>Amazing. >Absolutely amazing. >You've waited a long time to see this. >You admire the beauty of this place, the white stone, the golden trim. >Everything is at ease here, a contrast to the problems back home. >You are thankful that you were finally able to travel away from that place. >So peaceful, closing your eyes you enjoy a light breeze as you walk through a garden. >Oh, the gardens! Full of a vast array of flowers and plants, always in bloom. >This is all far more grand than what you imagined it would be like. >You continue to walk towards the inner parts of the castle. >When you arrived here, you overheard a group talking about a special event today. >Some kind of ceremony, it was going to be held at the castle soon. >You're very fortunate to have arrived on this day. >For this was your first time in Canterlot.   "Great, just great..." >Moving forward, you continue walking through the castle. >With a small problem. >You're lost. "Gotta find it, come on, where is this throne room?" >The event is going to start any minute now, and you know you're late. >Frustration is quickly building as you turn another corner only to find a dead end. >You stop with a sigh, this castle is starting to feel like a maze. >Turning around, you begin walking back the way you came. >Arriving back at some sort of central room, you wonder which way to try next. >You hear a door open behind you, turning around you see two Royal Guards. >They begin moving towards you. "Excuse me, could you please tell me which direction the throne room is?" >The guards move right past you without response, not even looking at you. "Hey! Can't you tell me where it is?" >Soon they turn and begin walking down a different hallway. "Come on... Oh well." >Running to catch up with them, you proceed to follow the two guards.   >Following the guards, you hear the chatter of a crowd in the distance. >The hallway opens up to a much larger and ornate one, you stop and observe the surroundings. >To the left is a long path leading to a set of massive golden doors. >To the right is a short hallway with various doors, a spiral staircase at the end. >You follow the guards again as they make their way to the left. >As you approach, you hear the noise of the crowd getting louder. >Stopping before the doors, you stand and wait. >After a few seconds they glow, slowly opening, you are soon greeted with quite a sight. >Before you is the throne room, standing in front of you is Shining Armor. >The two guards whisper something to him, you can't make out what they say. >Shining Armor nods, proceeding to walk out of the throne room past you. >Further down in front of you are the Princesses, standing in front of the throne. >You look at Celestia, a warm smile is on her face. >Turning your attention to Luna, she looks slightly nervous, her eyes scanning the crowd. >Guess Luna does not enjoy crowds. >You notice an occasional glance at you coming from her. >And then you realize you've been standing in the middle of the room like an idiot. >Smooth, you quickly make your way to back of the crowd by the wall, waiting for the event.   >Now at the back of the crowd, you look about the throne room again. >Looking up, you gaze at the high vaulted ceiling, various banners hung from it. >Your eyes move to the massive stained glass windows, each one a different scene and color. >Fanfare brings you back to attention as you turn and look at the throne room doors. >Shining Armor slowly walks down the throne room, nine unicorns follow behind in formation. >Stopping in front of the Princesses, Shining Armor moves to the side as the nine bow. >Upon rising, Celestia and Luna alternate asking each of the nine unicorns questions. >What it means to be a Royal Guard, the duty and responsibilities. >Each unicorn gives their answers one by one. >You watch as this continues for some time, eventually the last one gives his answers. >With a smile, Celestia casts a spell, turning the nine unicorns colors gray and white. >Luna then announces them as Royal Guards of Canterlot. >Cheers and applause break out in the throne room, you join in and begin clapping. >Shining Armor moves back to the middle of the room, the new guards forming behind him. >They begin walking back out of the throne room, applause still coming from the crowd. >Soon after exiting the throne room, the crowd begins to leave. >You quickly realize you're going to be here for awhile. >Stuck between a wall and a horde. >Great.   >As the crowd begins to diminish, you look and notice Luna is now staring at you. >You begin to wonder if you did something wrong, her face is expressionless. >Celestia notices this and looks at you for a moment. >"Luna? Is something wrong?" >Luna turns her head, looking at Celestia again. >"We are... I am just thinking about something sister, that is all." >"Are you sure you don't want to talk about it?" >"Yes, now if you will excuse me, i am going to do some research." >"Very well Luna, have fun." >Luna's horn begins to glow, and in a flash she teleports away. >Well, that was exciting. >With the crowd gone at last, you make your way out of the throne room. >On the way back, you hear a noise coming behind you. >Turning around, you spot a wooden door slowly creaking open. >Curious, you move towards the door to investigate. >Looking inside, it appears to be a storage room of some sort. >Inside of the room are bookcases, tables, storage chests... >And a particular book on a table that catches your eye. >You walk into the room, curious of this book.   >As you approach the table and the book, you begin to notice some details. >A worn black cover, with intricate silver details on the front. >It looks very old. >You look, but you do not see any sort of title on it. >Suddenly the door behind you slams shut. >You quickly realize there was no other source of light in the room. >Turning around, you try and feel your way through the darkness to the door. >Without warning, something grabs you from behind, throwing you to the ground. >You become unconscious as your head impacts the cold stone floor. >... >You open your eyes, but see only darkness. >You try and sit upright, only to feel something holding you down. >A glow illuminates the room, your eyes start to adjust to the light. >Only to see Luna standing over you, the same expressionless stare from before. >She focuses on your eyes, and slowly brings her face closer to yours. >Paralyzed, you desperately try to move, nothing works. >You can only watch in fear as Luna's eyes suddenly turn black. >As you stare into her eyes, your vision quickly fades away. >Soon, nothing.   >Waking up, you sit upright in bed, quickly reaching for your dream log. >A dull ache comes from your head, must of slept in an odd position. >With the memory still fresh in your mind, you write down the events of a dream. >Closing the log, you lay back down, troubled, eventually drifting off to sleep again.
