Falken walked to your home and when he was out of hearing range, you had a mini panic attack before Osprey and Thunder. "Oh let it go Rex, nothing's going to come of it." "Nothing's going to come of it Thunder? Nothing?" You say questioning Thunder about her view on it. "Relax Rex, Thunder's right, there's no need to worry about your boy. He's smart enough to figure things out on his own." "Yea, but what if." "Now you're just going into ifs, nothing good is going to come out of those and you know it Rex." "Alright then Osprey, Thunder, what should I do then?" You ask wanting to hear their perspective on the situation. "Why don't you just let things play out. If they don't go the way Falken wants, just be there for him." "You're one to give advice Osprey. Remember how jealous of Ludmila you were?" "Oh why do you have to bring that up?" "Because who did you come to?" You say bringing a very valid point up to her. "Just listen to what Osprey had to say Rex, it's not like anything horrible will happen." "And when it does?" "You can say I told you so. That is if we're still around for you to say I told you so." Thunderbolt said as the three of you continue on your circle around the city just killing time.   A couple hours after Falken came home, Morgan arrives, says hi to you and goes straight to the house. Which is rather typical for her. Though when she finds Falken writing something on a piece of paper, she does have to inquire what it is. "Whatchya doin?" "That is none of your information." "Oh come on you can tell me what you're doing." "And if I choose not to?" "Oh you're no fun." Morgan said with a little bit of a frown as she approached Falken who was not aware of her plan. "Yes I do not believe I am supposed to be fun. HEY That's mine!" "Oh come on just let me read it Falken." Morgan said as she held the paper out side of Falken's reach. "Give it back Morgan that's not for you." "Who's it for and I'll give it back." "Not you now give it back." Falken said "Not until you tell me who its for." Morgan said holding emphasis on for. "Never." "Then I'll just read it." "NO!" "Don't want me to read it tell me who it's for and I won't read it." Morgan said with a smile on her face as she tormented her little brother, who barely managed to sputter out a name. "Who?" "Didn't you hear who I said?" "Well you said it kind of softly so that doesn't count." "Twi..." Falken said still rather embarrassed about who the letter was to. "Uh who?" "You heard me it's for Twilight." Falken said as he turned away from Morgan's gaze. Though she was confused she did have to actually look at the letter to confirm this. "Falken, why are you writing to Twilight?" "For reasons you can't understand." "I'm your sister I think I can understand if you explain." Morgan said as she gave it back to Falken who very quickly took it back and hid it in a missile bay. "You won't tell dad?" "Why would I tell him? It'll be a secret between you and me. Okay?" "Promise?" "I promise Falken I won't tell another soul." Morgan said as she eagerly awaited to hear what this letter was about and why it was to Twilight. "You better not Dad's already freaking out as it is." "I won't tell him. It'd probably be a good thing that we don't worry him any more than he is." "Thank you." Falken said as he relaxed a little. but not by much. "Well come on, out with it little bro." "Uh. Now? Aren't you worried about Dad coming home right now?" "No, he's out with Mom and Osprey. Which means they're going to be out for a good while." "Uh alright." Falken said as he tried to ready himself for the reveal of why he was writing Twilight. "I may be emotionally involved with Twilight." "Okay does she know this? Because I know you're not always the greatest in telling others how you feel Falken." "Of course, well I don't know really. That was kind of the point of the letter." "Falken you're supposed to do this type of thing in person." "Really?" "Well that typically goes much better than sending a letter." Morgan said as Falken just sighed out of confusion. "So I should have told her when I was there?" "Probably but as long as you write the letter by hoof she'd probably appreciate it." "And you know that how?" "Falken, I am a Mare, I do kind of know what she'd at least like." Morgan said as Falken only groaned, it wasn't the answer he was looking for nor the one he really wanted to hear. "So you're saying that she'll like the letter but that saying I like her would go over better if I was there? That's kind of confusing." "OH