>You are Twilight >You took off from Fluttershy's spreading the word to your circle of friends about Spike beginning to grow wings. > At his request, he wanted to make you stop at Rarity's first. >She's Spike's true love, and you don't blame him to want to announce a life-changing event like this to her first. >Flapping your wings, you see the tall, lavishly decorated studio below. >You glide down and eventually touch the ground in front of Carousel Boutique. >You take your hoof and knock on the door. *KNOCK* *KNOCK* >A small white filly with bare flanks opens the door. >"Hi Twilight!" She greets. "Oh, Hello Sweetie Belle. Is your sister around?" >"She's busy pushing pins into mannequins right now so-" >That's all you needed to hear. >You spread your wings out and flap them once, the lift providing you with the clearance to jump over the unicorn filly and into her studio floor. "Thank you!" >You run around the corner to see Rarity facing several pony mannequins on the wall, using her magic to levitate some scissors to snip off some excess fabric on her upcoming autumn line. "Rarity! There you are! I need you to-" >"Twilight, darling! You must've come here to see this fall's fashion statements! I already have an incoming commission from Seaddle right here-" "Rarity!" >You bring her back into focus. >"What is it, Twilight?" "It's about Spike." >"Spike? Oh no." she said with a pang of annoyance in her voice. "Did he take pictures of my face and tape them onto my modeling magazines again?" "He did what?" you asked, confused by this act. >As the fashionista was about to speak again, you interrupt. "Never mind. Spike's hurt, and he wants you by his side." >Rarity sighed "Hmmm.....a young gentle-dragon wishes to be with his lady as he toils in trauma. How thoughtful. I'll come along. I'm ahead of schedule anyway." "Great! He's going to love you this. Head to Fluttershy's right away. He's under her care." >"On it!" Rarity confirmed. >The two mares galloped out of the store when Sweetie Belle popped behind them and asked >"Hey! Where are you two going?" >"Spike's got hurt, Sweetie Belle." Rarity explained. "Twilight's taking me to him. I'll be back." >"Ooohhh! Can I come? I wanna see if I can get my dragon medicine cutie mark!" >You were about to reject her request when Rarity came up to you. >"It's better if she comes along, under our supervision. I don't want another repeat of ...." >A chill went down her spine >"Taco Tuesday" "Taco Tuesday?" you inquire. >A several of memories from several months back flashed before Rarity's mind: The Fire Ponies, all that Salsa, trying to scrub it out of Opal's fur...... >"You don't want to know." She answers. "Fine. Bring her along." >"Yay!" Sweetie Belle cheers as she runs up to Rarity. "Alright. You two head over to Fluttershy's I'll go find the others." >"Okay. And Twilight, What happened to Spike?" "Spike's growing up! His dragon wings are growing in!" you shouted back. >"THEY ARE?!" yells a high-pitched, chipper voice from the bush right next to you. >Popping out at the same time as the exclamation was a pink earth pony with balloons pictured on her back legs. "Well, we found Pinkie." You say. "Go to Fluttershy's with Rarity. I'll get Rainbow and Applejack." >"And I'll get my Gonna Get Wings Party Banner!" Pinkie Pie exclaims as she grabs a roll of paper from the bush she was hiding in. >You will NEVER get what makes that pony tick. >Fuckin' Quantum Magic is easier to understand. ".....Right. See you there!" >You spread your wings and soar up to the clouds to try to find Rainbow Dash. >If any pony is thrilled to have another pony- or dragon flying in the skies with her soon, it's her. >Flying over to the Pegasus Athlete's cloud mansion to the north, you knock on the dense nebular door. "Dash, open up! I have big news!" >No answer. '>You knock again, and still no reply. >She's probably flying around somewhere, like always. >Better try the lake first. > Just before you resume your search, you catch a white sheet of cloud on the ground behind her abode, too thick to be fog. >Did Rainbow do this? Better check it out. >You swoop down to see Rainbow Dash hovering 2 meters above the ground, barking commands at an orange-colored Pegasus filly. >"Come on squirt! Flap those wings fully, you Hummingbird!" >She's trying this again? >Scootaloo's wings still aren't large enough for that. >Although, as you descended, she's staying airborne for longer than 5 seconds. "Dash!" you flutter in. "Spike's getting wings!" >"Huh?" Rainbow asked, Scootaloo dropping to the cloud layer below her, cushioning the fall. "I said, Spike's getting his Dragon Wings!" >"That is so awesome! Scootaloo's gonna have a flying buddy! I can't wait to show Spike how to perform a 2160° barrel roll! "Rainbow! Spike has to push them out of his skin first! And it's a painful process and wants us to be there for him." >"Well, I can't say I shouldn't decline this but," >"Rainbow Dash! I thought you were gonna teach me how to fly! Not Spike!" exclaimed Scootaloo from below! "You can come along Scootaloo. Sweetie Belle will be there." >"Really? Well, come on Dash! Let me ride you!" >Scootaloo