[ Continued from: http://pastebin.com/6bvAev00 ]   Twilight rushed around the library, looking through every book she could think of. She still could not believe her own eyes when she witnessed the manticore turning to dust in front of her. The green flashes of magic she had seen emanate from inside the beast did not help her psyche either, knowing she had faced the same magic before, not too long ago either.   Spike silently looked outside, observing the gathering crowd of satyrs mumbling between themselves in confusion. His worrying expression only deepens as he walks towards the unicorn. "Are you sure about this, Twilight? I mean, if it really is what you're suspecting... Should't we, you know, gather the elements of Harmony?"   Spike's voice snaps her out of her panic as she sits down on her haunches in frustration. "I know, it's just... Remember the last time we had them all together for that? The magic surrounding the Elements themselves ended up useless. It was through sheer luck we pulled through, but with this many... did she call them Jupityrs? Anyway, with these able bodies we might actually stand a chance this time."   Spike utters a sigh of defeat as he begins collecting discarded books and tomes left behind. "If you say so. I only hope you know what you're doi--" "That's the THING! I don't know half of what happened! It should be impossible for anyone to come back from an explosion of that kind!"   Twilight takes a step back as she realizes that she's staring down the dragonling from within his comfort zone. Taking a deep breath, she looks at him again with much milder eyes. "I'm sorry. But we need an army for this task if he really is back. We can't alert the Princesses either, we were sent there to defeat him as a test in the first place."   Spike silently nods, putting down the books to sit on them. "Should I keep the house neat for when you return?"   Twilight smiles as she trots over to Spike. "No, I want you to follow me. We just need to clean it up before we leave. By the way, are the satyrs all gathered?"   Spike shrugs, hopping off the pile to check outside once more. "Not all of them last time I checked. But many of them had already gathered before we talked, so I think that they're done so-- wait, there's Glimmer! It looks like they've finished gathering them all!"   This sent the unicorn into a panicked overdrive as she scrambled to sort what she'd found.   ----   Icarus shouts once more at Glimmer, in hope of getting an answer this time around. "PLEASE tell me why I had to leave my game of Caves & Creatures! We were just getting to the good part! We met th--"   Glimmer slaps a hand over his mouth before the satyr can say more, staring down the pegasus spawn with an angry glare. "We don't know what she wants either, OKAY? Could you please shut up and follow us to the library where all the other satyrs are so we can find out?"   Icarus nods sheepishly as they approached the satyr crowd that Glimmer, Garret, and Cider had amassed.   As they move through the crowd, Icarus notes one he recognizes, sneaking away from the trio of satyrs that were headed towards the library.   The other satyrs begin noticing the three making their way through at around the same time, parting the way for them as they whisper amongst themselves about why they were brought here, what they had in mind when they brought them here, and when they could go home.   Glimmer had barely reached out for the doorknob before Twilight swung open the door, almost hitting the satyr as she bowled into her. Twilight greeted her with a warm "Watch where you're going you-- oh, Glimmer!"   Glimmer picked herself up and instinctively started picking up the books and papers the unicorn dropped. "We gathered as many as we could from Ponyville and outskirts, mother. Now please tell us why you wanted them."   Twilight takes a deep breath, exhaling as she approaches the crowd. "Everyone, please hear me out! While I know you've all had little time to get accustomed to your newfound abilities, I've found that Equestria may be in need of your combined talents! A potentially great threat has arisen to the northeast, and I intend to show it that you, our children, will give it an even harder time!"   Some of the satyrs in the crowd love the prospect of genuine adventures, causing them to cheer her on enthusiastically, whilst the pony crowd who are spectating seperately from the main crowd and other satyrs mumbled things like "What about the Elements," "Shouldn't we alert the princesses," and "Why satyrs, exactly?".   Twilight continues, bolstered by the pro-adventure supporters. "However, I will only take with me the satyrs who wants to prove themselves and their abilities! In short, who will volunteer?"   