The Joys of the Day - Chapter One   >Canterlot. >You are finally here. >After what seemed like an eternity, three days on foot gets old quick, you are here. >The papers you held clutched in your hands the whole way are your ticket to a new life. >A message from Princess Celestia requesting an audience with you. >Most of Equestria doesn't know how to handle Humans, and their modes of travel are quite small for someone of your size. >Walking down the mane boulevard of Canterlot, you find yourself standing at the gates of Celestia's castle. >Ponies of all size and make have been following you since you step foot into Canterlot. >None of them know what to make of you, some even went so far as to run screaming when they saw you, afraid of an unknown monster. >None of this could deter you as you walk up the steps to Celestia's audience chamber. >The Royal Canterlot Guards eye you with obvious distaste, but the letter clutched in your hand gives you reason to be here. >They open the double doors and you make your way into the giant room. >It is more elegant than Twilight led you to believe, maybe after being in here as often as she was, it lost the desired effect on her. >"Ah, Mr. Anonymous. I'm so glad you could make it." >Celestia stands at your entrance, and makes her way to you in a single, graceful leap. >"Please join me and my sister for some tea. I was just on my way to meet her." "I-I would be honored Princess." >She smiles at your voice. >You could get lost in her mane forever. >It is one of the most beautiful things you have ever seen. >Her horn glows a soft golden color as a pair of doors open onto an elaborate awning. >Sitting on a pillow is Princess Luna. >Celestia's mane is nothing. >You are lost in Luna's mane. >The darkness of night and the pinpoints of light that is every star is there in shimmering glory. >"-ymous." >Her mane holds all your attention, and you find it nigh on impossible to break away from it. >"Mr. Anonymous?" >Luna's head tilts slightly to the side as she says your name again. >You snap out of your trance and give your head a shake. "Wha-Appologies. Princess Luna." >Luna smiles and giggles slightly. >Your cheeks flush instantly. >Pillows lay scattered about the table and you find one. >You fold your legs under you as you sit in the plush pillow, waiting for Celestia to take her spot. >"Mr. Anonymous, we have never met one of your kind before. Could you please tell us about yourself?" >Luna asked, her head slightly tilted as she used her magic to raise a cup to her lips and drink. "Ah well you see, since my arrival here my memories have vanished. I remember what I was doing the night before I woke up in Everfree, but more than that. Who can say?" >You give a slight shrug as you finish, reaching for your own cup and saucer. >Luna giggles again as you hold the saucer in your left hand and bring the glass up to your lips with your right. >You try to ignore it, but you feel your cheeks redden. "My story really starts there, in the short time I've been in Equestria I've had some... interesting experiences." >"Hm. Then we shall have to make sure you have an interesting stay in Canterlot." >"So we shall. Mr. Anonymous, have you arranged any place to stay while you are here?" "Ah... no I have not." >"He is staying here." >Luna says with a nod, as if the argument is over already. "Oh no, I-I couldn't. I don't want to intrude. >"Please. There is more than enough room. It would be our pleasure. I would love the chance to talk to you again." "Alright then." >Before you know it you are shown to your room and left to your own devices.
