> several weeks pass > My friendships have been properly restored, and little has gone wrong > I spend much of my time walking about town, making friends, and performing tasks assigned to me by my freinds > One day, as I'm running a chore for the fruit farmer, a falcon lands nearby > I watch it preening, such a majestic creature > It stares at me, initially looking merely for observation > The gaze then turns to malice > The bird shoots toward me, talons out > I dodge to the left, nearly landing in a food cart > the bird returns > I catch it by the legs > It pecks at my hand > I hear the quiet one approach Fluttershy, get this bird under control > the quiet one takes the bird from me, as I nurse my bleeding hand > "Now now there Mr. Falcon, no need to go acting up like that" > she stares at it with determination > the falcon returns the glare > the bird flies away > "Anon, are you alright?" I will have a doctor treat my hand, why did the bird attack? > "I don't know....he just did" > I finish my chore from applejack, and go to the doctor's building > "oh my, what did this?" an enraged falcon > "well don't worry, we'll get you fixed up" > The doctor applies medicine, and bandages the wound My appreciation, doctor > "it's my job, Anon" > I pay what is due, and head home > I explain what happened to the night sky > "oh my, are you alright?" I will be fine, the doctor administered his care > We sleep > I arise the next morning, forgetting of my hand > I attempt to use it, and it stings > I now remember > I go to the forest, to speak with the nubian horse > "It is nice to see you again Anon, what problems do you have going on?" I was attacked by a falcon, it should be fine > "Don't you find it a bit strange, that a bird would become so deranged?" It doesn't make sense, but I am unconcerned > "if that is how you feel, then with luck you will need a great deal" > I dismiss her statements, and leave > I stumble upon an investigation in town What is the trouble? > "several ponies have gone missing" > could the Nubian horse be right? > I question the guard What do you know so far? > "the ponies have disappeared, there seems to be signs of a struggle, that's all we've got" a ponynapper? > "We think so, though we don't know who" > I return home, pondering the strange events of the past few days > first a falcon attacks, then ponies disappear > "what's bothering you?" I do not understand what is going on recently > "it is strange" > I spend half the night pondering, before I succumb to sleep > I awake the next day, with very little progress made > I dawn another tunic, and begin my search for answers > I walk around town > I spy a shadow circling above > the falcon returns > it dives for me > I attempt to dodge, but it grabs my by the shoulder > I swat at it, but it holds firm > I let out a yell > the bird speaks > "you, human, who is so beloved by the gods, are nothing more than mortal, see how you bleed" You speak the truth, bird > "I am no bird, I am Seker" > talons swipe my cheek > the bird releases and flies away > I return to the doctor, and am bandaged once more > I consider what has happened Seker, god of death, has made himself known. He's tested my mortality. Was it a challenge? > I walk into the Twilight's house, hoping for insight > "Yes Anon, how can I help you?" I need insight, I have been attacked by Seker, god of death. > "What happened?" He drew my blood, and declared me mortal > "Sounds like he was testing you" for what purpose? > "That....I can't tell you" > I thank her, and depart. > the guards are here again > more disappearances > Rarity is among them what is Seker doing? > I return home, and pray to Thoth Oh wisest of beings, deliver unto me the knowledge I seek. Where may I find the answer to my questions? > A bird flutters by the window > I exit my home, to see the bird flying toward a mountain Seker must have evil planned for Thoth, the neutral judge, to intervene > I head to the mountain, in search of the answer > the trek lasts most of the day, I set a camp near the mountain in the evening > I would swear that chanting was coming from the mountain > I awake in the morning, determined to find my answers > I scale the winding road up the mountain > each step, dangerously close to falling > I find a cave > my ears detect a word > "Amenta" land of the dead > I enter the cave > a small light flickers in the distance > I race to the light, and find an alter surrounded by torches > I see a doorway in a wall > I enter the room, carrying a torch, and see several mummies > These mummies are shaped like ponies, and upon my entering, several of them move > "ammph, mmph!" > I move to the speaking mummy > It appears to be in a good state, not decayed, doesn't even look embalmed > It isn't embalmed > I tear a hole in the mouth > it's Rarity > "Anon, there's a bird man" Seker > "he wrapped us up, said we're going to meet our new master" What is his plan > I hear a screech, and turn to see a man, with the head of a blue falcon > "Mortal! What are you doing here?" Why have you taken my companions captive? > "Kek" > My heart stops Why? > "the Lord Kek will cleanse this world" Anubis would never allow such a travesty > "Ha! Anubis! He has no power" > Two anubites leap from the shadows > Seker strikes them down > "Now, I must finish the ceremony" > Seker vanishes > a bone pony now arises from the shadow > it looks intent on claiming my soul as its own > a mace in the shape of a Jackal head appears in my hand > I strike at the bone pony, and it dissipates, Anubis reclaiming the creature. > I work at unbinding the ponies > Chanting is heard from the alter > Rarity is clear, and we work quickly to untie the others > I lead the ponies out of the room > Seker is not at the altar > We quickly flee from the cave > "Anon, are we safe?" without sacrifices, he can't summon Kek > "we were sacrifices?!" you would have been > the ponies flee, I return to the cave, intent on