Twilight shouts. "Get down here, now!"       She doesn't have to tell Spike twice, he comes running from the upper floor of the library.       "I need a few minutes to pack up my books and equipment," says Twilight. Her horn lights up and the rotting hoof, along with a variety of tools, land in a nearby bag. She turns to you. "Sunny, you and Dash have to... stall them, or something!"       "Just do your bubble thing again!" snaps Rainbow Dash, who takes to the air. "Or why don't YOU stall them and WE pack?"       Twilight lets out a frustrated snort. "You don't know what I need to pack, AND you don't know what goes into a forcefield spell! "Well do what we can."       Twilight nods before turning back to her workbench. The whole lab seems to be packing itself up.       Rainbow Dash grumbles, but doesn't try to argue. The two of you race back up the stairs.       You burst on to the landing and see the first few more aggressive dead have already started battering the door and windows. One of them is half-way through a broken window, but Rainbow Dash slams into it and sends it flying back out again. "There's too many out there to fight," she growls. "Getting out from the ground's gonna be a nightmare!"       You look out a window, past the first few. Better than nothing.       Dash shrugs. "Worth a shot. It'd take more than a few walking dead ponies to bring me down!"       You shove the mop out the broken window and into the face of the dead pony trying to get back up. It loses balance again and falls over. You quickly jump out the window and land hooves-first on the corpse's head, which cracks open under the blow. It goes still.       Two more are trying to get in through the door, but Dash hits it like a ton of bricks and sends them scattering. A fourth, the last one trying to get in, turns away from the other window and makes a swing at Dash but she manages to dodge out of the way and deliver a sharp kick to the head. "Hah" she exclaims, grinning. "I'm up by two!"       Any enthusiasm drains quickly when the two of you turn to look at the approaching horde. There must be dozens, all coming this way. "Twi's got a bit of a stash, don't tell her I knew about it though!"       One rag in the bottle and one match to the end later, and Dash takes to the air with her molotov cocktail in hoof. She wheels over the heads of the dead, sneering and laughing. "Can't touch me!" she shouts.       Once she's satisfied, she hucks her improvised explosive through Big Bang's window and takes off back to the library. Smoke starts to billow out the broken window, and a few short seconds later the building erupts in colourful explosions.       Fire and force send the front ranks of the herd flying in all directions. Several of them catch on the spot and burst into flames. The noise and light seem to baffle the rest, distracting them.       "That oughta hold them for a minute or two," Dash says upon landing. One firework, a big red rocket, takes off and heads straight for the library. Spike clings to her for dear life, and all the books and lab equipment she managed to salvage floats just behind with a faint purple aura all around.       The fire does quite a bit for you – it roars loud and burns bright, and for a time the dead all throughout Ponyville seem distracted. There's two more bedrooms and a bathroom, and you take the time to stick your head in each - they're tidy and well-kept, no signs of trouble but also no signs of the Cakes or Pinkie.       Having cleared the second floor, you start down toward ground level. Now you see where the trouble started.       The main floor is a bakery, but now it looks more like a butcher's. There's several dead ponies scattered around, the rotten ones that had attacked the town. They've been mutilated and now lie still. Blood smears every free surface that isn't covered in cake or pie or some other confection.       The front door hangs off its hinges, and outside some of the dead are visible, but thankfully they're too far away to notice you yet.       "What's happened down there?" Dash whispers as she creeps down the stairs.       "Signs of a struggle," you reply. "I don't think the ponies you're looking for are here, though."       "There's got to be something," she mutters. With unexpected command, she shouts "Okay, people! We are leaving! Down this street, double-time!"       Rarity follows, watching you with uncertainty and perhaps fear.       Applejack lingers last. She looks down to Pinkie Pie, screaming and wailing, and back up to you. She leans in for a kiss, this time for real, before leaning back. "Bring'er home safe," she asks, and sets off after the others at full gallop.       You pull the screaming, crying Pinkie Pie on to your back. She's thrashing, but you can take it.       The herd is pushing their way through the flames. There's more than you remember, but you push on. You can still take it.       One of them breaks into a run, which is new. You awkwardly wheel around to face it and lash out with your hoof, a punishing blow that cracks its head on impact. Still taking it.       Pinkie's reduced herself to low, sad moans now, mumbling over and over. "We're already dead! We're already dead!"       >Keep going. You can handle it.     >You can't take it. You try to wheel around in time, but this one's got an angle on you and you know you'll be too slow.       "Already dead!" Pinkie screams.       You hear a shotgun blast from above and the dead one drops.       Rainbow Dash lands next to you. "Keep going! I've got you covered!" She fires again, and one in your way goes down. You pick up the pace and keep running.       "There's a ladder on the right!" Dash shouts over the sound of gunfire. "Take it! I'll carry Pinkie!"       You see the ladder. It's up the side of a long warehouse, connecting back with the main street. You make it to the bottom of the ladder and pause. Dash gets off another shot before landing nearby. She slings Pinkie over one shoulder and takes off. "Climb, damnit!"       What can you do? I don't think he was dead yet when he climbed through the window but he must've died afterward, because Mr. Cake went upstairs to get the nails and then he started screaming."       She pauses. The horde below is knocking each other apart just to paw the wall where the ladder had been.       "He came back down bleeding, and we pushed the fridge against the door, and the whole time it seemed like everything was going to be okay. Mr. Cake lost a lot of blood, though, and pretty soon he started getting sleepy. And when he woke up, well..."       Pinkie sighs.
