The main6 meet a deer called Aidan Smoothleaf, with his cat Pangur Ban. He shows them the deer civilization and have some fun before the constellation festival with the macguffin begins.
The festival gets interrupted by a hungry shapeshifting constellation which absorbs the celestial dust, countless
deers and steals an artefact giving it access to the constellations.
Main6 and Smoothleaf go to defeat the beast with help from the king's guards and a special chant if the creature isn't stopped then every star will die. They go in the astral plane by turning into phantoms. There the rest get captured but not Fluttershy, Twilight and Smoothleaf. They use the chant and various tricks available in that world, till Luna and Celestia come to help them buy some extra time. The creature bursts into a geyser of stars and releases all the captured deer and ponies.

While in the Whitetail Woods, Spike and Rarity run into some deer who start to charge at them. Rarity and Spike get separated, where Spike finds himself face to face with an angry “deer” named Treebark. The mane 6 go to meet the deer to find that Treebark is really a colt who believes that he’s a deer. After talking amongst themselves, they decide to have Treebark experience life in Ponyville. After a fight with some mane 6 pony, he realizes that he really is a pony and runs off. The mane 6 realize that they were forcing him to be a pony. Treebark cries by a fountain in Ponyville with his “temporary antlers” taken off. He sees a pony who needs to find something. He uses his tracking talents to help her find what she’s looking for. Another pony sees. Treebark then helps several ponies find what they need. Treebark realizes that it’s OK to be a pony; his family will still love him.

Spike goes missing. Through much sluthework, the 6 bitchingest ponies in all Equestria find out almost all dragons have been found, or rather not found, missing. They are all in Muneihc, as later revealed, to be brainwashed and used as essentially slave labour to power forges and create talismans to power the huge Mecha-hitler (Hoofler) deer they are creating in an attempt to bring forth the new Cervidae riche. Spike sees his friends, ‘wakes up’, wakes the other dragons, and leads a revolt.The dragons and Deer army fight, the Mecha is destroyed, and the dragons are proclaimed heroes. Celestia rewards them with mineral rights outside Ponyville.

Fluttershy finds a pony in the woods living with a herd of Deer and appears to be wearing antlers made from branches. Not knowing what to do, she gets a few of her friends involved to investigate this deer pony. After meeting the pony and/or his deer parents, they convince him/them to let their son visit Ponyville where Rainbow Dash and Applejack get into an argument about what to do with him. Applejack takes the position of sending him back to his family because she feels that the group deceived them about why they wanted to take the pony to Ponyville while Rainbow Dash believes that a pony living with deer isn’t right and that he should be with his own people. The pony in question (Tree Bark) doesn’t enjoy all of his time spent at Ponyville and because of what Rainbow has said has doubts about himself and his family.  Despite the truth of anything said, the pony talks with his parents and confesses he understood that he isn’t a deer but he loves his family and doesn’t want to leave them. Insert moral of the story.
