"Well when would be a good day I'll work my schedule around it." Twilight said as you started to laugh in disbelief. "Look Twilight, the way things work around here, I don't get days off, I work around my schedule, if I'm lucky I get a sick day or three. Luckily for me, they can't catch my illnesses, and I can't catch theirs." You say as you get to the hangars. "We can decide for selves." Mriya said. "Sadie do you ever talk much?" You ask. "Of course I do hon, I've just been told I can be a little long winded in conversations, so ah figure it'd be best if I stayed quiet and let Mriya do a lot of the talkin for us." Sadie says as you now almost regret asking her. "Well alright then, I'll let you all settle in. There's a phone with the number to both my office and cell programmed inside. Feel free to call me if you need anything from me." You say as they thank you and you now begin to walk back to your shop with Twilight behind you.   1000hrs. Your shop. You're in your small office that you use to escape from the plane ponies as they can't enter it, they're too large. Only issue is the other ponies here are small enough to enter. "What did you want Twilight?" You ask as you're at a desk. "Actually I forgot, but it's Princess Twilight." she said as she sat in the chair across from you. "So why come all the way here if you're just going to forget why you came to bother me in the first place?" You ask showing your irritation for her being here. "Well, actually now I have my own interest in Avalon's Shadow." Twilight said as you were at least happy she respected your name for the place. "Thank you for using the name." You say as she looks at you with a confused look. "Hardly anyone ever calls this place Avalon's Shadow. Just me and a few of the ponies do. I'm the one who calls this place Avalon's Shadow, and that name stuck for me, everyone else, well they like to forget that Avalon ever existed." You say as you clear the air a slight bit. "Well, I have this interest in this place you see..." Twilight said as she trailed on as the doors to your shop burst open. It was Saber. If he's in that means one thing he tried to go supersonic and failed yet again. "Twilight, that's going to have to wait, I've got an emergency." You say as you separate from your chair faster than a fatty after a doughnut. "Sorry Anon, I did it again." Saber said as his help placed him on the floor. "I can see that Saber, your engine isn't powerful enough to go super. This is what? The third time you've tried? Well, let me start replacing the panels and get you back in the air." You say as you inspect the damage, probably a broken actuator in his right hind leg, and a bit of crash damage to his intake, but thankfully he had a flame out and was not sucking in anything. Twilight watches you work from your office as you methodically remove and replace broken panels, lights and actuators to take the damaged F-86 back to a flyable state. Took you two and a half hours to repair him. "There you are Saber. You keep this up and that throttle lock I threatened you with last time is going to be installed. " You say jokingly as you could never do that to him unless he asked. "Heh, may have to take you up on that threat if I do it again, at least it'd make me learn to slow down and stay away from mach 1." Saber says as he gives you a tap and walks out. "Amazing. Are they bio-mechanical or just mechanical?" Twilight asked as you're now very confused. "They're alive, they've got a beatin heart if that's what you're wondering. I haven't seen it, but I know it's there." You say as you look down on Twilight in confusion. "So you're here to study them?" You say "Excuse me?" Twilight said. "You're here to examine them. To see how they work, to know what hurts them." You say with a slight tone of anger that's very well hidden. "What? No! What are you saying? I don't want to hurt them I just want to know them." Twilight said as you gave her a look of distrust. "Princess Celestia says you can be dangerous." "And she's right. If you trust Sunbutt so much why are you here alone talking to me?" You ask. "Because, I don't think you are a danger to us." "Who says I'm not?" "I am. The way you just repaired that pony, such care and compassion for it. Your methods of repair are superb, and your knowledge of how each and every part attaches is encyclopedic." Twilight said trying to make you believe that you weren't a threat to anyone. "Twilight, if you think I'm not a threat, give me a single reason why I shouldn't just bash one of your skulls in now?" You say very irate with what she's saying. "Your daughter will stop you. She and Princess Luna are friends, if you killed one of us, Celestia would ban Luna from talking to Morgan." Twilight said and was unfortunately dead on with the single reason you wouldn't. Morgan's happiness means the world to you, and you couldn't take that away from her "Perhaps I am of no danger to you all, but take your Princess' warning to heart, you cross me, and it's the last thing you'll ever do" You say making sure the point gets across "Ah, lunch" You say as if on cue Morgan and Thunderbolt come in with your lunch. "Dad I hope you don't mind if Luna joins us for lunch." Morgan said as she shifted to show the Princess sitting on her back. "Of course not my dear. Twilight run along to your friends" You say pushing her towards the door with your leg "But I want to know about them." Twilight said "If you want to know about us, go as Sergei, but you'll have to separate him from Ludmila. He seems highly attached to that Mi-8" Thunderbolt said as you were now physically pushing Twilight out of your shop. "But I want to learn from Anon." Twilight said as she teleported deeper into your shop. "Leave us be Twilight Sparkle." Princess Luna said forcing Twilight from your shop. "Alright Princess, but I will be back later Anon. I hope you're ready to teach." Twilight said. "If you can keep up with how fast I work, then I just may, but, I work fast, precisely but fast." You say with a smile on your face as you shut the doors. "Thank you Princess Luna. I was beginning to think she'd never leave." You say as Morgan lies down for Luna to get off of her back. "For a while, so was I. Should have seen her on the ride over, she got one glimpse of the ponies and wanted to know how they work in comparison with us." Luna says as you start to wonder if jumping to conclusions with Twilight was such a good idea. "You'll have to forgive me, I've just had bad experiences with you ponies and well, some of those wounds never really healed." You say as you scratch the back of your head. "What experiences?" The three of them ask you "Well, let's just say how I arrived wasn't under the best of circumstances. I've let on to a freak storm bringing