A door The window between Opening, shielding, blinding Alternative perspectives The gateway to the truth   >The hinges creak as you open the front door. >After locking the hot night air out by closing it, you remove your shoes and plop down on the couch. >Work was a hassle today. >With Fluttershy's constant pestering, you barely got any work done. >The Apple Family pays daily and by the basket. >You pull out the two bits and put them on the table. >Then mutter to yourself. "Fucking Fluttershy." >Why does she always have to mess everything up? >That's pretty much all she does. >She'll come and bother you when you're doing something, and next thing you know, everything is ruined. >Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if it were only words. >She evolved from awkwardly trying to get your attention to actually trying some of the things she was mumbling. >Like trying to fondle you as you nap. >Or hiding in the trees so that when you reach for an apple, your hand meets a very tight, wet, and unpleasant surprise. >And even switching out your bottle of applejuice with her home made juice. >Good thing it had such a rancid smell. >There has to be a way for you to get rid of her. >You lay flat across the couch and stare up at the ceiling in thought. >Is there a way to get her to stop? >Because the law wouldn't be happy were you to make yourself a yellow and pink doormat. >And as much as she annoys you, you wouldn't hurt her. >Physically. >Could it be just a phase she's going through? >She said it herself a while back... >That she's never liked a girl like that. >Until she met you. >If only you could at least understand why the hell she's like how she is now. >Then maybe, just maybe, you could find a way to get her to stop without hurting her. >As you ponder these great many things, your eyes become heavy. >When you close them, a knock comes from the door. >Who could be here this late? >Well besides... "Ugh." >You open your eyes and get up. >As you near the door, you hear Fluttershy's voice. >Great. >Flinging the door open, you say what you usually say to her. "Get the fuck-" >The sight stops you. >Instead of seeing your porch and the front lawn, you see a view of your house from across the street. "What the..." >Fluttershy is talking to another version of you. >What the hell is happening? >You close the door and open it again, just to be certain you're not seeing things. >The image remains there. >Weird. >Curious about what this even is, you reach out to touch it. >Your hand goes flat, as if touching a wall. >That's strange. >Fluttershy speaks to the other you while holding out a long black object in her hoof. >"Femanon, are double dildos your fetish?" >The other you furrows her brow. >"Fuck off Fluttershy." >The door is slammed on Fluttershy, causing her to jump and eep a little. >Whoa, wait a second. >You remember this. >This was a week ago. >But what does it mean? >Fluttershy whispers, but you can somehow hear it perfectly clear. >"S-Sorry..." >She turns around with her head hung and starts walking down the path. >Tears stream down her face and she snivels a little bit. >You might feel something for her if she didn't do this all of the time. >The picture fades to black. "Well that sure was strange." >After closing the door, a bright white light surrounds it. >When you reach out to touch it, it disappears completely. >What in the world is going on? >A fizzle sound echoes across the house. >You turn toward where the sound is coming from and see a flashing white light up the stairs. >With hesitation you ascend the stairs, not sure what to expect once you reach the top. >The bathroom door to your right is flashing white. >You grab the doorknob and the light is severed. >When you open it, it is similar to before. >A view of Sweet Apple Acres is in front of you. >Another you is standing on top of a chair to pick some of the higher apples. >Fluttershy is standing next to the chair, looking up at her. >You remember this as well... >It was a few days ago. >She managed to stay with you and distract you all day. >She speaks, and once again it sounds as if you are right next to her. >"Hey Femanon, do you ever get a strange feeling in your tummy when you're with someone?" >The other you drops a few apples from the tree into the basket and responds without stopping. >"No Fluttershy." >Fluttershy drags a hoof across the ground and bashfully looks down. >"O-Oh... Okay." >She opens her mouth as if to say something, but then just looks away with a sad expression. >She then mumbles to herself. >"I j-just want you to notice me..." >It fades to black as she stares into the trees. >What does all of this mean? >You close the door and it disappears like the other one did. >Without thinking, you go to the closet door and open it. >Just as you suspect, there is another