Regarding the Popular/Recent Stories list, you can either leave it be (since I won't be missing the creation of 2 threads in a row and I usually update it every thread) or you can change them yourself.
The way I sort them is by asking myself the following questions:
-Has the story received an update last thread?
-Has the story been getting lots of attention?
-Is the story of good quality?
If all these 3 are "yes" then go ahead and include the story in the list (I try to keep that list between 6-8 stories)
