I submitted an order to Cheren for beer brewing ingredients. I need the following approved to be canon and order-able by the meta council:
 
-Hops (If Equestrians don't have it for brewing alcohol, they might have it for brewing "non-alcoholic" beer or used for disinfectant like in herbal medicine.
 
-Malt Extract (most certainly canon, used in sweets and such, I think)
 
So the main issue is hops.