shut up and be happy that I'm not telling anypony." "I am grateful for that. But what should I do?" "Send the letter it's a little late to tell her now. Besides you've already started to write it." "Hey where are you going?" Falken asked as Morgan was heading out of the hangar. "I just want to go and hang out with Nora for a bit." "Do not tell her anything." "I already told you I wouldn't Falken. A promise is a promise." Morgan said as she left to go and bother Nora. 1500 Hrs. Raptor's hangar. Morgan went up and knocked on the doors, and to her surprise Mobius answered. "Oh hey Mobius, is Nora here?" "My sister's keeper? Yea. NORA!" Mobius said calling her out to the door. "What do you want Mobius?" "Door." "Who's there?" "Red wing." Mobius said as he walked away from the door. "Oh hey Morgan what's up?" "Seeing if you're home." "When aren't I home?" "Uh like all the time because Raptor's a hangar case." Morgan said. "I AM NOT." "Oh you so are Raptor I don't know why you try to hide it all the time." "If you didn't already scare the daylights out of me I'd... I'd." "You'd what Raptor? Try and fight me?" Morgan asked playfully though it was meant as a joke it did get Raptor to shudder. "Chicken." Mobius said as he walked past and into his room. "I am not. She's just really fast." Raptor said trying to rationalize why she's afraid of Morgan. "Oh just admit that you're afraid of my friend." "No Nora." "Morgan come on in, no sense in you standing out there all day. Provided Miss Raptor here doesn't wet herself." Nora said getting a little laugh out of Morgan. Raptor let Nora know her displeasure with comparing her to a scared puppy around Morgan, but that didn't stop anything from happening, only a whole bunch of giggling from Nora and Morgan. Though Mobius decided to poke his head out and join the conversation for a bit. "Don't get why you're so afraid of her." "I'm not afraid of her on the ground. It's just the one time she fought against another pony, it was....." "Pansy." Mobius said as he really didn't see why Morgan could be so scary, sure he's heard some of the rumors, but only of chewing T-50's wing off with her cannon. The prolific rumors of her ECM and other weapons failed to catch his attention. "Morgan do the thing." "What thing?" "You know, what sounds like a whole bunch of screeching to me." "Oh. Why?" "Just for because, and Raptor's being a little filly again." Nora said as Morgan shrugged and kicked her ECM on full blast, making Nora cover her ears and Mobius go cross eyed. "The hell is that?" "Morgan why'd you turn your ECM on?" Raptor asked as she was curled on on the floor. "Huh? Oh didn't you hear Nora ask me to." "That's what she means by do the thing?" "I guess so." "Please turn it off." "Well I don't want to hurt Nora's ears anymore." Morgan said as she turned off her ECM. "Explain what happened." "Huh? You've never run into ECM?" "Jamming yes, that stuff no." "Well I guess it's just a special type of countermeasure that only me and my dad have. It doesn't effect either of us, but it does seem to have pretty adverse effects on you though. It's just part of the shielding that keeps me safe." "Shielding?" "Yea, I'm kind of bullet proof, and missiles won't track very well when shot at me." "Huh. You're a strange one." Mobius said as he was both intrigued and confused at the same time about Morgan's ECM. "Well first time I've been called strange, there anything you want to do Nora?" "Not really you up to just hang out for a while?" "Sure. If that's alright with Mobius." Morgan said. "Fine, just no ECM. It messes up my eyes." "Alright. I'll make sure to keep it off. Thanks Mobius." "Yea." Mobius said as he went back into his room with a slight headache as Morgan and Nora began to poke fun at Raptor.   1800 Hrs. Your hangar, Falken's room. During his attempt to write a letter to Twilight, he's crumpled up fifteen or so sheets of paper that are now scattered throughout his room. "Why can't I get this right? Every thing I write down could be interpreted weirdly." Falken said as he crumpled yet another letter. "Maybe I should have asked Morgan for help." but asking her for help would mean that the letter isn't from just him. It would also be from Morgan, and Falken knew that Twilight would be able to pick up on the differences between their writing. So there he sits for an hour or two until you come home and check up on him. "Hey how's it going?" "I am alright if that is what you're asking." "Well that's good. What's with all the paper