It takes a second for the message to sink into the crowd completely, but nine of them started to push their way through the crowd with varying amounts of willingness, followed by a tenth after all the others had gone up to stand beside the volunteers.   Twilight eyed the crowd with some skepticism, muttering "I'd expected a bit more eagerness out of them" under her breath, but nonetheless continues her speech. "If no one else wants to join us, then cheer for the others, wish them good luck on their journey! They fight for your place in the world!"   A wall of silence meets her at first, which gets broken by a few, insecure claps. Then they get bolstered to scarce golf claps, until the whole crowd was clapping with enthusiasm.   She smiled sincerely before bowing her head as she backed away to declare the announcement finished. Turning to her volunteers, her face got much more serious as she spoke to them. "Some of you may have heard this name before, but the evil unicorn known as Sombra has returned. I never expected him to come back, even after getting devastated by the power of the Crystal Heart, but it seems that a part of him must have survived. We must find the remaining part, and destroy it! Otherwise, rock creatures like the one Cider and Gar-- I mean, Vanguard faced will most certainly overrun the land."   A hand shot up from one of the volunteers, the voice of a female excitedly sharing "We fought one too!" with the rest accompanying it. Twilight almost got a whiplash from her head pivoting towards the voice. "What did you just say, Hope?"   The satyr happily wraps an arm around an unsure Candy, pulling her towards herself. "Candy and I, we found one of those creatures and we sent it flying to the Everfree. If it survived the impact, it won't get back out!"   Candy softly pushes against Hope's grip, attempting to get some space of her own. "But Hope, we actually summoned that. I don't think we can call that 'found'."   Twilight very briefly shivered almost unnoticeably as she moves up to the duo. "You... First off, were you the ones who made that thundercloud appear? Rainbow Dash almost had a panic attack, thinking she had lost her edge and let a wild cloud slip past her!"   Hope was now twiddling her thumbs, sheepishly nodding which only spurred on Twilight. "Summoning in itself is a highly risky form of magic! You could have gotten yourselves into serious trouble, you know!"   The unicorn takes a second to calm herself, before looking towards Hope and Candy once more. "What exactly did you try to summon? And what did you use as the implement for summoning? The more we know about this, the better."   As Hope takes a second to start explaining, Candy cuts in. "What Mistake and Hope tried to summon, rather. I saw her sneak off as I got home from a shopping trip, but mum started verbally assaulting me as soon as I stepped inside, so I know about the broken roof and the cost to repair it. What I couldn't find was the staff Hope wanted to use for her summoning attempt."   Hope and Twilight stares at her in stunned silence. Twilight moves to ask Candy something, but Hope speaks up first. "THAT was Mistake?! But we had turned into a jupityr and all! How can that be possible, then?"   Candy shrugs, knowing as much as Hope about it. "I think the answer lies in the fact that you fell unconscious afterwards. How did you feel after you woke u--"   Twilight hammers her hoof into the ground to shut the two up. "Let me SPEAK! You found a dubious staff, Hope summoned a creature which she and Mistake took care of it which knocked her unconscious. All I can think is that you might be the one who made the manticore appear as well, Hope."   Hope's cheerful demeanor was rapidly getting replaced by a more regretful one as Twilight spoke. The unicorn took notice of this as she started talking again. "Don't feel too bad, if you hadn't started all of this we would probably have noticed it too late. Tomorrow morning, I want all of you packed and ready to go. If any of you are able to get a hold of Mistake, I want you to tell her that as well."   Garret held up his hand. "I know where she'd usually hang out, but why exactly do you want to take her with us?"   Twilight smirked, knowing her past encounters with Changelings. "I'd like to meet one that isn't instantly trying to seem as evil as possible. Now, if there's no further questions for now, I wish you all a good day and good luck."   As the satyrs begin to disperse, Icarus stops in his tracks. "Luck, miss Twilight?"   The unicorn pointed towards the rest of the town as she gathered her books and research. "You're going to be looking for Mistake, who can change shape. I'd say that needs a bit of luck."
