>be Anon >6 AM and alarm clock is screaming at me to get out off my lazy ass and wake up >maybe staying up till 4 wasn't such a good idea after all >grumpily hop out of bed and get into whatever lazy combo of jeans and a t-shirt I can find >couldn't uncover anything to eat in the cabinets, so I grab my 35-lb backpack and trudge out to Canterlot High >walk past Fluttershy's place just as she's starting to leave >she sees me and sprints up to me holding a piece of paper flapping everywhere   "Hey Anon! What did you get on #26?"   "Flutts, there isn't a #26 on the assignment."   "Oh. Well, let's walk."   >been good friends with Fluttershy since 8th grade   "So, Anon, how did that performance last night go? I couldn't be there because of, well, you know, Twilight."   >I will never understand why those two get along so well   "I messed up at least 2 times. You didn't miss anything."   "Oh, ok then. I promised Twilight I'd meet her in the band room before the bell rung. Bye!"   >she dashes off adorably >Twilight+Fluttershy=Band room? >does not equate >whatever >time to rush off to Algebra >there's no way I'm getting through that huge ass rush in the main door >good thing my locker is right outside the gym >Solid Snake time >all of a sudden, my phone vibrates >I pull out my phone to see who it is >Fucking Twilight   "Anon! Fluttershy and I need some help in the band room. There was an accident with a cello."   >dammit, Twilight >I rush around the school and through the gym and go to the band room to find Twilight, Fluttershy, a broken cello, and a very ticked Ms. Melody "What exactly were you doing in here to break a cello THIS badly?"   "You know, um, just... Looking for a good cello for Anon."   >Twilight looks in your direction >only for you, Twi "Oh, yeah. I was looking to join the band as a cello player. They were just looking at what the school has for me because I was a bit occupied."   >Ms. Melody sighs and motions us to pick up the absolutely shattered cello >what the hell did they do to this? >after that catastrophe, Twi and Flutts rush off to class, leaving me here, having to join the band for their shenanigans >just great   "So, you want to play cello?"   >I nod   "That's an interesting choice. We only one cellist here, and we could certainly use some more people up to the task. Do you have any experience?"   "Absolutely none."   "Then you're going to need to learn quickly. We have a performance coming up soon and we are going to need everybody at their best potential."   >I continue talking with her about more music stuff until she feels I've heard enough   "Come with me. You'd should probably meet the other cellist, considering you will be performing music with her soon."   >she leads me out into the main practice room where all of the band students are talking quietly to the other's around them >I have no plans on staying in this any longer than I have to >dammit, Twilight   "Octavia, I'd like you to meet Anon, the new cellist."   >Octavia looks up from her music and gives Ms. Melody a shocked face   "Somebody else actually signed up to be a cellist? I thought I'd be the only one all year."   >she looks over to me   "Well? What are you doing? Grab a chair and take a seat."   >you do so, sitting down across from Octavia   "Octavia, I presume you should be able to briefly teach Anon the basics to the cello."   >her look of glee turns a little bit less happy   "He doesn't know how to play?"   "Not at all."   >Ms. Melody slowly backs up out of the room, leaving all of the band students unattended besides the sleeping janitor in the corner   "This is going to be very interesting, to say the least." "So you know absolutely nothing about the cello?"   "I know there are strings, and it sounds wonderful when in the right hands."   >she looks at me with a look of pure fascination with my lack of knowledge   "Alright, let me teach you the basics."   ...   >3 months have passed since the Twilight-Fluttershy band room incident >3 months of learning how to play a cello, being taught by Octavia >turns out I'm a natural   "So, you sure you got that song down, Anon?"   "Octy, we've been over this at least 20 times. I've got it down."   >I swear, it's like she's my second mom sometimes   "Good. We need to be ready for the Fall Formal performance coming up in a week. It wouldn't be a good idea to make a fool of ourselves in front of the whole school."   "I know. Are you going to be at the coffee shop today, or do you have something going on?" >she laughs and smirks at me   "Of course I'm going to be there. We've gone there with Twilight and Fluttershy for the last 5 weeks. Nothing has changed significantly."   "Cool. See you at 4 then."   >as if I controlled the bell, it rang right then   "See you later, Anon."   >I grab my pack and head out to my locker, thinking about what Octavia said about nothing changing >if only she knew