buzzed her little wings so that she rose just above her surrogate "big sister" before needing to fall back down, grabbing onto her shoulders. >"Where to?" Rainbow asked Twilight. "Fluttershy's House. You'll meet Pinkie and Rarity inside. I just gotta go get Applejack." >"See you there!" >Dash darted off like a falcon for her friend's earthen cottage. "Four down, One to go." You say. >Better have her bring Applebloom along too. >After flying across town to Sweet Apple Acres in the Southwest, you start combing through the sparsely spaced trees before spotting two familiar ponies. >One orange with a hat, and one yellow with a bow. >"You're hitting too far from the left." Applejack directed as watched little sister buck a tree. >"Yo' left or mah left?" Applebloom wondered. >"Mah left, Yer right." The older pony answered. >"Ah was right about what?" >Applejack just rolled her eyes. >You descend and touch down in front of the two earth ponies. >"Howdy Twi. Whatchyall doin' here?" asked Orange Applebutt. "Spike needs our help. Both of you need to come." >"Uh, Twi? I don't know if y'all haven't figgured it out yet, but you're an alicorn princess with neah-unlimited magic powers. I'm shoa y'all can just heal Spike's writin' cramp or spank him if he put them Rarity photos in those magazines of yers." >Dafuq is this magazine thing about? "But-" >"B'sides, I'm givin' Applebloom an Applebuckin' lesson here, and we're gonna be fallin' short of weekly quota if you keep holdin' us up." >You waste no time at all to telekinetically grasp every single apple still hanging on a tree in a 300 yard radius from your location. >With only a slight nod of your head, you pluck them all off their stems without bruising and place hundreds, if not thousands of apples in baskets and carts. "All done. Let's go." >"Hold it, pardner!" Applejack commanded. "What in the hay is this all about?" "Spike's hurting. He's starting to grow his Dragon Wings in." >"Ahr little Spike, becoming a big dragon, eh?" "That's right. And he needs all of our support. All our other friends are at Fluttershy's house, treating him." >"Al-raht. But Why does Applebloom need to tag along?" "The other Crusaders are there, too. Wouldn't be the same without the full set." >"Ah can come? Yee-haw!" squeaked Applebloom. "Great. Now both of you, stand right next to me." >The two farmer ponies stood on either side of you. >You cast your horn, charging up a spell. >It glowed a garnet aura before giving off a dazzling white shine. >"Twilight? Are you gonna teleport us again?" >Too late, Applepone. >In a surge of arcane energy, the three of you disappear from time and space, only to reappear in front of the animal ranger's cottage a split second later. >Without a thought, You barge into the door to see 6 other ponies gathered around your #1 assistant. >Applebloom ran around you to meet up with her other Crusader friends. "How is he?" you ask. >"I had to take the ice bags off." Fluttershy said. "They were preventing the alacarpals from being able to be pushed out from the skin layer." "Let me see." >You parted away through the small crowd to see your young dragon asleep face down on her couch. >Along his sensitive back were 2 raised bumps, each about a third of the way down his back, and barely half a hoof's length away from his spine. >No doubt they were the bones Fluttershy was talking about. "How long has he been asleep for?" >"Oh, about an hour. Let him rest. We shouldn't agitate him any further." >You turned to face the white unicorn. "Rarity, did he get to see you?" you whisper. >"Spikey-Wikey was in pure agony when I showed. Only when he saw my face and held my hoof, could he smile and stop crying." "Thank you, Rarity. Your very presence calms him better than any non-medicine I would have for him." >" Don't mention it, darling." >"How long's it gonna be until he grows those bad boys out and start flying?" asked the ever-flight-advocating Rainbow Dash. >"Don't know. I've never seen any dragon undergo this change before." >"Can't y'all use magic to help 'im?" Asked Applebloom. "Not risking it. This kind of magic on a non-pony species? There's no telling what it could do to him." >*GASP* >It came from Sweetie Belle. >"Would he die if you did that?" "I can only say that it would be extremely painful." >"Aw, Come on," said Scootaloo, trying to shrug it off. "He's a big dragon." "For you.", you reply with a slightly irritated tone. "Point is, we can only wait this one out, and we have to let him sleep." >"Awwww........" said Pinkie Pie. "I already out the banner up!" >Looking up, you spotted a long, paper banner pinned from each side of the archway that connected Fluttershy's living room with her kitchen. It read: >CONGRATULATIONS ON BEGINNING TO GROW IN YOUR WINGS PARTY! >Written in with a green marker, and had 2 images of purple bat wings drawn in from each side of the block of text. "Sorry, Pinkie. No parties yet. But we're here for Spike. That's all that matters." >Every pony in the room turn to watch the young reptilian, ensuring a peaceful slumber. >He shivered and winced for a brief moment to feel another bodily contraction pushing through.
