonymous?" "Yes, Fluttershy?" >"What happened yesterday?" "I proposed to you, you said yes, and we went home and made love." >"That's not what I mean." "Are you talking about my plan with Rarity to keep you of the house?" >"No that's not it either." "Well then, what?"   >She stopped and looked at you with a straight face. >"What happened to our house?" "We trashed it last night. Remember?" >She was not amused. >You're not getting away with this. >You sigh. "It was Rainbow Dash." -- >She looked shocked, but she didn't sound surprised. >It kind of scares you. >"Why was she tearing up our house?" "I don't know. She raided our fridge, trashed the living room, and moved on to our bedroom." >"What did she do?" "She flipped the bed, threw my clothes everywhere, and emptied the closet. I think she was just getting started." >You frown and look to the ground. "She also tore up the picture of our dance that Pinkie gave us..."   >Fluttershy just stared at the ground. >She didn't say anything. >You just watched her. >But then you heard her sniff and saw a tear fall from her eyes. >Oh no... Not now...   >"Why d-does s-she hate us s-so m-much?" she stammered. >You quickly grab her and hold her tight, trying to comfort her. "She doesn't hate 'us'. She hates me." >"But she destroyed our picture together! And our house! And she even tried to get me to leave you for another stallion!" "Because of me." >You kiss her on the forehead. "This has nothing to do with you Fluttershy. Whatever her problem is, we need to find out so we can rectify this." >"What if we can't? I know how stubborn she can be. She makes me so frustrated sometimes." -- "So what do we do about her trashing our house?" >She sighed. >"I honestly have no idea. I've never had to deal with this kind of problem before." >You're sure she's had friendship probalems before. >Everyone does. >She probably means something of this magnitude.   "Do we... Do we call the police or something?" >"I don't know. This is too serious to make a decision right away." "Would we even be able to get any charges against her? I already cleaned up the mess and it's been a whole day since." >Fluttershy stayed quiet. >You both sat there for a while, just thinking. "I got it. I think it would be best." >Fluttershy looked at you with a shocked face. >Did you really want to throw one of her friends in jail?   "Before you say anything, let me explain." >Her face calms and she nods. "We can never get Rainbow Dash to sit and talk to us, right?" >"Yes, because she always runs away everytime she sees you." "So if we get her arrested, we can ask the police to sit her down and talk to us. And if she answers our questions, we can drop the charges. No harm, no foul." >"But what if she doesn't answer our questions?" "Come back the next day and try again."   >She thought this over. >She sighed once more. >"If it's really the only way... I suppose we could tell someone." >You give her another hug to comfort her. "Trust me. Everything will be alright. No harm will come to Rainbow Dash." >She nods and you continue your walk. -- >You just remembered something. >Might as well try to get Fluttershy's mind of Rainbow Dash for a minute. "Fluttershy, there's also one other small thing." >"What's that, Anon?" "When Rainbow Dash tore up our closet, she threw magazines of you all over the room. I just happened to find them." >She stopped again. >She stared at you with wide eyes and an open mouth.   >"Y-you s-saw t-those?" "Yeah, why? Was I not supposed to?" >Probably not, since they were kept hidden from you. >"They're embarassing..." "I think they're adorable." >She looked up at you with a half-hearted smile. >"That's a time of my life I would rather forget." "So why do you keep the magazines?" >"So I remember to never go back to that lifestyle again." >Remember to forget? >Alright.   "Well I gotta say, you looked very beautiful, Fluttershy." >She blushed. >"Do you really think so?" >You pick her up and rub your noses together. "But nothing can beat your natural beauty. Don't ever forget that." >She gave you a quick peck on the lips and you set her down. >You continued your walk through Ponyville. >Wait a minute. >Where were you going again? -- >"We're going to see Pinkie Pie." "Oh yeah." >You facepalm. "Duh." >You needed to ask Pinkie Pie about catering and invitations. >Who better to get somepony to come to an event than Pinkie Pie?   >When you arrive at Sugarcube Corner, you hesitate going inside right away. >Pinkie Pie always had a way of jumping out of nowhere and startling you. >Fluttershy walked in first. >You breathed a sigh of relief when you saw Pinkie Pie manning the counter. >As you walked in, she was suddenly right in your face. >"Hi Anon!" >This pony defies all laws of physics and understanding.   >You jump and clutch your chest at the surprise. >You need to hang out with Pinkie more. >Maybe then will you grow to become more resistant to her surprises. >"Pinkie Pie," said Fluttershy. "We need to ask a favor of you." >Pinkie turned on Fluttershy. >"Oooh really? Well what can I do for you little filly?" >Fluttershy ignored her 'little filly' comment.   >"We were just looking for somepony to send our invitations to the guests at the wedding." >Pinkie Pie jumped for joy. >"I can do that! I can do that! Parties and party invitations are my specialty!" >"We were also looking for somepony to cater for the wedding," Fluttershy continued. "Would the Cakes be interested?" >"You bet your flank they would! It would drum up all sorts of business for Sugarcube Corner!" >She turns back to you. -- >"So what kind of cake do you want?" "How about a normal wedding cake?" >She gasped. >"No way! We need to make you the most super, special, amazing cake ever!" "Why?" >"Because this is the most super, special, amazing event ever!" >Can't argue with that logic.   >Despite your protests, all these ponies want to blow up the event into something to be heard about the world over. >You just want peace and quiet! >You don't even bother telling Pinkie how many ponies you want at the wedding. >She will probably invite everypony in town and their families anyways.   >"So will you do it, Pinkie?" asked Fluttershy. >"Of course, silly! I will even ask the Cakes if they can give you a discount on their catering!" >"Oh, that would be wonderful. Right, Anon?" "Very." >"Don't you worry your pretty, little heads! Auntie Pinkie will get the job done as soon as possible!" "There's still a couple months until the wedding, Pinkie." >"Oh, really? When's the wedding?"   >You didn't answer. >Instead you looked at Fluttershy for an answer. >It was her and Rarity's idea, so she could tell her. >And besides, she may have changed her mind since. >"The night before Nightmare Night," said Fluttershy. >Or not. -- >Pinkie's eyes widened. >"Why would you choose a date like that?" >"Because," said Fluttershy. "Anonymous here is a big fan of Luna." >Pinkie looked at you with a huge smile. >"Really? That is adorable!" "I like the night sky, the moon, and stars. I'm not a fan of Luna." >"But she is the spirit of the night," said Fluttershy. "And responsible for rising the moon each night." "Well then I'm a fan of her work." >"You're a fan of her." said Pinkie Pie. "Can we drop this please?" >They both giggle. >"What ever you say... fancolt." >Pinkie laughed at her own joke.   >"Will Princess Luna be there?" asked Pinkie. "Probably n-" >"Yes," interupted Fluttershy. "We were just about to go to see Twilight to see if she could mail a letter and ask if Princess Luna would attend." >You stared at Fluttershy with a straight face. >Even if you wanted the princess there, what in Equestria would possibly make her want to come to the wedding of a citizen? -- "So, Pinkie. Just get back to us with a price as soon as possible, okay?" >"You got it, boss!" >She gives you a salute. >"But what about the cake?" "Surprise us." >You say goodbye and leave with Fluttershy.   "You weren't serious about inviting the princess, were you?" >"Why? I thought you would be happy about that?" "I'm not saying I'm not. I just thought we were gonna go with a small wedding?" >Fluttershy's head drooped low. >"Oh... I'm sorry." >Now you feel bad. >You're making this about you, which you also did not want.   >You kneel down and gently pick her head up to look you in the eyes. "I'm sorry. I'm being selfish." >You give her a quick peck on the lips. "So why don't you tell me what you want?" -- >You already anticipated her answer, and it didn't surprise you in the least. >"I just want to make you happy." "Why do you think going above and beyond for me will make me happy?" >She sniffed. "I know you want to make me happy, but you don't have to sacrifice for me. I know you are terrified of Nightmare Night, so we can reschedule for another time." >"No you can't!"   >Pinkie Pie runs up behind you with a large sack of letters and throws it on the ground. >Envelopes shoot up and scatter into the air. >"I already have the invitations made!" she said with a smile. >Damn it. "Have you mailed them?" >She gasped at your question. >"The best way to give a pony a party invitation is to do it yourself!" "Have you given them to anypony yet?" >"This is bag number two!"   >No way... >You JUST left Sugarcube Corner! >Unless this pony can control time, there is no possible way... "You're kidding right?" >She shakes her head wildly. >"Nope! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to deliver the rest!" >She takes off in a flash, leaving a cloud of dust behind.   "Okay then... Never mind about the change of date." >You turned around to catch a glimpse of Fluttershy covering her mouth with her hooves, trying to surpress a giggle. "You don't have anything to do with this, do you?" >"No. It's just that you make the funniest faces and sounds when Pinkie Pie talks to you." >You do? >You never even noticed. >But now she's laughing at you. >At least she isn't sad anymore. -- >You feel pretty embarassed. "Yes... well... On to Twilight's?" >She nods and you make your way to the library.   >You don't even make it in the front door before you are confronted with an extremely giddy Twilight. >She's dancing and bouncing and trotting in place, she's so excited. >She's talking like Pinkie Pie. >"Oh my gosh this is so exciting a real wedding is about to happen and I'm going to be apart of it!" >Yep. >That's Pinkie Pie. >A look of realization comes over her face. >"I have to write the princess about this!"   >Before she runs away, you stop her. "Wait! What do you mean the princess?" >"Princess Celestia! I must write her a letter to let her know about this!" "You write letters to the princess? And she responds to you?" >A confused look comes over her face. >"Of course." >She talks like it was all so obvious.   >You don't care about her relationship with the princess, whatever it may be. >But the fact that she can get a letter to and from the princess is just what you need. >Fluttershy seems to read your mind and speaks before you can. >"Actually Twilight, I have a favor to ask of you." >"Oh?" >"Instead of Princess Celestia, can you write to Princess Luna with an invitation?" >Twilight recoiled as if Fluttershy had just commited the ultimate act of treason and heresy. >Why would Fluttershy want Luna there, but not Celestia? -- >"Oh..." she started. "Well... when's the wedding?" >"The night before Nightmare Night." >Twilight recoiled again. >What is with Luna that has the two of you more fascinated than Celestia? >She opened her mouth to speak but closed it. >You don't know what she was thinking, but you know she is uneasy about sending a letter to Luna over Celestia.   >"Could you do that, please?" asked Fluttershy. >"Y-yeah. I think I can do that." >"Thank you, Twilight. Now if you will excuse us, Anon and I need to get home." >She was trying to avoid the Rainbow Dash thing. >You are not gonna let that slide so easily.   >You hold out your hand to stop her. "Hold on a second. I have a question for Twilight." >Fluttershy knew she failed to skip this conversation. >"What is it, Anon?" asked Twilight. "You have some kind of connection to the princesses, so I was just wondering something." >"Yes?" >Twilight looked very confused. "Could you ask for a warrant to be put out for Rainbow Dash's arrest?" -- >Twilight reeled back in horror. >Fluttershy hid behind her mane and stared at the ground. >"What?! Why would you ever ask of such a thing?!" >You looked down at Fluttershy then back up to Twilight. >"How could you ask of that on anypony? What could Rainbow Dash have possibly done for you to want her in jail?" >You put it bluntly. "She destroyed our house. That's why."   >Twilight refused to believe it. >"What?! Now why would she ever want to do a thing like that!" "I was hoping she could tell us." >You look back down to Fluttershy. >She was still hiding herself. >She didn't want to be a part of this conversation. >You fully understood. >But this was the best course of action to get the answers you want.   >"So why don't you just ask her instead of throwing her in jail?" >You were trying so hard to control your temper. >This pony doubted your reasons and it infuriated you. >Maybe if Fluttershy spoke up, Twilight would give it more than a moments thought.   "Because she refuses to come near me, and runs away when I get close to her. And Fluttershy refuses to talk to her after the diner incident last week." >"What happened at the diner?" >Oops. "Nothing. But I figure the best way to talk to her is for her to be forced to talk to me." >"That's not right, Anon! Why don't you just ask me to talk to her?" >You haven't thought of that. "Do you think you can do any better?" >Her horn begins to glow. >"I have magic, my friend." -- "And just what do you propose?" >"I will invite her over to talk to you," said Twilight. >You facepalm. >That idea was fucking horrible. >Your irritation is reaching new heights with Twilight.   "Twilight... That's a horrible idea." >She was very insulted at your comment. >"And why is that?" "If Rainbow Dash refuses to speak to me face-to-face, what makes you think she will suddenly want to talk now that you're involved?" >"Because I'm her friend, Anon." >Yeah, that's a good reason... >You want to start calling her all sorts of names she will never understand. >It's killing you trying to restrain yourself.   >"I will just tell her to come and talk it out." "And if she doesn't show?" >"Why wouldn't she show?" >'AAAAARRGH!!!!' >You are mere moments from punching the fucking wall. >Your fists are clenching so hard you feel as if your nails are gonna cut through the palms of your hands.   >Fluttershy senses this and steps in. >"Because she refuses to speak to us." >Twilight, after hearing Fluttershy, starts to believe you. >Of course she would. >Why wouldn't she trust her friend over an inter-demensional space monkey... -- >"Well then what else would we do?" "You could trick her..." you mumble. >"Why would I want to deceive one of my own friends?" >'OH MY GOD!!!' >"Because," Fluttershy  speaks up. "If she doesn't know we're around, she will be easier to coax to us." >"But that is so dishonest! I can't lie to-" "It's not lying if you don't mention us." >"But it's still misleading her with false intentions!" "It's not lying is it?" >"Well... no I guess not..."   >You crouch down to her level. "Would you rather go with my original plan?" >"N-no... I wouldn't." "So do we have a plan, or what?" >Twilight thinks this over. >"I don't know..." "She won't come to any harm either way. We only want to talk." >"I guess so... I'll call on you in a day or so when I decide to go through with it."   >You nod you head and stand. "Thank you, Twilight. And about that letter?" >"I'll... send that off right away, Anon." >You nod and smile. "Thank you, Twilight." >You look down to Fluttershy. "Come on, Fluttershy. I think we had enough for one day." >"Yeah..." >You say your goodbyes and thank Twilight once more as you leave. -- >Several days pass, and you still haven't heard from Twilight. >She probably backed out of her deal with you. >You and Fluttershy had taken a break from the wedding planning. >You had all of 2 months to prepare everything. >There was no hurry at all.   >It's about lunch time now. >You were sitting on the couch reading a book on pony who got lost in the woods. >All he had was a small axe to survive against the elements and various predators until his rescue could arrive. >It was a very riveting and engaging book. >You loved survival stories.   >Fluttershy was in the kitchen getting lunch started. >There was a knock on the door and she walked to go answer it. >"Hello?" >You didn't look up to see who it was, but Fluttershy's screams caused you to throw the book down and dive over the couch to the door. >Two pegasi were standing in the door way. >One mare, one stallion.   >The mare had a grey coat and flowing white mane. >She wore a smile on her face. >The stallion was a deep yellow with a short red mane and tail. >He had a mustache and he gave you the most suspicous look. >You have never seen them before, but Fluttershy cowering behind your legs gave you the impression that they were no good.   >"And just who are you?" demanded the stallion. "I should ask you the same thing." >"You mean Fluttershy never spoke of us before?" asked the mare." "No she didn't. Should I know who you are?" >"Well if you plan to do what we have heard," spoke the stallion. "I think you very well should" >You look at Fluttershy behind your legs. "Fluttershy, what are they talking about? Who are these ponies?" >Everyone was staring down Fluttershy. >She finally sqeaked out, >"They're my parents."