removing Seker from this world > Seker is back at the altar > He places a lizard on the altar > I quickly rush at him, the mace still in my hand > He dodges, appearing to have glided out of the way > he turns around, still chanting > I strike again, and hit on the wing > Seker screeches momentarily, and kicks out with a talon > He claws my wrist > I drop the mace > I use my other hand to attack his claw > I grab hold of the leg, and bend it > Seker releases my hand > He reaches the climax in his chanting > I re-wield my mace, and hit on the right shoulder > Seker collapses on the ground, laughing What do you find amusing? > "The futility of your struggle" > I bring the mace down on his head, Seker vanishes, brought to the Amenta to be judged by Osiris > I am leaving the cave, when the reptile writhes > it squirms as if possessed no > The reptile's stomach bursts, and a reptile headed man steps out of the beast > "Ahh. So good to join the realm of mortals once more" Kek > "Oh, a mortal, how pleasant" > he raises a hand > all the torches in the room extinguish > I am blinded by the darkness Kek, you are not meant for this world > "but it will be MINE!" > I am flung from the cave > I arise, to find Kek standing over me > "I had feared you, knowing of the support you receive from the gods, but Seker was right, you are but a mortal" > the reptile hissed, before vanishing in a cloud of darkness > I ran as fast as I could toward home, praying it would not be too late > I found the village undisturbed > I waited anxiously, on guard so that whenever he might strike, I would be prepared. > the day passed without conflict > night arrived > a scream let out in the dark > I took the night sky's chariot, and rode to the scream > Kek was there, using the darkness to engulf and suck the life out of ponies his journey into this world has made him weak > an arrow from the bow of Ra interrupts his siphon > Kek directs himself to me > "How dare you mortal! I will bring death to these creatures" None but you will see their deaths > A shadow lashes out to me > I gallop from it, but it knocks the chariot > I fire an arrow, which brushes past Kek's robe > I ride circles around Kek, firing many arrows > Kek nimbly dodges each > Kek retaliates by forming minions from the night > Scarabs climb onto the chariot, and begin to eat at my flesh > I leap from the chariot, landing on a nearby building > I launch several more arrows, to little effect > the darkness of the night surrounds me, and binds me > Kek levitates his way to me > "You are but a mortal, how did you expect to defeat me?" > I struggle against my bindings > "hold STILL!" > He strikes my stomach, and I cough blood > "I will conquer this land, and you, mortal, will watch from the afterlife" > his hand glows > I feel the life draining from me > a blast of the sun lands on Kek > my bindings release and Kek recoils > a Petsuchos has been sent by the gods > the crocodile summons blasts of light from the adornment on his head > Kek recovers, and attempts to counter the light blasts > his darkness meets the light > gradually, his darkness begins to overpower the light > the Petsuchos fights, summoning all of his power to fight the god > the darkness meets the crocodile > the Petsuchos is enveloped, and absorbed > In the distraction, I receive a spear from Horus > I jab at Kek, and land a stab just below the ribs > Kek recoils, infuriated by my ability to injure him The gods are on my side Kek > "The gods cannot do enough to save you" > Kek floats around me, tauntingly out of reach > He sends a blast of darkness > I roll > he sends another while I recover from the roll > I am hit > he approaches as I attempt to recover > I thrust once more, and hit in the chest > it is a shallow wound > he removes the spear, and discards it > "You are trying my patience mortal. Now is your end" > he holds out his hand > I feel as the darkness crawls upon me > It penetrates, into my heart > my ribs are shattered > I utter a silent prayer, fearing my death is upon me. > I begin to fade > my heart begins to slow > the life is sucked from me, and I begin to go limp > I desperately continue my prayer, in hopes the gods may yet have something to bring me from the edge of death > I feel something crawling from my throat > An asp emerges from my throat > it lashes at Kek, striking him in the throat > its venom is quick to take effect > Wadjet, protector of the land, has poisoned Kek > Kek drops to the ground, writhing in pain > "You...you worthless human! Why do you carry such favor with the gods?!" > I retrieve my spear > Kek is on the roof, convulsing from asp venom, and hissing in pain I don't carry favor with the gods, you carry their hatred > The darkness still saps my life > I thrust the spear through Kek's heart > he falls limp > I fade to darkness > the last thing I see is the body of Kek and the spear disintegrate > I find myself in a darkness > ruby eyes glow as a jackal headed man forms before me > he speaks, without speaking > "Anon, you have done well to stop Kek" I have passed > "Yes, but your time is not. You have been spared the afterlife, and shall be reborn, to guard those from unjust harm" I thank thee for your blessings > I awake, in a hospital bed > no one is present > I find I cannot move > a nurse enters the room > "oh good, you're finally awake" Why can I not move? > "well it seems that your fight drained a lot out of you. It's a wonder you're still alive at all" When will I recover? > "at least a few weeks, I'll have to ask the doctor" > "oh is he awake, how wonderful" Doctor, when will I recover? > "I'd say you can be removed from the hospital in two weeks, but you won't be able to do much for at least a month and a half" > I sigh my gratitude is with you doctor > the doctor replaces my IV, and I find myself sleepy > "We're keeping you on pain medicines, so you will be more tired" > I re-adjust my head, and fall asleep once more
