Sully frantically cleaned up the puddles of JP-7, which the more he moved around, the warmer he got, allowing his skin to expand enough to stop the leaks and finally let him clean the fuel from the ground.
"Sully, you know you can't sit around. You leak fuel when you do. You got to keep moving. Why do you think you're so hungry in the mornings?" Mulder said as she attempted to reach out to the tip of her left wing, but couldn't due to her massive wingspan.
"Well, I don't have anything to do at the moment Mulder. Not like I'll get a flight request soon." Sully said as he was emptying out the vacuum to clean the spilled fuel, not like he was going to waste it.
"Go talk to Rex. There's a Rafael M and a SAAB 35 that just came in. He may have a need for us Sully." Mulder said prompting him to leave the hangar.
"Finally, some quiet time." Mulder said as she closed her eyes and fell asleep.
 
1445 hrs. Edge of Space
"Rex you have dealt with these gryphons before?" Alberto asked as you nod.
"Yea, their government representatives. They wanted to kidnap a pony princess. Stupid idea if they're doing it here. This doesn't sound like the first time you've had an issue with gryphons out in Rugido." You say as you take a drink of coffee.
"They came a few days ago, saying they had your authority to stay, but when they saw their leaders being chased from Avalon by some of the fighters, they left too. Now they have returned and have not left." Marcela said as you now know these gryphons were serious about that not being the last time you would deal with them.
"Well, it looks like they just became a problem. I'll be going back to Rugido with you, tell them myself to get off our land." You say with a smile on your face.
"Good. Perhaps if they heard it from another they would listen." Alberto said.
"Or start a war they can't possibly fight." You say
"What do you mean? A war they cannot possibly fight?" Alberto said.
"Well, if they're going to get mad at us for evicting them from our land to keep them from doing something stupid, like dragging us into war with Equestria." You say as Sully pokes his head in the door.
"Rex, ya got a minute?" Sully asked.
"What do ya need?" You ask a little irritated by the request.
"Well, oh there's where those two are. Did you need a recon run over Rugido?" Sully said.
"Sure, go and find a small camp of gryphons. About how many are there Marcela?" You say asking about how big the group is.
"Small, maybe five to ten gryphons. Whatever they were planning is a smash and grab." Marcela said giving you an idea of what they're doing.
"I say we do a smash and grab of our own, but we're just smashing, no grabbing." You say in reference to the group of gryphons on your land.
"On who?" Marcela asks.
"Those pesky gryphons who are on our land. Chasing them off when they're not supposed to be here is just homeland security." You say loop-holing around a direct act of aggression towards them.
"The group is large enough to be a small strike force, but what are they after?" Alberto asked as your answer walked into the bar.
"Her." You say pointing at Twilight who was among her friends, and hiding beneath Morgan.
"A pony? They are coming for a pony?" Alberto said in near disbelief of the gryphon's target
"Yea, that's who they're after. Princess Twilight Sparkle. Want her for science or something like that. Hell I didn't care why when I kicked their representatives out." you say as the two visitors nodded in agreement.
"Well, when did you want to go and chase them off our land?" you ask
"Soon, but how will you get there?" Marcela asked.
"Morgan will carry me." you say pointing to her, the light smile on her face, gives the two of them a sense of disbelief.
"Her? But she's not a fighter." Alberto said as you laugh a little.
"Oh? Who shot down that annoying T-50?" you ask.
"Rex Tremendae, you shot him down." Marcela said.
"Yes, with her help" You say looking at Morgan as she seems to be having a halfway decent time.
"I do not see her as one capable of such destruction. She seems more like a demonstrator like Berkut." Alberto said as you take a slight bit of offence to that.
"Just wait until we get there. She'll prove you wrong." You say smiling slightly.
"Alberto then let's head home. We should have enough fighters at home to scare them away." Marcela said prompting you to subliminally call Morgan over to you.
"Morgan sweetie, would you like to go on a trip with me?" you say as she came up to you.
"You and I are going on a trip dad? Where?" Morgan asked
"Rugido. We may have a small problem" you say
"What's the problem?" Morgan asked still with a slight bit of cheeriness in her voice.
"Gryphons on our land. They're going after a friend of your friend." You say knowing exactly how to upset Morgan a little.
"Oh, they're going after a friend of Luna are they?" Morgan said her voice becoming louder than normal.
"Yea, I need a ride to Rugido, those gryphons are about five miles from there. I get to talk to them first Morgan, then we run them off if they don't listen." You say
"Oh this will be fun. When are we going?" Morgan asks as you look to Marcela and Alberto.
"In twenty minutes. Enough time for us to refuel, the barkeep seems to be an artist with fuel." Alberto said as KC chuckled at being acknowledged for his very artistic use of fuel.
"Well thank y'all kindly. First time Ah've got recognition of it." KC said.
The two visiting jets were more than happy to partake in eating before they returned to Rugido.
 