scattered around your room? You're not this messy." "I was writing a letter." "Ah, can't figure out what to say?" "Yes, I am having difficulties in trying to figure out what to say." "Well what's it for?" "It's personal." "Alright. Since it's a personal letter maybe you should just write how you feel, if that doesn't work just don't try to fool yourself." "Uh.. Thanks dad." "No worries buddy. That's kind of why I'm here." You say as you back out of his room. The fact that he said it was personal kind of gave you a clue who it was to and you didn't want to ask, or invade his privacy. "So what's Falken doing?" "Writing a letter." "To who?" "Said it's personal." "Oh." Thunderbolt said as she and Osprey were making something to eat in the kitchen. "So are you worried about it?" "It's a letter Osprey why should I?" "Good point. It's harmless enough right?" "Right." You say and hope. 1900 Hrs. "Abandoned Hangar" Stizh and Blue have really cleaned up the old hangar that Strizh has. Though the exterior is still dilapidated and shitty, the interior almost looks like a furniture store showroom due to how clean and organized everything is. Though both Strizh and Blue get along very well they still have arguments now and again, primarily over each other's cooking and tonight was no different. "Are you of tryings to kill me?" "Oh I didn't put any poison in the food. Like poison would do anything to us anyways." "So much salt." "I can't taste anything." "Because you from American based company! You used to salt and fats." "You're not callin me fat are ya mate?" "No saying food is disgusting and greasy." Strizh said with his usual complaint about her cooking. "Oh like yours is any better it's so bland. There's hardly any flavor in what you make." "Why you fry everything? Are you trying to clog fuel lines?" "Well maybe yours can't handle it but mine can." "Da sure they can." Strizh said as Blue let out a pretty bad wheeze. "Are you of alright?" "Yea I think so." "What happen?" "I dunno maybe a piece of something stopped up a fuel line for a second." "I tellings you all that grease not good for you." "Yea well let's see what Rex has to say about that." "It 1900, he at home, not good to bother him." "Uh actually I think I need to see him right now." "Blue?" Strizh asked as Blue shakily made her way to the door. "Something's not right Strizh." "Go to shop I get Rex." "Yea, I think you're going to have ta carry me." "Will be needings your help." Strizh said as he allowed Blue to climb up on his back and make his way to your home as fast as possible with Blue Angel on his back.   1930 Hrs. Your hangar. There's a pounding on your door as you go to answer it. "Yea?" "Blue need help." "What's wrong?" You ask. "Feels like something's stopped up in one of my fuel lines." "Shop now. Shutdown that engine." "Yes sir." Blue said as she didn't look very good. 1935 Hrs. Your shop. "Is she goings to be alright?" "She'll be fine when I'm done Strizh calm down. Never knew you liked her that much." "Shut up." Strizh said as you're accessing her engines. "Which engine is it Blue?" "Number one engine." "Can't make it easy for me?" "No. If this were my choice I wouldn't be in here." "Can't blame ya there." You say as you continue to work. "What do you think caused the line to clog?" "Well it has to be something you've eaten Blue, but I don't know what. You all can process grease like champs, and sugar doesn't effect you at all, not like you can get any pony ailments like diabetus." You say dropping an American diet joke. "Well that's really nice and all, but this isn't the time for you to be joking." "Do you want me to work or do you want me to berate you?" "Work please." "Then let me do what I need to." You say as you grab the tools to remove the fuel line. "She will be of alrights Da?" "Well when I get the chance to inspect this fuel line I'll let you know alright Strizh?" "Da." Stizh said as he looked away from you as you held the fuel line and hopped down. "What the hell? This isn't supposed to be in here?" You say as you go and touch the thick red grease that's slowly dripping from the fuel line. "What?" "It looks like you've got bearing grease in your fuel line. How the fuck did this get in your fuel?" "Not a clue, I always check what I'm eating." Blue said as you touch it and give it a smell. Smells like frying oil, but it's way too thick and discolored. "Well I've got two things to tell you Blue." "And they are?" Blue asked as she looks at the red grease dripping from her fuel