>The sun shined down on the Canterlot ports.

>He was preparing to set off too battle without them leaving his little 6 year old daughter behind.
>Twilight was wiping the tears from her eyes with a tissue, but little Glimmer was oblivious to the situation.
>She turned to her mother with confusion to all this sudden sadness
>“M-Mummy…”
>Twilight slowly looked back at her and awaited her next sentence
>“Where is daddy going?”
>Twilight tried to come up with a way to tell her gently and not make her upset
>“H-He’s… Going away for a while.”
>Little Glimmer was still unaware of the situation and turned back to her father who was preparing >to set sail.
>He spoke to the pilot for a while then turned back to his family
>He came back to them and said his final goodbye
>“Well, guess this is it.”
>Twilight was still unable to handle it and began to cry for him again.
“Hey, don’t cry Twilight, I’ll be back, and you know it.”
>He winked to her and she smiled back
>Glimmer playfully giggled as the knight placed his hand on her hair and messed her hairstyle up
>“Dad!”
>She called out giving him a scolding
>He simply laughed at her with Twilight laughing with him
>He knelt down to her level and pulled something out of his pocket
“See this, this object is important to me.”
>He showed her a small purple star made of glass that resembled Twilights cutie mark
“I want you to have, look after it for me okay?”
>Glimmer took it gently and attempted to look through it
>“Okay daddy!”
“That’s my girl, take care of your mother for me.”
>Glimmer was slowly starting to understand what was happening, the confusion made her feel a little upset.
“D-Daddy!”
>The knight sighed and smiled back down to her
>“Where are you going daddy?”
“Away for a while.”
>”W-Why!”
“I’m needed in a kingdom far away.”
 
>”B-But!”
“Hush now Glimmer, I’ll be back, don’t worry.”
>Glimmer nodded and sniffled
>she went to her mother’s side and hugged her tightly
>The knight started to walk back to the flying ship awaiting departure
>As the knight took one step onto the ladder Glimmer burst out in tears and ran to him
>”Daddy!”
>he stopped and turned around witnessing his daughter in tears running straight towards him
>He knelt down and caught her in mid-air as she jumped into him
>“I’ll miss you daddy!”
“I’ll miss you too!”
>she hugged her dad tight and kissed his cheek
>”Promise you’ll come back dad!”
>He smiled and chuckled holding back his own tears
“Of course, I’ll return.”
>He wiped her tears away and stood up
“Go on, I have to go now Glimmer.”
>She nodded and slowly walked away back to her mother
>She stopped to turn around
>”Love you daddy!”
>He smiled and waved
“Love you to”
>he turned back around and climbed onto the ship
>he ran to the side and looked back down to his family
>he waved his final goodbye as they waved back
>The ship started to set sail in the wind and the knight sniffled to himself
“I’ll come back for you both, don’t ever forget that.”
>He whispered to himself and turned to walk around the ship
>”M-mummy will he really come back?”
>Twilight smiled
>”Yes, he left the most important thing to him in the world behind.”
>Glimmer took out the object he handed her before
>”You mean this?”
>Twilight chuckled and shook her head
>”No, he left you behind.”
>Glimmer smiled and hugged Twilight
>”Now then, let’s go home.”