one. >This one shows you the inside of Sugar Cube Corner, where you and Rarity sit across from each other. >As the other you tries to discuss the latest gossip, Fluttershy enters. >This was yesterday. >Rarity waves her hoof for Fluttershy to come over. >"Hello darling! Come, sit and chat with us!" >The look of displeasure on your face is extremely noticeable. >Maybe you didn't think so at the time, but looking back at it now... >It was pretty rude of you. >Fluttershy takes note of your expression and avoids your eyes as she scoots in next to Rarity. >Well that was mean, she hadn't even done anything yet. >And you were already treating her as if she had. >As Rarity and you speak, Fluttershy looks back and forth between you both. >She seemed to hold your gaze longer than Rarity's. >Occasionally she nods to something, but most of the time she would keep quiet. >After a few minutes, the other you stands up. >You know why you did that. >It was because Fluttershy was creeping you out by staring at you like that. >After you leave, Fluttershy says her goodbye to Rarity and exits as well. >She looks like she is on the verge of tears as she walks out. >She speaks to no one in particular. >"D-Did I do something w-wrong?" >The picture goes black. >These are really starting to make you think about things. >Mostly if what you're doing is right or not. >The bedroom door shines and you rush over to open it and learn something new. >It shows you today as you are dragging back a basket of apples. >Fluttershy is flying next to you, about to talk. >"Hey Femanon, I think-" >The other you cuts her off with a hand. >"Damn it Fluttershy, if it's something stupid again then I really couldn't care less." >She shakes her head. >"N-No, it's n-not stupid! I promise!" >You watch as you give her an angry look. >"It better not be. What do you want, Fluttershy?" >Fluttershy looks hurt by the tone that you used, but still speaks. >"I was g-going to say-" >She doesn't pay attention to where she is flying and smacks into a branch. >The branch snaps off and falls down on the basket, breaking it and sending apples rolling down the hill. >The look on your face when you realize what has just happened is one of extreme hatred. >She flinches as you scream at her. >"GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE! ALL YOU DO IS RUIN EVERYTHING, YOU STUPID AWKWARD AUTIST! STOP BUGGING ME WITH YOUR STUPID SEXUAL ADVANCES ALL THE TIME, OKAY?!" >She stays flying there in the sky for a few seconds, looking very hurt. >Without warning, she takes off flying into the town. >She closes her eyes tight as she flies to try to prevent the tears from flowing. >Once she is far enough away, she goes up to a cloud. >She buries her face in it, sobbing uncontrollably. >Her voice is heard through the cloud and sobbing. >"A-A-All I w-wanted to s-s-say was that y-you looked nice today... How c-could I have m-messed that up?" >It goes black and you stand there, thoughts racing through your mind. >A loud knock booms through the house. >You are startled awake. >Looking around, you see you're still laying on the couch. >It was a dream then? >It felt so real though. >The knock is heard again. >You stand and walk to the door, a little bit dazed from what you've just experienced. >When you open it, you see Fluttershy standing there. >Her eyes are pink and puffy, like she's been crying a lot. >She's trying to hide it, but failing miserably. >"Femanon." "Flutt-" >She cuts you off. >"No, l-let me talk. I want to say..." >She looks down for a second and takes a deep breath before returning her eyes to you. >"I want to s-say that I'm sorry. I shouldn't have tried to f-force you to do something you weren't c-comfortable with." >You stand there completely baffled. >First the crazy dream, and now the crazy reality. >She inhales sharply, cutting the silence between the both of you. >"Well, I guess I'll just be g-going now then... I'll see you around." >With a depressed look on her face, she turns around to leave. >She snivels a little bit as she walks away. >All of the events from before and the dreams flood through your mind. >The guilt overwhelms you. >You call out to her. "Fluttershy, wait!" >She stops and looks back over her shoulder, tears pooling in her eyes. "Do you um... Do you want to come inside for some tea?" >Her eyes widen and she turns completely around. >She looks confused, but a small smile slowly stretches across her face. >"R-Really?" >You nod and step aside, making room for her to enter. >She snivels once again before entering with a sincere smile on her face. >When she is inside, she turns to you. >"I-If you don't m-mind me asking, why?" >A light smile appears on your face as you turn to her. "Sometimes having an alternate perspective on something really helps." >The hinges creak as you close the front door.
