"Tell me again why i should sit with you for lunch?" >"Because the great and powerful Trixie is giving you the privilege of living with her. Keeping her company for lunch is the least you can do." >You stare at the girl sitting across from you with displeasure. "Seriously Trixie? You're using that to guilt trip me? That's low." >"Trixie cannot feel shame as this is coming from the girl who turned into a demon, and tried to take over a world of ponies." >She says with a smug smile. "T-that was different! I'm different!" >"And Trixie is proud of you. As a reward, she will give you a share of her peanut butter crackers!" >She gives you four of them, making it an even split between you. You pick one up and examine it. "What's with your obsession over peanut butter anyways?" >"Trixie will not bother explaining it to someone who could never understand it's deep intricacies." >You begin to munch on it, as you had already finished your lunch. >Truth be told, it was pretty good, but you weren't about to admit that. "That's another thing, the talking in third person? That's why no one will sit with you! They don't wanna put up with it. Ya gotta stop." >Trixie gives you a look of annoyance as she munches on her own crackers. >"Trixie will take note of your advice." >You sigh with a mouthful of peanut cracker mush, and as if on cue, the bell signifying lunchtime's end rang out. >You both stuffed the remaining crackers in your mouth while you dump and stack your trays. >"Trixie will see you later." "Yeah, later." >You wave to her as you part ways in the hall, mixing in with the rest of the herd, everyone making their way to the other half of classes for the day. >You walk slowly, as to give yourself more time to think. >You are Sunset Shimmer, and things aren't going the way you planned them. >Actually, they haven't been going your way for a while.   >Sure, there was the whole getting beat by Twilight and her friends thing. >That's already a well known chapter in the yearbook by now. >But it's the events after your defeat that have been getting you down. >First of all, the entire school seemingly hated you. >It was only because 'The Mane Six,' as they had been nicknamed, forgave and took you under their wing that you were allowed to walk these halls of Canterlot High. >If not for them, you're sure that you'd have been lynched or at least thrown in jail by now. >You were used to everyone being afraid of you, that was your old modus operandi after all. >But the openly dirty looks were new. It wasn't so bad. You could deal with it. >Now your landlord finding out what happened? That was bad. >Of course, they evicted you from your apartment for being a 'danger to the community.' >And just like that, you were out on the streets. >Nearly broke and no place to live, you were thoroughly screwed. >But then, out of nowhere, Trixie offers you to live with her. >Turned out her parents left her a house of her very own, while they toured the country with their magic show. >It was paid for and pretty big. Plenty of room. So you took the offer. >Even though Trixie did get on your nerves and you didn't know her well, it couldn't have been that bad. >Now you had a roof over your head again, but why were you even here? >Twilight returned to Equestria, while you chose to stay behind. Truth was, you were too ashamed. >You couldn't go back, not after the things you had done. >There was no way you could face your former teacher, Princess Celestia, and look her in the eyes. >That's why you were going to make amends in this world first, and prove that you were a changed person. >Because you are. >Really! >Being hit with a giant rainbow of friendship would do that to anyone. >As for how you were going to prove yourself redeemed, that was still an unknown. >Screw it, you'll figure out something eventually.   >A few hours later, school was out for the weekend. Thank God. >This planet is interesting, but it's education system is just as boring as Equestria's. >Was that some kind of constant in the universe? >Trixie heads home first, while you caught up with the girls in front of the school. >"So how's things goin' with you n' Trixie?" Asked Applejack. >She always seemed to take the initiative to talk to you. >Maybe she felt it was important to keep her promise to Twilight? "It's fine. No problems so far." >Better to keep how you were almost at the end of your rope with Trixie a secret. >"Seriously? I don't know how you do it, that girl drives me up the wall! I mean, all that third person bullshit." >Rainbow said as she picked her ear with her finger. >"Our offer still stands darling. You're more than welcome to stay with us." >Reminded Rarity, while she no-look pulled Dash's finger out of her ear. "I'm really grateful you guys would do that for me. But you've already done so much, i couldn't possibly ask for more." >You smiled sincerely. >"Of course you can silly! That's what best-true-friends are