"Not much to write down about today.   The servants here don't seem to mind a strange, foreign creature all that much here.  I'm led to believe they serve many different creatures from all around the world as diplomatic guests to the Princesses.  This raises the question of just how many species are sapient here, though I probably won't see more than a few.   Celestia and I spent a few hours between breakfast and lunch talking about our worlds.  She had me start, her reason being that she could help integrate me into this world understanding my point of view..."   ------------------------   >It was a beautiful day, perfect for sitting out in the garden with tea. The garden itself matched the grandeur of the rest of the castle; perfectly rectangular hedges, some cut into shapes of ponies or gryphons or other creatures you didn't recognize. >You couldn't think of a color the bountiful flowers didn't bring to the scene.  They were in all directions, even the three-dimensionals.  There were flowers on the ground, throughout the hedges, and hanging off verandas. >It was wonderful to your eyes and your nose.  The tranquility of it all finalized the wonder, lending itself to a private conversation between two dignitaries, or two close friends. >You're not completely sure which Celestia regards you as.  You take a sip of tea before you start.  You weren't big into tea back on Earth, but damn this was good. Well, where to start?  From what I've seen, humans are more...cynical, than the ponies here. >"I'm not sure what you mean, Anon." See, right there, a Princess on Earth wouldn't be so friendly.  She'd be business-like, detached.  In fact, she probably wouldn't even acknowledge me unless she needed something from me. >"It's not like that with all humans, I hope?" She really seems concerned, but there's no reason for her to be... Well, no, I suppose not. We typically have some friends, though for the most part people won't talk to other people unless they want something. >"I'm getting the impression you mean something besides just company?" Right. >The few seconds of silence that followed rang loud.  Good moment for another sip, but it won't hide the lack of anything to say. >"You don't seem to have very high opinions of humans." Very observant, this one. Is she looking for a reason to throw you in the dungeons? I spent my life being cheated and betrayed. You would probably think the same after twenty years of it. >".....oh..." Woah, was she actually holding back tears? >Focus, don't be fooled >"So by extension then you must be suspicious of my motives?" >Mid-drink was probably a bad time to gasp.   >She chuckles at your attempts to simultaneously expell tea and inhale air. >"I can see why you're suspicious, after what you've been through.  But I'm sure you'll find that we aren't like that here." >You give a slight nod.  We'll see about that, Princess. >"I'm glad you're at least willing to give us a chance.  You must be a kind soul to still be willing to give chances." >While the complement is nice, you hope she's not trying to flatter you. >"Tell me more about your world, Anon."   ------------------------   "In the whole of our time together, I told Celestia what Earth was like. I told her of our technological progress, our lack of magic, how humans interact with each other, the whole bit. She took particular interest in our cynicism, seemingly sad about how we hold everyone at arm's length. I've never thought someone could genuinely care, but I'm starting to think it's not an act. She seems sure I won't feel the same way about the people here. Or, ponies? Nomenclature is weird.   After lunch, Celestia had to hold court so I made my way to the library and started reading up on pony history. Apparently the Princesses are actually a unique, divine sort of race called Alicorns, whereas all the other 'ponies' only have one of the special aspects of these Princesses. I have only gotten through the uniting of the races so far, but it seems our history isn't all that different."
