>The entire street rattles from the electric shock. >The contemporary lifestyle of the suburban neighborhood is briefly interrupted by the uprising wake of science. >Many turn to the direction of the blast to catch a glimpse of the action. >But night has crept up early, for the middle of Winter is imminent. >A loud explosion certainly would draw a lot of attention from nearby residents. >The holidays have ended, and the hiatus that lasts until Spring has begun. >So, the bored civilians momentarily creep up to the building from which the explosion sounded. >Leaving the warmth of their houses, out into the cold air to investigate. >The howling winds cut through the silence of the explosion's aftermath. >Accompanying the winds is the subtle beating of curious hearts. >The people approach the building, a house, resting atop a softly sculpted hill. >It's a surprise to everyone that someone is evidently residing there. >The residence has been abandoned for a couple of years, now. >All of the windows had been boarded up and the doors sealed. >The concerned crowd approaches the house, surrounding it. >They wait in suspicious reserve, beginning to speak to one another. >Hoping to hear clues or clarification regarding the disturbance in their community. >Concern rises as the minutes go on without something else happening. >There is no apparent way for the neighbors to enter the house. >They can only scan the perimeter of the foundation. >People eventually begin retreating back into their warm homes one by one. >After an hour later, the last of the nosy bystanders have left the scene. >The abandoned house is alone once again. >A girl in a lab coat and glasses immediately emerges from somewhere under the house. >She silently curses, as her experiment to create a portal to the magical land of Equestria has failed. >The girl then leaves the yard and ventures into the woods behind it, determined to try again next time. >Equestria awaits. ~