1530 Hrs. Rugido.
It was an hour and a half flight of Morgan and these two flying in formation to Rugido. You hope all your effort would be worth it, as much as you'd use war as a tool to gain what you want, you really don't want to.
"Bienvinedos to Rugido." Alberto said as you climbed out of Morgan.
What you see is a sleepy airfield, and a stumbling Mig-25 walking the taxiways.
"Nice little place you got here Espada." you say not exactly sure how to address the two of them at once.
"Yes, and that is how we would like it to stay. Please follow us to a cafe where you can wait while we gather some of our compatriots to get those gryphons off the land." Alberto said as you rode on Morgan's back to a nice little cafe.
Most of the ponies there had not seen a human, and you were stared at, but wasn't anything new to you so you dealt with it and had a cup of coffee.
You sit with Morgan for about twenty minutes before Marcela and Alberto return, with three other fighters. A Typhoon, Tornado, and a little fireball of a I-153 Chaika.
"These are our friends will be assisting us. Skybreaker would be joining us, if she didn't turn her radar cooling system into a still. The typhoon's name is Alfred, the Tornado is Armin, and the little one, her name is Chaika. She can be a bit of a troublemaker." Alberto said as the little biplane had a smile on her face.
"Well, under the command of Rex Tremendae, she better behave herself, or I'll see that she has a word with some of the Bf-109s from Avalon's Shadow." You say joking lightly.
"I'll take them all down. Just give me a chance." Chaika says making both you and Morgan smile.
"Good, we'll need that attitude to scare off the gryphons." You say as you slide off of Morgan to greet the three newcomers.
"I'm Rex Tremendae, your political leader, and Avalon's Shadow's mechanic. Those gryphons are threatening our safety. They're planning something that could bring a war to us. Something I'm not going to allow." You say motivating the ponies into going along with your plan.
"Right m8, so when we going to go and lick them from our land?" Alfred asked.
"Very soon. Marcela said they're five miles from here, so when we get there, we shall ask them to leave politely, and when they don't we kick them from from our land." you say
"Das is good ja? Send the gryphons away. Get them away from Rugido" Armin said.
"Yes, send them away with bullets if we have to. If not, then we kill them with bullets. Either way we keep what's ours and they can go screw themselves." You say as Alberto leads you out to the camp of the gryphons.
 