line. "First, I've got to replace all your fuel lines, so thanks for that, and secondly you need to cut back on the fried and greasy foods or this is going to happen again." "What why?" "Uh so you don't have another heart attack. Odd it being that I still can't find your hearts and you just go and happen to have a heart attack." you say "I had a what now?" "Basically just a very bad case of indigestion, but if any of this grease hit your fuel jets inside your turbine they'd be clogged and you'd be grounded until I get them cleaned up." "So what are you going to do?" "I'm replacing your fuel lines stupid." You say as you go and get brand new fuel lines for Blue while Strizh seems to be fascinated with the grease that's dripping from her fuel line. "Is because her diet so bad?" "She went heavy on the greasy foods and I do mean heavy. Personally I don't suggest doing that again, because I'm sure it scared the hell out of you Strizh." "Da." Strizh said with a little bit of a laugh in his voice but more relieved than anything else. "Is there anything I can do to make sure this doesn't happen again without changing my intake?" "Nope. You can't have all the greasy stuff you were eating. You can still have it, but you've just got to watch how much." You say as you climb back up on her and replace the first fuel line that you've disconnected and get that engine back into running order, which takes all of twenty minutes to make sure it was done properly. That was only one of the engines and you spend another forty minutes changing the next fuel line just as a precaution only to find it just as disgusting as the first. "Yea, you need to watch what you eat Blue. This is disgusting. Now I know I've got to cut back on the greasy stuff too. Don't want bearing grease in my lines." "Oh how do you know it's bearing grease?" "It's red and it fucking looks like it. I'd taste it, but this robot doesn't have a tong and I'm not about to stick it in my unconscious mouth." You say pointing to yourself which is currently passed out in the corner due to you having full control of the robot at the moment. "Why don't ya?" "And how much do you want me to charge you Blue? It's after hours and if this wasn't seemingly an emergency call..." "I get it. Shut my mouth." "Good. Almost done." You say as you're reattaching panels It doesn't take you very long to reattach the panels you've pulled off of Blue, and when you're done you hop off of her back with a sigh. "You're done. Try not to eat as much greasy food this time would ya?" "I hear ya. Cut back on the grease." "Thank you. I'll figure out the cost tomorrow. I'll just charge ya parts." "Thanks Rex." "Yea, now go home." You say as you go back to your regular body and start to head home.   2127 Hrs. Your home. "So what was wrong with her?" "Fuel lines basically almost filled with bearing grease, which reminds me, cut back on the fried and greasy foods. Those were nasty." "Eww I didn't need to know that." "Neither did I." You say as you walk to the couch you were on before you were interrupted into being the doctor you love to be. "Speaking of your job any idea of how Sasha's doing?" "Guess she's due for another check huh? Considering that child of hers is due in a couple of months." "Only if you think she needs it." "Well I don't know she'd have to ask me for it. I'm not prying into her life." You say as you lie out on the couch and relax for a few minutes. "So about Falken." "Did he tell you who the letter was for?" "No, but he suspects we know who it's to." "And he's right as usual." "Do we pry to much into his life?" "No, I give him the same freedom as Morgan, but I do worry about him more because he is younger." You say as you try not to think about the situation between Twilight and Falken. "Don't you think that it's a little too much freedom to do what he wants?" "Would it be fair to limit him? He acts just as mature as Morgan does, so I don't see why I should." "Well you are right, it's just a little worrisome to me that they're always off with their friends and not us." Thunder said as you just smile. "They're kids what do you expect? For them to just sit around all day like you and I do when we're not either working or with our friends?" "Well you do have a point." "Usually do." You say as you get up and move over to Thunder. 