"I know I'm right, but rest up a little, I'm taking command this time." You say as you nap on the couch.
Fifteen minutes later you're awoken by Twilight and Rainbow.
"Ah, come to withdraw the challenge before it starts?" You ask as you sit up.
"N NO! You're on!" Rainbow said and stormed out.
"Princess Luna told me of your bond with Morgan, are you really going to fly against Rainbow?" Twilight asked you nod.
"If she's going to trash talk me for saying that I'm a good pilot, I'll show her what I'm capable of on the wings that are essentially mine." You say as you look over at Morgan, who's napping lightly on the big couch.
"Twilight, if she's got any sort of brain, she'd back out, save herself the shame of being blown out." You say as Twilight frowns.
"If I turned you into one of them who would you look like?" Twilight asked.
"Morgan." You say without hesitation.
"Why her? Isn't she ADFX-01?" Twilight asked.
"Her predecessor, ADFX-01, Morgan's an ADFX-02, there's no cosmetic difference, but there's a world of internal differences. Twilight, turning me into one of them is something I'd love, but then I couldn't do my job for them, and I'd soon hate it." you say hoping she understands.
"So you'd rather stay stuck on the ground, destined to fix all of their accidents?" Twilight asked.
"Yea, I'm happy with what I do and wouldn't want it any other way. By the way, I'd go check on Rainbow, Morgan and I will be out in a little bit." You say and get her out of your home before going down to the basement.
"Dad, how about you don't use that again. Fly from inside of me." Morgan said stopping you at the stairs to your basement.
"Are you sure?" You ask uncertain of where she's going with this.
"Well, Luna may have told Twilight of the link between you and I, and I just think it'd be safer if you were with me physically not remotely. You know in case someone goes snooping around?" Morgan said making a more than fair argument.
"Good point. Wouldn't want the link interrupted, besides, they may be expecting me to pop out of your head." You say as you turn to go over to Morgan.
"One thing though."
"Yea?"
"Is this going to be different from the other times you've been with me?" Morgan asked slightly concerned.
"Shouldn't same system is in place. So I don't think there should be too big of a difference if at all." You say as that makes her smile.
"Then get in. We've got a few minutes left." Morgan said sliding back the access to her cockpit, a dark, cramped space meant for you to lie down and link with her
"Right, Here we go." You say as you slide into her and set everything up for the link. As per normal, you close your eyes, and when you open them again, you're seeing through Morgan's
"Alright, let's go kick some Pegasus ass." You say as Morgan giggles
"Your voice sounds different this time." Morgan said though to you it sounded the same as always, sounded like her.
"Whaddya mean?" You ask wondering what difference she could hear
"You sound like me again." Morgan said as it's your turn to laugh slightly
"Well, try because I wasn't talking before, just thinking and letting that go through." You say as the two of you stand up and walk out
"Oh right, I forgot about that, I was just hearing your voice and well just thought you were talking to me." Morgan said as she smiled, which you could feel.
"Alright where is she?" Morgan asks for you.
"Can't he talk?" Twilight asked
"He can, but he'll sound exactly like me, so you wouldn't know if he's talking or not." Morgan said
"Alright then Anon, you in there?" Twilight asked.
"Yea, I'm here ya purple nerd." You say as Morgan covers her mouth.
"Dad, try to cut out the insults, I don't do that." Morgan said as you laugh to yourself.
"So where's Rainbow, I want to know what kind of challenge she wants." you say as the loudmouth comes up and tells you what the challenge is.
"Alright you, here's the challenge, fastest time through that course I made, then we'll know the winner." Rainbow said as you and Morgan analyzed the course.
"Some of the obstacles seem a bit unfair to us. We can navigate them, but they seem a bit too narrow for us." Morgan said as her analysis of them was better than yours.
"Well, shouldn't be too difficult for Anon to navigate." Rainbow said condescending to you.
"Thing is, Morgan and I can, but it just feels like you're cheating." You say as you give the course a second look, she was. Couldn't lose to you there due to some of the knife edge flying was too narrow for Morgan.
"Rainbow you're not trying to cheat him out of a fair challenge are you?" Twilight asked making Rainbow sweat.
"She is." Morgan said there are turns in that course that are impossible for both of us to complete. Rainbow and I cannot hope to make them, Dad is crazy enough to try, and he just may. But that course she built, it plays advantage to her small size almost exclusively." Morgan said blowing the course out of the water.
"Then what do you suggest?" Twilight asked.
"A game." Morgan said.
"What game?" Rainbow asked.
"Chase and avoid. Open skies, just use how maneuverable you are to chase the other and avoid being chased. If I can stay behind you for more than five minutes, we win. If you can stay behind me for three minutes, you win. Time does not add up, it must be in one single span." You say knowing you could potentially out maneuver Rainbow.
"Alright you're on. When and where?" Rainbow said accepting her own downfall at your hands.
"Five minutes, above the strip." you say
"We'll come in at different angles and then we shall begin the game, remember I have to stay on you for two more minutes than you've got to stay on us. I hope you're ready for a challenge Rainbow." You say as Morgan points to the direction she'll be coming from, allowing Rainbow to take the opposite.
