>You’re back in Chrysalis’ room again. >No surprise there, of course. >But everything feels new. Sort of. >You’re standing up. >Away from your corner. >Chrysalis herself is on her bed, watching you closely. >She looks calm, albeit a little irritated. >You feel hopeful, though. >You’ve been granted a little more freedom by the otherwise pretty cruel Queen. >But… >Now you’re not totally sure what to do with yourself. >You take a few slow steps. >Move towards the fireplace first. >The warm flames are not bad to look at. >Then you look around for a moment. >Bookshelf. >Oh yeah. She has books. >You walks towards it while the green eyes of a killer follow you. >Honestly, the way she looks at you is a little unsettling. >But you try to ignore it for the time being. >The bookshelf itself is large and solid, carved from dark wood and towering above you. >Simple, twirling patterns are chiseled into each shelf. >All the books look old and seem to be bound in leather. >Leather… >You haven’t seen much of that among the ponies. >You pick one of the smaller ones. >The title is written in something golden. >Not actual gold, obviously. Is it a sort of ink? >The letters make you worry, though. >Opening it on a random page confirms your worry. >It’s the same unintelligible garbage the ponies use. >The shit that looks kind of like normal writing, but then totally isn’t. >With a feeling of annoyance you put the book back in its place. >”Not much of a reader?” >You turn around and look at Chrysalis. >She has raised one of her eyebrows. >Well, no. Not with this language. “Not exactly.” >She tilts her head. >”I had hoped you might have some interest in that. You don’t seem entirely idiotic, at least.” >So she’s the sort who associates reading with intelligence? >Did she just try to give you a compliment, then? “This is a foreign language to me.” >You’re a fucking alien, for crying out loud! >Her eyes move towards the ceiling as she thinks. >”Ah. I suppose that would be the case.” >Her gaze then returns to you. >”So you do enjoy reading?” >Well, sure. >To some extent, anyway. >Books CAN contain interesting stuff. “When it’s not gibberish.” >That makes her look a little amused. >”Then try this one.” >Her twisted horn glows and a semi-large book pulls itself out from between a couple of bigger ones. >It hovers in front of you and you grab it. >Opening it to a random page reveals some weird shit. >The letters twist and twirl in super-complicated patterns and there’s no spaces between any words. >Or maybe the language doesn’t use separated words and only forms entire sentences at a time? >Whatever. You still have no fucking clue what you’re looking at. “This is still gibberish.” >The book suddenly glows green, slams shut in your hands and is pulled out of your grasp, only to return to its original spot. >”Pity.” >You start hoping she’ll introduce you to some other hobbies later. >Because this is going nowhere. “Isn’t there anything else to do here?” >You turn around and look at Chrysalis. >She narrows her eyes suspiciously at you. >Goddammit, you’re not trying to plot something! “Or maybe somewhere else? Your place is pretty big.” >”I’m not going to let you loose.” >Let you loose? ”What would I do? Escape?” >This place is fuckhuge with a trillion guards. >… Which kind of sucks, but you’re not going to tell her that now. >”Maybe. I saw you trample your way through a group of my dear guards once.” >You did? >Oh, right. You did. Sort of. >Cool. “You still have another thousand.” >Probably more. >She gives you a rather annoyed look. >”I’ve already given you something. Now you want more?” >Well, kind of. “I can’t be stuck in this room forever.” >No, seriously, you couldn’t >You’d break down or some shit. >Tiny spaces aren’t good. >Chrysalis’s face slowly turns into a wolfish grin. >”Oh really?” >No. >Don’t you fucking dare, you bitch! >You can’t stop yourself from glaring. >Life here has been confining enough already. >It only makes Chrysalis chuckle. >”Oh no, are you about to go on a rampage?” >Yeah, she doesn’t sound concerned at all. >Then again, she has fucking magic. >”Perhaps I should tie you down properly again…” >Her horn glows and a certain chain jingles in