0800 Hrs. Your home. You wake up after falling asleep next to Thunderbolt and find Morgan making breakfast for once, which is new to you. "Hey, you making breakfast?" "Well since you and Mom cook all the time I thought it was my turn to do something since you two were asleep." "That's pretty thoughtful of you Morgan." You say though you think that she wants something. Though it's actually Falken who wants something from you and not Morgan. "Hey dad can I fly out to Ponyville?" "Uh sure. You find another one of Twilight's books in your missile bays again?" "Yea something like that",he said as he stood there with a blank look on his holographic face as he tried to think of something else to stay. "Just stay for breakfast before you go." "But I already ate." "Has he Morgan?" You ask knowing that you'll get the answer from her. "I don't think so." "You're staying until after you eat Falken." You say making Falken grumble and Morgan giggle. "What would you do if you ran low on fuel and couldn't make it back?" "I'd stay at Purple's." "Which doesn't surprise me. Is that also where you're going?" "Yes." "You're going to drop that off and then come back home." "But." "Falken. Just today." You say as he tried to argue with you but you made sure that it was pointless to. "Fine." "Huh? What's with all the arguing." "Oh, dad was saying what I was allowed to do today." Falken said as Thunder was waking up Thunder looks at you with a bit of approval. "Really? And what did he say?" "Said I can go and drop off something at Purple's but I can't stay. And I have to stay for breakfast." Falken said as he was a little bit upset with having to come back home after delivering his letter. "Well it's probably only for today, you shouldn't worry about it. It's just you two have been out soo much it'd kind of be nice to have you home for a day." "You two could have said something and I would have made the time for..." "We both know that you wouldn't have." Thunder said as she knows Falken just as well as you do, and that scares him sometimes. "Right, well I ate, can I go?" "No, you hardly touched your breakfast. Finish it. You're not getting stuck out there." "You're being rather bothersome dad." "Second job. First is to be there for you and Morgan, second one is to annoy the hell out of you." You say as Morgan looks over slightly surprised that you'd say that about both of them.   About twenty minutes later Falken finishes eating and then he leaves for Ponyville, but before he leaves you have a little talk with him. "If she decides to read it when you give it to her, you can stay and wait for the response. Let me know when you arrive, and I'll tell you when you have to be back by. If I do not hear from you, 1200 is the latest you can be back." "But it's two hours to Ponyville!" "It's 0830 now, you better get moving." You say getting him to scamper into the sky so he can go and deliver his letter to Twilight. "What's got him in such a rush?" "Oh Morgan, he's off to drop something off at Twilight's." "Hmm, why such a hurry?" "I gave him a pretty restricted timeline to do it in. If he doesn't send a message to me when he lands, he has until 1200 Hrs. Don't bother asking if you can go anywhere missy." "I wasn't. I just hope his endeavor goes well." "Me too Morgan, me too." You say as you hug Morgan. "So you know what he's taking to Twilight?" "Yea, a letter." "Really? He wrote it?" "Yea, it's probably a letter confessing how he feels about her." "Oh soooo does mom know?" Morgan asked as she tried to see how much you and Thunder know. "Why do you want to know?" "Oh no particular reason." "You knew about this letter before me didn't you?" "No." Morgan said as you just look at her letting her know that you already knew and you did pry that a little. "Oh alright yes I knew about it. I even read part of the letter." "Probably a draft. When I walked in on him writing he had about fifteen or twenty crumpled up pages lying around his room." "Oh, so he couldn't figure it out?" "Yea. So things between you and Luna?" You ask since the two of you were on the topic of friends. "It's not like Falken and Twilight if that's what you're asking. She's like a funny sister to me." "Sounds rather nice." "So you haven't looked at my friendship with Luna?" "Why should I? She's your friend, and mine too. There's not a point to intrude on your friendships. Though I worry about Nora sometimes." You say just because Nora's deceptively good at getting things to swing her way. "Why?" "Does Raptor ever do anything against Nora's wishes?" "All the time, she gets yelled at for it too." Morgan said making you laugh because that went against what you knew, and that was actually rather nice to be wrong about her.