1700 hrs. five miles from Rugido.
"I'll go and greet them first, Morgan, cover me." You say as you take the lead out to the gryphons.
There was a group of about 15 of them, on the upper estimate of the camp.
"Hello there, what ya all doing in Avalon?" You say catching them all off guard.
"Who ze hell are you?" one of them asked.
"Rex Tremendae. Why you all here?" you ask as they gather around you and Morgan steps out of the shadows to cover you.
"Vhat are ve doing here? Vhat are you doing here?" one of the gryphons again ask you.
"I'm out in my territory. Avalon Territory. I'm checking for a group of gryphons that are plotting against a princess of Equestria. My reconnaissance said there were about fifteen of them five miles from Rugido." You say as Morgan is now standing directly over you and her eyes went from blue to her attack mode red.
"You fifteen seem to fit that description exactly. So why don't you tell us why you're here, so we can escort you to your destination." Morgan said with the same bloodlust she had when downing T-50.
"Ve are here to talk to a princess of the ponies in Avalon's Shadow." the gryphon you were assuming was the commander said as he walked out to you.
"What princess? The ponies that were there left after the launch of two shuttle ponies. What business did you have with them." You say as you motion for the other four to stay where they were.
"Vell, ve vere going to ask her for a few favors." the gryphon said.
"What favors?" You as as you now motion for the rest of them to advance from the shadows.
"You are outnumbered."
"And you are outgunned. Chaika, warn them." You say prompting her to fire a three second warning burst of her 7.62 machine guns.
"I'm only going to ask you all to leave back to Oslo once. I know you're here to kidnap Princess Twilight. If I have to ask you again, we will open fire." You say hoping these gryphons get the hint.
"Ve vill not go! This is preposterous! You do not have ze authority to do this!" the lead gryphon said.
"Morgan? Could you hit the disagreeing gryphon?" You ask as she nods and fires three shots obliterating the gryphon who was leading them.
"So still want to stay here and disagree with us? We can do this all day." You say as Morgan's 30mm left nothing but goop of the lead gryphon.
"Ve vill be leaving now. Ve hope you have a good day. Very sorry for intruding." one of the gryphons said as he took to the sky and fled back to the west
"Well, anyone else?" You say as the rest of them take flight and leave in a hurry.
"Follow them. Make sure they go back to Oslo. If they divert give them encouragement to stay on course back." You say as you and Morgan begin to head back to Rugido.
"Very well, we shall make sure they go back to Oslo" Alfred said as they took off to follow the gryphons back to the border of Oslo.
"Well, that was interesting, what are we going to do about that mess?" Morgan asked as she pointed to the liquefied goop of the gryphon she shot.
"Leave it for the wolves. They could use a free meal every now and again. Let's go back to Rugido and go have dinner ok?" You say as you walk along side her.
 
2000 hrs. Rugido.
You and Morgan are having a nice little dinner in a cafe that served things for ponies, though you're not much of a vegetarian, it was better than going hungry for the night.
You again saw the drunken Mig 25, and you sighed knowing there was nothing you could do short of changing out the fluid in her radar's cooling system to stop her staggering.
Chaika was the first back, the little biplane was winded when she returned.
"Rex, they should have escorted the gryphons to the border when I got here. They should be another thirty minutes." Chaika said as she went and sat a table.
"Chaika, is there something wrong with you?" You ask concerned about why she's so out of breath.
"Oh, my engine just needs an overhaul, that's all." Chaika says as she turns to look at you.
"Well, when you get a chance, come out to Avalon's Shadow, I'll overhaul your engine for helping me out today." You say as the Mig 25 stumbles between you and Chaika.
"Skybreaker, you can't keep making vodka in your cooling system, it can't be good for you." Chaika said rather concerned about the Mig.
"Chaika, I alright. Honest I ok. Is not bad. We russian remember? Vodka no hurt us Chaika." Skybreaker said as you look at her in disbelief.
"Skybreaker, having a still as a cooling system for your radar is not good. You have what like 50 gallons of fluid in that system?" You say as Morgan rolls her eyes at you.
"Da but is not problem, I am ok. Vodka make me strong." Skybreaker said.
"More like permanently drunk. Chaika, is there any way to get her to stay still?" You ask hoping that the little one would have a solution for you.
"Nope, there's no easy way to get her to stay still. Unless you get 31 out here, she's not going to behave, and frankly nobody likes 31." Chaika said complicating things.
"Well bugger. Skybreaker go home, try to sleep it off, and no potatoes for you." You say hoping that she will stop making vodka in her radar.
"Who are you to say such thing?" She asked.
"Rex Tremendae, your Commissar. Go sleep off the vodka, and try to straighten yourself out. No pony is allowed to fly drunk." you say rather sternly to her hoping that she'd get the point.
"Da Commissar, but what of still?"
"Return your still back to it's normal cooling configuration. I don't care if you stash bottles of vodka there, you're just not allowed to make it." You say as she seemed to listen.
"Spasibo Commissar. Spasibo." Skybreaker said as she left and stumbled back to her home.
"That's the first time anyone other than 31 got her to do anything without resorting to shooting at her." Chaika said rather impressed with what you did.
"Yes, and I can hear the others approaching Rugido's airstrip." you say as you look over your shoulder to see the other four ponies coming in to land.
 
2100 hrs. Rugido.
"So which one of you is hosting Morgan and I for the night?" You ask as Morgan is trying her best to not fall asleep in the cafe.
"We did not expect you to be staying the night. If we had known, we would have prepared better Rex." Marcela said as they scrambled about trying to figure out what to do.
"I can host them." Chakia said offering her place for you and Morgan.