for!" >Pinkie somehow said even more sincere than you. >"I... i think it's good. F-for Trixie." >Fluttershy quietly mumbled out. >You wondered what she meant by that, and were about to ask when Dash suddenly looked up from her phone. >"Ohmigosh! The tickets for the concert are almost sold out! We gotta go!" >Rainbow was making them go to some underground band's concert. >"Hold yer horses, i'm sure we'll make it. How bout you Sunset, care to join us?" >AJ straightened out her hat, ready to go. "Normally I'd love to, but i'm not feeling up to it right now." >"Aww! Party pooper." >Frowned Pinkie. "Sorry, maybe next time. Have fun!" >You waved as they headed off, and started on your way back 'home'. Was it really home? >The house itself was nice enough, but Trixie? Could you stand to live with her any longer? >She just reminded you too much of...   >You are the great and powerful Trixie. >You are in your kitchen enjoying a cold glass of water. >It was a bit warm today, so you rewarded yourself for making the walk home. >Sunset still isn't home yet, probably still talking to those 'Mane Six' fools. >What was so great about them? >Just because they were popular and had friends... and she was considered one of them. >You were her friend too, weren't you? Maybe you haven't done your best to show that. >Maybe Sunset was right and you needed to tone down the third person stuff. >Maybe Vinyl was right and you needed to tell Sunset the tru- >"I'm home!" The sound of the front door being opened and closed echoed throughout the house. "Trixie is in the kitchen!" >You announce back. Old habits huh? >Sunset walks into the spacious kitchen with a somewhat annoyed face. >She looks at you and notices the water. >"Not a bad idea." >She makes an exact copy of your drink, ice cubes and all. >After downing half the glass she moves onto her next basic need. >"What have we got for snacks?" >She opens the designated snack cabinet, only to step back in shock and what you could swear was horror. >It was packed to the brim with peanut butter themed goodies. >Cookies, candies, all the way down to good old jars of Jif. >"Wh-what is this?!" "Magnificent, isn't it? The grocery store was having a sale. I couldn't allow such a grand opportunity to slip by." >You answer, not hiding the pride you hold for the display at all. "Well? Go ahead. There is plenty, so Trixie will be happy to share with you." >"I... i think i've lost my appetite." >She grimaces a bit and walks out to the living room. >You follow her and watch as she takes a seat on the rather big and comfortable sofa. "So, what shall we do with the rest of our day?" >"Ehh, maybe there's something on tv." >She picks up a remote off the coffee table and activates the large screen across the room. "That's it? Watch tv?" >"Yep."   >She starts to channel surf. >You scoff loudly. "You are in the presence of the great and powerful Trixie!" >Sunset begins to frown. What were you doing? >You throw your arms up into the air. "There is literally nothing you cannot achieve with me by your side!" >Her frown was growing. Stop it. "But you would chose to watch television? Nonsense!" >You point your finger towards the door. "Let us not waste our time on such a simple endeavor, and instead strike out for adventure!" >Seriously, stop this before she gets- >"Ok, that's enough." >she turns off the tv and gets up. >"I can't do this anymore." >You let out a nervous chuckle, keeping your confident appearance. "What do you mean?" >"I mean i can't stay here. I'm going to move out." >Your face drops. "Wait...what?" >"Trixie, you've given me a place to stay, and i'm grateful for that. But the constant talking in third person, the conceited attitude. You remind me... forget it." >She walks past you, towards the door and pulls out her cell phone. >"I'm gonna make some calls and see what i can do. I might move out tonight." >She says softly. "No..." >You say quietly, as she walks to the door. "No wait! Don't go!" >She turns around, surprised by your sudden outburst. "Trixie is-" >You catch yourself. This isn't the time for that. Start over. "I'm... sorry. Let me explain myself before you make a decision." >Her surprised expression fades and she lowers her phone, signifying she's willing to listen. >Now that you have her attention, you become much more nervous, making it harder to speak. >To counter this, you look down and clutch your right arm with your left hand. >You take a deep breath.   "I've never really had friends. Never got the chance to make any. It's because i spent my childhood travelling with my parents on their show tours. When i'd gotten old enough to live by myself, i made the choice to stay here, in our hometown. I knew it was the only way i could hope to change things. My parents knew it too, which is why they agreed to it and gave me this house. They purposely got a big one so i could throw parties for all the new friends i was going to make." >You let out a small chuckle. "Unfortunately, all that time alone meant i didn't know the first thing about making friends. So i did the only thing i knew. I mimicked my parents. I thought by putting on a boisterous and confident persona, i could attract people like they do. Instead, i drove everyone away. I didn't know what to do anymore. I was thinking of just giving up, but then you appeared." >You finally lift your head back up. Her expression hasn't changed. "I watched everything that happened to you. I've seen how you've been trying to change and make friends." >You smile. "That's when i realized, we're alike in a lot of ways. We've both made mistakes we're trying to amend. Well, you've already made more progress than i have, even though Vinyl's been giving me advice." >"Vinyl Scratch?" >She suddenly questioned. >You nod. "She's the only person who really talks to me. The only one who seems to care." >You go silent for a moment, staring at nothing, but bring yourself back on track. "The point i'm trying to make here is, we can help each other. I know i'm hard to get along with, but give me another chance. Be my friend, i'll be yours. Together, maybe we can learn how to change. So... stay with me..." >You gave the warmest smile you could, your eyes started to water and for some reason, you had unknowingly reached out your hands to her. >Truthfully, you looked like you were pleading, not asking. >Aw screw it, might as well plead like you mean it. "Please?"   >Her expression still hadn't changed. >What was she thinking? What was she going to say? >Suddenly, she looked down at her phone, gave it a few taps, and raised it to her ear. >A few seconds later... >"Yeah, it's me. Look, we need to talk. Can we meet up somewhere? ...Uh huh." >She casually made her way back to the kitchen, her voice trailing off. >You were stunned. She just... walked away. You poured your heart out, but nothing. >She hates you so much, you don't even deserve an answer? >As you realize what just happened, you become week in the knees. >You sit down on the sofa, hunch over and hug yourself. >So this is what happens when you try to make friends? >You're so hopeless, not even Sunset wants to be around you. >You're trembling, your heart's racing, you feel a tinge of pain in your stomach, and you want to burst into tears right now. >No. >Not now. Not in front of her. She's obviously leaving, so wait until she does. >Make sure she's gone, get to your bed, then you can cry all you want. >But until then, keep it together. You weren't going to give her another pathetic display. >Just breath. Deep, slow breaths. >You can feel your anguish subside a little. Enough that you can let go of yourself and straighten out. >Just in time too. >She comes out of the kitchen not holding her phone, but another glass of water. >She swiftly walks over to the coffee table. You don't look at her directly nor speak to her. >There was no reason to. Just let her go, the faster the better. >She downs the water and sets the glass on the table. >"Ok, let's go." >A few seconds of silence as you look up to her with a dumbfounded look. "...Go?" >"Yes, as in get up, walk out." >She somehow said matter of factly, as if nothing was wrong. >Your dumb look was turning into a questioning one. "Go where? Who were you talking to?" >"Vinyl. She's gonna meet us at that new ice cream parlour."   "But what about you moving out?" >"O-on hold for the moment." >She said awkwardly, crossing her arms. >You were starting to get upset. "Then why not answer me? Why walk away like that?" >"Because..." >She let out a deep sigh while she placed one hand on her hip. >"You were just acting WAY too dramatic. I can't deal with that shit, ya know?" >That attitude and tone. It was almost like her old self. "Too dramatic?!" You're not going to let that slide. You point at her. "What about you? Weren't you the one crying and snivelling in a heap on the ground about friendship at the hands of Purple Dork?! I'd say that was pretty damn dramatic!" >"That was different! I'm Different!" >She quickly replied, clenching her fists in frustration. >That again? What was it, some kind of defence mechanism? >"Look, save it for later! Vinyl will end up waiting for us at this rate." "Hmph! I'm not going anywhere with you until i get an apology." >"I said-" >To your surprise, she grabbed your left hand with her right, and forcibly pulled you up off the sofa. >"Let's go, Trix are for kids!" >She started dragging you out of the house. "TRIX ARE FOR KIDS?!" >"That's right, silly rabbit~." She said sarcastically. "How DARE you... you... Sunny D!" >She stopped in her tracks, which meant you stopped as well. She turned to you with a face of anger. >"SUNNY D?!" >You narrow your eyes with a smirk. "That's right, taste the power of the sun bitch." >Her eyes widen. Still holding your hand, she commenced dragging you again. >"Trix are for kids!" "Sunny D!" >"Trix are for kids!" "Sunny D!" >For all your bickering, you hadn't put up any resistance. >In fact, it wasn't until you reached the door that you realized all those painful feelings you had were completely gone. >Instead, you had a smile on your face, trying to keep yourself from laughing. >You weren't sure if this was how friendship was supposed to be, but it was better than being alone.   >You are Vinyl Scratch. >You're sitting on a bench outside this new ice cream joint, Frosty's. >You're here because Sunset gave you a call wanting to hang out. >Said she'd bring Trixie with her. >You had some time to kill, so you suggested to meet here. >They're ten minutes late now, but it's cool. >You've got your good outdoor headphones and mp3 player. >So you're jamming out to some tunes and enjoying the warm weather. >And it's not like you're in the middle of nowhere. >Frosty's was smack dab in the middle of this new, trendy plaza. >Taking in the sights, you notice Trixie and Sunset making their way over. >You get up and slide your headphones off, letting them rest around your neck. "Yo guys!" >You say enthusiastically. >"Hello Vinyl." Trixie said with a small smile. >"Sorry for making you wait." >Sunset apologized. "Nah it's cool. Come on, let's get ourselves some treats." >You smile and lead them inside, the feeling of AC hitting you all as soon as you open the door. >Place is busy, but not overly crowded. >Sunset and Trixie stare in amazement at the huge ice cream display case. >"Holy crap." >Sunset utters out. "Yeah man, they've got a waaay bigger selection than Sugercube Corner. And they do everything. Shakes, cookie sandwiches, soft serve, gelato." >"Uhhh..." >They were both a bit slack jawed and overwhelmed. "Easy there, we'll start nice and slow to pop your Frosty cherries. Let's go with ice cream for your first time. Just pick which Flavor you want and i'll take care of the rest." >They start walking along the display case looking it over. >You walk up to the counter where a man wearing a Frosty's uniform waits. "We're gonna need three large waffle cones dipped in chocolate. For me, i'll haveeee... chocolate chip cookie dough!" >He started putting your cone together right away. >Sunset was still walking along the display until she suddenly stops.   >"Oh wow, maple bacon ice cream?!" >"Yep! That's one of our biggest sellers!" >The man said as he handed you your cone. "You like bacon Sunset?" >"I LOVE bacon!" "She'll be going with that." >He put together the cone of bacony goodness and handed it to Sunset. >"And for the last one?" >He asked >You and Sunset look over to the far end of the case, where Trixie has literally pushed her face onto the glass. >She was fogging it up and seemed to be drooling a bit too. >Sunset went over to her. >"What are you-! Trixie! Control yourself!" >Sunset scolded. >"Seems she's taken an interest in our peanut butter supreme!" >The man laughed. >"It's peanut butter ice cream with real peanut butter swirls and chunks of peanut butter cups." >After hearing this, Trixie began lightly panting. >Sunset facepalmed with a sigh. >"Just... give it to her. Sorry about that." >"Not a problem!" >He smiled and took a giant scoop of it out, while Trixie watched on in delight. >She giggled with glee as she was handed her cone. >Before either of them could say anything, you handed the money over to him paying for all three. >"Vinyl you didn't have to-" "Chill guys! I got this. Come on, let's grab some seats." >Before you sit down, you ask the man for 6 plastic spoons. >They sit at a table with four seats. >Trixie sits next to Sunset, while you sit across from them. >You lay the spoons out on the table. >"What are those for?" >Trixie asks. "So we can share a taste of each others flavors. Ya know, sharing, bonding, all that junk. But more than that..." >You give a legitimately sinister smile. "It's to know what you missed out on." >Sunset gives an equal smile back. >"A game of regret huh? All right, let's play."   >You hold your cone out, letting them each take a spoonful. >You then take a generous taste of it. >Just as good as you expected. >You give a proud smile. >They go for their samples. >"It is acceptable." >Trixie says as she puts the spoon down. >"It's cookie dough, of course it's gonna be good." >Sunset scoffs. "Fine then, you're up next." >You and Trixie take your spoonfuls of Sunset's. >She tastes and savours it with a smug smile. >"Ice cream? Bacon? Genius." >You taste it. >The maple and bacon goes surprisingly well with the rich vanilla. "I know a certin group of people who would be all over this." >You half joke. >Trixie tries it next. >"Highly unusual, but charming for a gimmick." >"A gimmick?! Let's just see how well how well you did." >It's you and Sunset taking the last spoons. >Trixie happily goes for a mouthful. >She visibly shudders and squeals in joy. >Your turn. >Holy shit, this is good. >Like, really good. >You nod. "S'good." >You say in a deep