me here, but I never landed properly. That storm damaged the aircraft I was in, test flying a rebuilt F-5, unfortunately loaded with fuel. I lost control and tried to point the aircraft in a safe direction for me to ditch it, but the Pegasi in the area forced me towards Canterlot. It was hell just trying to avoid hitting them with the rocking aircraft. I tried to keep it under my control as long as I could, but with the controls going out and a flaming engine behind me, I had to bail. Princess Luna, can you care to guess where the plane and I landed?" You say explaining the specifics of how you got here. "That aircraft destroyed the north tower of the castle, you came down in the courtyard." Luna said sympathetic to your plight. "And when I landed, I was surrounded and blamed for an attack on the castle that I never intended to cause." you say "I stayed captive by the guards for a while. I tried to explain my case to Celestia, but the aircraft struck right in a weak point of the tower, how was I supposed to know where the F-5 would fall?" You say as you start to shake with anger. "You didn't, you saved yourself." Luna said. "There's so many what ifs about that day that I try to shut from my mind, what if I had managed to get out over the middle of nowhere and bail safely, what if the F-5 missed the tower, what if I didn't carry so much fuel. All things that are irrelevant, I was blamed for the destruction of the tower and part of the library that had students in it at the time. I hate myself for what I have done, but I could not live peacefully with the ponies if they would label me a terrorist, and a murderer. I wasn't any of those things, I was a mechanic, a test pilot, in the right place, at the wrong time. Your sister treated me the harshest, while I was captive, she ordered that the guards beat me, being physically weaker than you ponies, that was rather easy, they let me fight back, use spears even, but every time I did I would just get beat on worse. So, when I had a chance to run, I took it, and for a while I was forgotten, working as I was on a small island of civilization far from the rest of the world. I had found my peace. I doubt your sister forgot what she thinks I did. If she still has the black box from the F-5 I can prove I had no control of it when it hit the tower. Then again, what good is it going to do me? The guards hate me, they'll most likely beat me to a bloody pulp on the spot, for something I never wanted to happen. If only I had crashed it in the woods, or just stayed with it until it exploded. All of the suffering would never have happened." You say as you're still shaking with anger. "Dad, I..." "Morgan, I'm sorry, if you want to leave, go ahead, but if you do, make sure to rip my heart out so I don't have to go on living here" you say. "Dad, I won't leave you. What I want to say is I'm sorry they treated you like that. I never knew that you know how it feels to be an outsider." Morgan said as she teared up. "Hey, now don't you cry baby, I'll take care of ya as long as I can." You say as you go and try to comfort Morgan. "Anon. Celestia had me see what was in those orange boxes, Twilight managed to get the data from them. It did show that you were not at fault, but she couldn't let the destruction go unpunished. You took the blame that was meant for the pegasai that lead you there. I understand why you dislike us so." Luna said as you were more concerned with Morgan. "I have this distrust because I work with the very same things that brought me here and caused so much damage in the first place. Ironic that I try and defend them from themselves, trying to stop a battle that can never be won." You say as you're wiping away Morgan's tears. "Be that as it may, you lived with us before moving away. Why?" Luna asked. "I tried to show I wasn't what you all said I was. The problem was, that's all you saw me as. The stories of me single handedly destroying the tower and part of the library spread like wildfire, and I was defenseless against them all. Looked down upon with such scorn and hate. I knew as it stood I could never be an equal of even the lowest pony there. So I left and took my hatred of them with me, found a new purpose, a new life, a second chance with those who are also stared at because of their differences, out here they don't know what it's said I did. I found my redemption, if I could protect them and keep even the oldest ponies here alive and flying, I would have made up for something horrible that I could have avoided if I had not flown that day." You say as you feel a very warm hug come from both Princess Luna and Thunderbolt. "It was the first time we have ever lost subjects, Celestia, she, she didn't know how to react Anon. It was all feeling no reason what so ever." Luna said "But I survived. Anyways, that's what I came to believe and I think that's enough. If I could change the past I could. Though that's unlikely. Damn, burned through lunch, guess I'll just have to take an hour instead." You say trying to change the subject. "Lunch is going to have to wait Anon. It's study time!" Twilight said as she came back exactly at the end of your lunch. "Oh come on! I haven't even eaten yet!" You yell out as you're now dragged from your shop by the collar with Twilight's magic, another reason you disliked unicorns, they could do this shit to you and you were helpless, was easier for you to strike first ask questions later than be dragged around through the muck, but you weren't actually being dragged, more of levitated, about a foot off the ground to be precise. "Now let's find us a pony!" "Twilight." "Not now, searching for broken example." "Twilight, there's a" "Quiet, there's got to be a broken plane around here somewhere." "There's a schedule of incoming ponies at my shop." You say as that gets her attention and she now drops you. "Why didn't you say so? What's on the list?" Twilight asked as you're very concerned as to what you're sitting in "I don't know, but I seriously hope this is just fuel and not what I think this is." you say as you smell the liquid and it seriously smells of piss. "What is that? It smells of urine." "Then it's definitely not fuel" you say as you're now angry you're covered with someone's piss. "See you back at my shop, I need to go change." you say as again you're trapped by her magic and along for the ride. "If I don't change, I'm gonna smell like piss all day, you won't like that and I definitely won't" You say with almost a tone of you're going to suffer with me "Oh right, here let me fix that." Twilight says as the liquid in your clothes is now gone and you no longer smell of drunken piss "Thanks, now let me see who's on that list" You say as she sets you down in your shop and rips the clipboard from you
