>A long silence, followed by some soft laughter seems to go on forever “We should probably go back now...” >“Okay.” >Rosetta hops off her chair and- >Ungracefully faceplants into the floor “Rosey Whoa! Are you okay?” >She rolls over onto her back and stares at you, puzzled, and lets out a long sigh >“My legs.” “What's wrong with them?” >“...I can't feel them.” >You notice a couple scorched black marks on her body and some smoke coming off of her “Oh dear. H-how did that happen?” >You hoist her over your back and walk slowly out of the coffee shop, trying not to be noticed by everyone around you >“It's too much.” “I agree... I'm sorry, I should have stopped you.” >“I see so much” “What do you see?” >“Every detail.” >You slow your pace as you carry her down the street >Rosetta begins to breathe heavily >“But I can't love.” >The words hurt, they really hurt “Don't be so pessimistic, you can, I know you can.” >You start to tear up >You know exactly what she's trying to say >“Don't fix something...” “Don't- fix?” >“That isn't broken.” >And with that you hear what sounds like a sniffle >Is she crying? >Oh crap she is crying >darker colours of smoke start to pour out from her everywhere “Stop! Rosey stop please! It'll be alright!” >You wince in pain as the searing heat from her body scorches you >You instinctively slide her off of your back >“I'm a mess...” >As the words leave her mouth she bursts into flames and lays down on the pavement “Noooononono! Oh bloody hell!” >“See?...” “Rosey please shut down.” >You are trying to be as calm as possible >“Can't.” >The fire on her was now spreading to her wings >You jump ontop of her and use the latest repair software with your last update >You've never used it before but no time for testing >You pry and pull at her capacitor until you break her exoskeleton and rip it out >Rosetta lays there lifeless, smoke still coming off of her >The capacitor is still in perfect condition >You try to compose yourself but everything that's happening is just too much >You curl up next to her and cry >You don't know how you are going to tell Anon what happened >After a good few minutes of sobbing, you pick Rosetta back up and walk the rest of way to facility >The repair ponies were quick to scoop her up and get to work >Anon still wasn't back from his trip >You watch as the repair team clean her off and wire her up >You drop the capacitor in the repair room for them >The head of the repair team trots up to you, and sort of cringes “What's wrong?” >He opens a file and projects it out for you >“Rosetta is really strangely built Jackie... I don't know what Anon was thinking but as you can see here she has no central processing unit. Or a brain for that matter.” >You're not sure how this day could get any more stressful >“Every part of her, every nerve, every muscle, every joint, runs off of a small RISC microprocessor.” “Oh boy...” >“And judging by what I've seen, a good few hundred thousand dollars worth of those were destroyed.” “Oh...” >“She's going to be alright Jackie, this may take some time and money though.” “Alright, thank you.” >You were holding back on crying again, desperately holding back >You start to trot up to your room >“Jackie! One more thing. I'm not to question Anon's intentions but if he doesn't want to lose money on this... Project. I'd suggest we keep interaction with Rosetta to an absolute minimum. She's not built to interact with our kind or human kind.” >You turn around and continue walking to your room >Keep interaction to a minimum... >The words echo in your head over and over > You collapse on the floor outside your door and burst into tears