voice. "I think she might have won." >"Don't be ridiculous." >Sunset dismisses as she tastes the last spoon. >Her eyes go wide with surprise. >A few seconds of silence. >"Behold speechless Sunset! Victory goes to Trixie!" >Trixie raises her fist in triumph. >Sunset lightly throws the spoon onto the table, making it bounce around like the cheap plastic it is. >"Whatever, bacon is still better." >With a satisfied smile and nothing to hold her back, Trixie starts goin' to town on her ice cream. >Sunset takes on a stern face. >"With that bit of 'fun' over, let's get down to business." "To defeat the huns?" >You couldn't help it. >You never could. >"No i- what?" >"Disney movie. Mulan." >Trixie answered in her ice cream frenzy. >"I haven't watched any of those princess cartoons." "Oh, we gotta fix that." >"Never mind! We've got something else we need to fix!" "What?" >Sunset thumbs over to Trixie. >"Princess peanut butter over here, who do you think?"   >Trixie would have said something back, but she was enjoying her ice cream too much. >"She told me you've been giving her advice. >I'm curious, what have you been telling her?" >You give a thumbs up and smile. "Be yourself!" >"That's the worst possible advice you can give her!" "What's wrong with being yourself?" >"Sometimes people need to change." "Like how you've changed?" >Sunset puts on a proud face. >"That's right. I'm different." >Trixie rolled her eyes. "For the better?" >"Of course for the better! >What kind of question is that?" "I dunno man..." >You sling your free arm around the back of your chair and slink into it. "Maybe you've changed too much." >"Too much?" >She gives you a puzzled look. "Don't get me wrong! It's cool that you've given up the whole bitch-demon thing. I dig that." >"I'm sure many do." >Trixie piped up, to Sunset's annoyance. "But it seems to me that you've lost a bit of yourself. Nah, not lost, more like holding back." >"And what exactly am i holding back?" >Sunset was skeptical "Your attitude. The way you see and think of the world. How you really feel about everyone and everything." >She seemed to be getting nervous. >"W-what are you talking about? >Why would i do that?" "Because you're afraid." >You flatly state. >"Afraid?! Pft! >What do i have to be afraid about?" "Of not being forgiven and accepted. Of making a mistake. Of being thrown away and abandoned by the girls." >"N-no! That's not..." >She looked down. >She was visibly shaken up by what you said. >Trixie seemed concerned, but not surprised. "But you don't have to be." >She looked up. "They're never gonna do that to you. They're not like that." >"You don't understand! >You have no idea how important it is that i... >The things i've done..." >She looked down again. "You want to make up for stuff, i get that. But you don't have to oversell it. Specially by being fake."   >"Quick question." >Trixie suddenly interjected. >"How do you two know each other?" "Rainbow's band. I help them out once in a while, and sometimes Sunset shows up. Though we've never hung out besides that." >"And you picked up all that about Sunset from some time at band practice?" "Hey, just because i have headphones on most of the time doesn't mean i'm not observant." >Sunset waved her hand between you and Trixie. >"Putting me aside, can we get back on track here? >Has your advice helped Trixie at all?" >You sigh. "No, it hasn't." >"Then i'd say it's time for a different approach. >Or else she's going to end up alone for the rest of high school." "Hey, she has us." >"That's only because she acted out a stage play in front of me. >And you're a weirdo who'll talk to anyone." >You lift up your cone sarcastically and smile. "Thank you." >Trixie's eyes widen. >"Wait, you consider me a friend Vinyl?" "Yeah, why wouldn't i? We hang out at school don't we?" >"Well yes, but i just thought you were being nice to me. >And we don't spend time together that often..." >You straighten up from your slouched position to lean on the table. >You give Trixie a warm smile. "Trix, aren't you the one who's been keeping her distance?" >She returns the smile. >"I... i guess i have." >Sunset rolls her eyes this time. >"This is all very touching, really." >She looks over to Trixie. >"But you've got to make an effort on this. >Even around other people, not just us!" >Trixie frowns and fidgets a bit. >"I'll try, but i've been doing it for so long, it's become a force of habit." "Man, if only we could conjure up a giant rainbow of friendship and magic to hit you with. That'd fix you right up, eh Sunset?" >"Fuck you Vinyl." "See?! Now that's the Sunset i like!" >Trixie laughed while Sunset slouched in her chair, now done with her bacon treat. >"Finish off your ice cream you bitches, i wanna get outta here."   >You are Sunset Shimmer. >You walk out of Frosty's with Vinyl and Trixie. >After a while, the ice cream and the AC were actually a bit too chilling, so you welcome the warm air of the outside. >"So what now?" >Asked Trixie. >"I know something we can do if you guys are up for it?" >You kind of felt like just going back home, but... "We're already out and about, so why not?" >You'd soon come to regret that choice.   >"Sunset is that you?! I thought you weren't up for a concert?" >Rainbow said as she came over to your group. "I guess i just couldn't stay away afterall. Ha ha." >You said with fake enthusiasm. >"Yo Vinyl, where's your brother and his friend?" >"Stuff came up and they had to bail. >So i gave their tickets to these guys." >Rainbow gave Vinyl a high five. >"Nice. Better then letting them go to waste. >So..." >She looked over to Trixie. >"You like rock concerts Trixie?" >"The great and powerful Tr-" >Trixie was interrupted by a sharp jab of your elbow to her gut. >"O-of course i like r-rock concerts." >She sputtered out. >"I like to play the guitar you know." >"Oh yeah, you do play guitar. >And you're not half bad either." >Rainbow smiled. >"Thanks." >Trixie smiled back. >You'd have to keep your eye on her. "Where're the others?" >"They're getting some snacks. >Come on, let's go find 'em." >Rainbow leads you through the crowds swarming around the amphitheatre. >You keep pace with Vinyl to ask something. "Hey, what's with all these people and this venue? I thought this band was underground?" >"Yeah, they're not really underground anymore. >It's only a matter of time before they go completely mainstream." >Guess that explains it. >You soon find the rest of the girls in the food cart area. >They're surprised and excited to see you. >After some pleasantries, the snacks are spread out among you. >Corn dogs, popcorn, soda, and plenty of it thanks to letting Pinkie Pie do the ordering.   >You all stand around talking for bit, waiting for the concert to start. >You suddenly realize you should take care of something before it does. "Hey Trixie, hold my stuff while i go to the restroom." >"But i'm already holdin-" >You shove your share of snacks onto her. "Just do it. I'll only be a minute." >You half order. >"Sure thing, Sunny Delight." >She says sarcastically. >"Sunny Delight?!" >Rainbow walked over to Trixie. >"As in-" >"Taste the power of the sun." >Trixie finished for her. >They both started laughing. >"Oh that's priceless!" >The others joined in their laughter. >Rainbow put her arm around Trixie's shoulder. >"Good one Trixie!" >They continued to laugh. >You considered calling her Trix are for kids, but she was getting along with everyone so well you decided to let it go with a smile.   >The concert was loud, but fun. >Everyone had a good time. >Though you were definitely ready to call it a night when it was over. >Outside the amphitheatre, you were all saying your goodnight's, later's, and see ya's. >"It was cool hanging out with you guys." >Vinyl said to you and Trixie. >"Trixie enjo-" >Another jab of your elbow. >"I mean, i had fun." >She had slipped up a few times during the night, but mostly did well holding it back. >Vinyl chuckled. "Thanks again for meeting us on such short notice." >"Pfft! No biggie. Heck, if you want, we could hang out again tomorrow?" >"Sure! Why don't you come over to our house?" >Trixie invited. >"Sounds good to me. >Later." >She waved and walked off with Rainbow, who was also ready to leave. >You and Trixie started making your own walk home. >More than halfway there, into the suburbs, Trixie spoke up. >"So, have you made a decision on the whole moving out thing?" "I have." >"And the verdict is?"   "Well, someone's got to watch over you. Make sure you don't relapse back into a third person character. So yeah, moving out is cancelled." >"Glad to hear it." >She smiled. >After a few minutes, she broke the silence again. >"Hey Sunset?" "Yeah?" >"What did i remind you of?" "Huh?" >"When you were about to leave, you said i reminded you of something." >Your tired brain finally loads the memory. "Oh! Yeah... um..." >You sigh. "You reminded me of myself." >"You?" >She asks confused. "The old me. The one that was so hateful and bent on pushing everyone away. I can't stand how i used to act. I never want to be that person again." >A moment of silence. >"Don't worry, i'll make sure you don't relapse." >You give her a surprised look. "Trixie?" >"You watch my back, i'll watch yours." >She lightly bumps into you with a smile. >"Right?" >You return the smile and the bump. "Right." >You both chuckle. >Finally reaching the house's curb, you both begin to walk towards the front door. "But hey, Trixie?" >"Yeah?" "Can we cut down on the peanut butter inventory in the house?" >Trixie clears her throat before answering. >"We'll see." "No seriously-" >"I SAID WE'LL SEE!" "TRIXIE!" >As she opens the door and you both enter, you realize you've come home just as you left it. >Trying to keep a smile off your face, you weren't sure if this was how roommates were supposed to be. >But this place suddenly felt a lot more like home now.