the corner of the room. >You look and see the collar hovering above your mattress in an oddly menacing way. >The sight manages to unnerve you. >You really, really don’t want to go back to that already. >Chrysalis giggles. >”Ah, so you do feel fear sometimes.” >You look back at her, and she displays another one of her terrifying grins. >Those slitted eyes and sharp teeth can be pretty damn scary. >”As big as you are, you’re still all mine.” >Her horns ceases its glow and you hear the chain and collar hit the mattress. >She stands up and steps out of her bed, slowly approaching you. >You resist stepping back, even though the atmosphere has become decidedly eerie. >Despite having to look down to make eye-contact when she stands right in front of you, you don’t feel very intimidating. >And she doesn’t look intimidated either. >She looks pleased. >”You do remember your position here after all. Despite being such a ferocious beast, you’re still beneath me.” >A part of your mind ponders her weird description of you, but the rest doesn’t care right now. >Is she about to do something horrible to you? >Slowly, her eyes wander down your entirety and then back up to your eyes again. >”It’s a shame you’re unique. Imagine what I could do with a dozen of your kind…” >… Wait... “A dozen like me, trying to get the hell out of here?” >She blinks. >”… No! A dozen strong minions!” >You don’t feel like an obedient minion, though. >At all. “But I’m not that.” >She rolls her eyes. >”You are if I say so. What, are you my enemy?” >Well, you don’t really like her and she’s keeping you prisoner. “Why not?” >She looks almost baffled. >”You are as much mine as any of my subjects, you fool.” >That’s a load of bullshit! “Uh, no? I’m not a changeling and I’m not freely submitting to you.” >That makes her think. >But then she smirks. >”I could make you submit.” “No, you couldn’t.” >The response is almost automatic and uttered before you can think properly about it. >And the cold hate in your tone makes Chrysalis pull her head back. >She looks at you, seeming unusually unsure of herself. >But then she sighs. >”So stubborn.” >Turning around, she walks over to her bed. >”That’ll be enough chatting for today. It's night and time to rest.” >She climbs into her bed and magically lifts its duvet over herself. >Already? >It makes wonder how she keeps track of time here. >”Don’t just stand there.” >Oh. >Right, you have your spot. >You walk back to your mattress and sit down on it. >Suddenly you feel the collar grasp your neck. >Instinctively, you grab it and try to pull it off. >You hear Chrysalis giggle. >”Don’t panic, dear pet. It’s just for the night.” >Looking from your mattress on the floor, you give her a questioning stare. >She raises an eyebrow. >“You don’t understand? I can’t have you try anything funny in my sleep.” >Huh. Okay, that makes sense. >When she sleeps would usually be a pretty good time to make an escape. >She lies down and puts her head on her large pillow. >”I don’t want to be ravished by an ape when I’m resting.” >… What? “That’s not going to happen, though.” >”Of course not. You’re collared.” “That’s not what I meant.” >You’re not going to rape anyone, moron. >Her head perks up. >”Oh? No libido?” >For crying out loud… >Yeah, she’s smirking again. >Smart-ass. “No, I’m just not into monsters.” >Take that. >She gathers her forehooves beneath her head and gets more comfortable facing you while lying down. >”Shining Armor would have very different things to say about me.” >She winks. >Yeah, sure. “Pretty sure he’d agree that you’re a monster.” >Along with the rest of Canterlot. “Disguising as his wife doesn’t count.” >”I still made him happy.” “I don’t care.” >… This conversation feels strangely familiar. >”And here I thought a vigorous male like yourself would enjoy a taste of a true Queen.” >Vigorous male? “If you want me to rape you that badly, why don’t you undo my collar?” >”No.” >Thought so. ”Then let’s just sleep already.” >You make yourself comfortable on your mattress. >Chrysalis looks at you for a moment before turning away and going to sleep. >With a green flash from her dark horn, the magical light in the ceiling dies and everything turns black.