"Cake walk. Follow a pegasus for five minutes, you'll tire her out before we get to minute three." Morgan said as she took off.
"And if we do?" You say
"Then they'll learn the hard way." Morgan said as you laugh before reaching two and a half minutes out to turn around.
"You want to harass the Pegasus or do ya want me to do it?" You ask as Morgan's just cruising through the air
"She challenged you, I'm just your ride. There's a blow out soon." Morgan said as her controls were now yours.
"Alright then, let's give them a lesson they won't soon forget." You say rolling down to drop altitude and fly back towards the runway
"Plan is, I'm going to let her have thirty seconds on us then it's shutout time." You say as you decelerate to get a look around to see where she could be.
"Got you now!" She said as she appeared on your six. You accelerate to gain speed for maneuvers, and when the timer hits thirty seconds, you pull into a Kulbit, backflipping to get behind her as it's now her turn to go faster.
"Wasn't expecting that were you?" Morgan says as her normally calm quiet voice goes slightly bloodthirsty
You follow her closely for three minutes, and what she does is unexpected, she goes towards the sound barrier. Her maneuvering at mach 1 will be very limited, where as yours is the same, just very touchy on the controls
"Supersonic flight won't help you Rainbow." You call out after her as you both break the barrier at about the same time, and she keeps accelerating up to mach 2 and then she hits her wall, where as you've still got .7 mach to go.
The timer now reaches 4 min 30 seconds, just thirty seconds to win
Rainbow drops and goes to kill speed hoping you'd overshoot
But you expected that from her, as she sits there looking forward expecting to see you blasting by, instead she looks behind her to a disappointing sight, you and Morgan nose up slowing down faster than she is, and there is nowhere she can go, 4 min 59 seconds, Rainbow tries to climb to make you lose the count, but you and Morgan react faster than she can, you're still behind Rainbow, and now you're over five minutes as she's incredibly frustrated over the airstrip.
After you both land, you crawl out of Morgan and onto her back
"Told you I could put a Pegaus to shame on their wings." You say completely shocking them all, except of course for Twilight and Princess Luna.
"That's not fair you cheated." Rainbow said as you laugh
"Cheated? No, it was perfectly fair, it's just something got inside your head, and let us take advantage of that. Flying's not just about being in the air, sometimes it's psyching the other out." You say letting the experience of taking down T-50 color your words
"It was a fair match Rainbow. Their speed matched yours, and I'm surprised you didn't try to shake them off your tail." Twilight said actually being an unbiased judge.
"So I lost...." Rainbow said rather distraught.
"In a game in which they both told you to rethink before going through with. Did your competitive spirit get in the way of rational thought?" Princess Luna said as you're just sitting on Morgan's back.
"He said he was better than me! I couldn't just let him say those things." Rainbow said as now it was your turn to speak
"So you challenge the deadliest things on this planet to a competition you can't hope to win unless you cheat, which you tried, and then in a fair competition of which you could have won, you chose to freeze and try to out run us." you say blowing holes in Rainbow's thoughts
"And that is what we call getting blown out." Morgan said as Rainbow had no response
"What was that move where you backflipped to get behind me?" Rainbow asked wondering about how you and Morgan beat her.
"That is called a Kulbit. A very tight diameter loop. Helps when you've got full control of your thrust. Well, except for hovering that's kinda overrated for most of these plane ponies." You say telling her what you did.
"Is it possible for a Pegasus to do that?" Rainbow asks.
"Well yes, but it's going to take one hell of a lot of practice, and I don't have the time to teach you." You say as Morgan carries you off to your shop with the others close behind.
 
2000 hrs. Raptor's.
"Raptor what was all that ruckus earlier? Sounded like two sonic booms." Nora asked as Raptor returned from a supply run.
"One of those visiting ponies challenged Anon, it lost horribly. It was a blow out. She had thirty seconds of time before Morgan and Anon shut her down for good." Raptor said as she was putting things neatly away.
"Wow, wish I went out to see that. Must have been a poor show by the pegasus. Was it in front of their group?" Nora asked.
"Yea it was, the pegasus got blown out in front of them. From what I heard from the Migs it was one hell of a show. upwards of mach 2 and still Anon blew her out of the water." Raptor said as she continued to unpack the supplies.
"Shit, and we missed that? Damn. What a day. First having to go to anon because of resetting avionics, then I miss him blow a Pegasus outta the sky figuratively and what else am I going to miss?" Nora said a little disappointed.
"Oh you didn't miss much, the pegasus didn't cry or nothing. Was just really upset at losing." Raptor said as she finished putting the supplies away and focused her attention on Nora.
"Didn't Anon say for you to be resting." Raptor said as Nora laughed.
"He said no flying, not bed ridden you dolt." Nora said laughing at her.
 
2000hrs. VTOL hangar.
"Can't believe Brezhnev wanted us to dance around in front of those ponies." Sergei said as Lightning was asleep
