Derpy walked out of the shower, drying off her mane, holding the towel with her wings. She looked at herself in the fogged up mirror, and started to wonder. She wished she had a beautiful dress or some perfumes to wear. She wanted to make a good impression with the Doctor. There was a knock at the door. ‘Derpy, Dinner is ready.’ Said the Doctor. Five minutes later, Derpy entered the kitchen. The Doctor look at her and his mouth fell open. She was the same Derpy, but she looked marvellous. Her damp mane draped over her shoulders and she had a blue rose sitting behind her ear. The Doctor was in seriously out of thought that he didn’t realise Derpy was talking to him. ‘Huh…Pardon?’ he said with a blush ‘I asked what we are having for dinner?’ she said ‘Oh, it’s a Vegetable Risotto.’ ‘What’s a rizzollo?’ ‘Risotto. It’s something I came upon on a planet of hairless monkeys. They spoke a language similar to our own, but used their hands to add emphasis.’ Derpy lifted a fork and took a bite. It was delicious, so delicious she wanted to put her face in it. she turned to the Doctor. ‘Doctor, what is your home like?’   The Doctor almost chocked on his food. He looked at Derpy, and she was beginning to look upset. ‘I’s sorry Doctor.’ ‘No, don’t be.’ He said with a smile. ‘My world was called Gallopfrey. It was a beautiful place to live; the trees had leaves of silver, and when the sun set, they looked like they were alight. The skies were bright orange, and went purple as the suns set. But the night was the best. We had a beautiful moon called Panzithi Gallopfreya, and at night it shone brightly like your eyes.’ Derpy blushed a deep red and giggled ‘Will you show me Gallopfrey?’ A tear rolled down the Doctor’s snout. ‘Derpy, the Time P0nies were a just race. They tried to keep peace in the universe, but there were those who wanted to rule all. There was a great war, and my race died out with it. I cannot return to my planet because there is a lock on it, a lock to prevent anything from changing the war.’ ‘I’m sorry Doctor, I didn’t know…’ ‘Miss Hooves, I do not blame you. I know you didn’t know. I…I have to go for a walk.’ The Doctor stood from the table and walked out the door.   The Doctor stood at the window, staring out into the vastness of space, thinking of all the ones he lost in his lifetimes. He stared at those for what felt like hours, but they were mere minutes, and seconds compared to his vastness of life. ‘It’s not very nice to sneak up on p0nies, Derpy.’ He said. ‘I’m…I’m sorry Doctor.’ Derpy said, walking forwards ‘I didn’t mean to make you upset. I can understand if you want to take me home.’ She wiped a tear from her face. ‘Derpy,’ the Doctor turned to face her, and his hearts broke ‘I haven’t saved your life NEARLY enough to let you go home.’ Derpy laughed ‘Don’t worry, my problems are in the past. I think it’s time for bed.’ ‘Umm… Doctor, would you sleep next to me tonight?’ The Doctor was stunned ‘I…I usually have nightmares, and when I was next to you, I didn’t.’ ‘Of course Derpy.’ They both walked out, trying to hide the smiles on their faces.   As he drifted into sleep, the Doctor had the same dream he had every night. He was in the streets of Gallopfrey, running to save his people but he couldn’t do it. Every step he took, it became harder and harder to run. He tried to run faster but his hooves felt heavier. His family, his friends, all killed in front of him and he couldn’t stop it. He awoke with a startle, heavy breathing to calm him down. He looked next to him and saw Derpy laying there, whimpering in her sleep. ‘She’s having a nightmare, and I can’t stop it.’ he thinks. He does the only thing he thinks to do. He leans in and softly kisses her and lies next to her, making sure his muzzle touched hers. Before closing his eyes again, he saw her face slowly smile.   The Doctor stood between two colts who looked exactly like him. The only differences where their cutie marks. The one on the left had a heart and the number 1, the other heart 2. ‘Okay guys, what do you think?’ the Doctor says ‘Sir, I believe we are making a mistake.’ Said Heart 1. ‘Where as I think it is a good idea.’ Replied heart 2. ‘What is the problem with having this happen?’ Doctor asked ‘sir, your life span is too great to keep going on like this. There is a great chance that you will outlive her.’ H1 says looking at H2. ‘But it has been too long for you. 900 years alone, sitting in a little blue box. It can’t be good for you.’ H2 put an arm around the Doctor. ‘She will die before you, and you will feel the pain of loss.’ ‘Better to feel the pain of loss after years of love, than the pain of regret after nothing at all.’ The Doctor sighed a deep sigh. ‘I don’t know what to do, and it seems you two have different opinions as always. I must leave.’   The Doctor’s eyes shot open as he lay awake in bed. He looked next to him and saw Derpy had wrapped her wings around him in a hug. He looked towards her face to see 2 golden eyes staring back at him. ‘Good morning Derpy.’ He said in a soft voice. She immediate removed her wings. ‘Good morning Doctor.’ She said, very embarrassed. ‘You seemed to be more comfortable with me, holding on to me and such.’ She didn’t blush, but smiled at him. ‘I hope you didn’t mind.’ ‘Of course not. I like waking up in the morning with a hug.’ There was a loud siren sound. The Doctor shot out of bed and ran for the cockpit. Derpy ran after him, hoping to be of some assistance.   She found her way in to the control room and the Doctor was rushing around, pushing buttons and typing things. ‘Come on! What is wrong with you?’ he yelled ‘Be good will you, stop messing aro—‘ The TARDIS shifted sideways and rocked around. Derpy held on tightly as the TARDIS shot through an interdimensional vortex. After everything finally settled down, Derpy got to her feet. ‘Doctor, where are we?’ she asked, rubbing her head. ‘It seems…’ he looked at the TARDIS screen ‘She has taken us to an alternate dimension. A P0nyville where a war broke out.’ He opened the door to see a dust bowl wasteland. ‘No signs of life…’   They walked through the streets of the broken town. It looked like the remains of P0nyville, but everything was destroyed. ‘Doctor…’ Derpy said ‘How…how could this happen?’ ‘From what I gathered, a race from another plane of existence landed here.’ The Doctor looked around ‘They started a war, and against the p0nies, it was a massacre.’ ‘Oh Celestia… Why weren’t you here to…to stop it.’ ‘Derpy….this is a universe where I tried to stop the war on my planet. At this point in time, there is no known Time P0nies.’ The Doctor whipped out his screwdriver and scan the area. He gave it a flick and looked at it. ‘Hmm… it seems that there is no sign of ….hold on?’ the Doctor’s eyes widened and he began running. ‘Doctor?’ Derpy started to run after him. They ran through the streets of P0nyville, until they found themselves outside of what remained of Sugarcube Corner.   The Doctor kicked down the door, and both rushed inside. ‘Where is it? Where is that signal?’ the Doctor said, pulling out his screwdriver again. It whirred to life again and he followed the sound. ‘Doctor, what’s going on?’ Derpy asked. ‘Derpy, questions later. We may have a small amount of time.’ He ran out the back to the kitchen, the whirring getting louder. At its peak, they were outside the fridge door. He pointed the screwdriver at the lock on the door and it clicked open. He opened the door with all his might and the sight before him made him gasp. In the middle of the floor, laying down on it’s side, still alive but barely breathing, was a unicorn filly. It’s purple coat was covered in dust and mud; the mane was clumped and matted. The Doctor picked the filly and placed it on Derpy’s back. ‘Whatever you do, do not leave her.’ The Doctor said, looking into her eyes. She didn’t need to say a word, her eyes said it all. Pointing straight into the Doctor’s. They were making their way to the door when they heard it. A loud explosion 100 ft away.   They ran outside to see 30 soldiers. They stood on their hind legs, and were covered in black armour. On their heads looked like helmets, and at the lengths on their front limbs sat weird hooves with 5 spindly things. They looked like upright hairless monkeys ready for war. In their paws sat black things, two handles connected to a long barrel. They all walked in formation towards the centre of town, and towards the Doctor, Derpy and the filly. ‘Doctor?’ Derpy said ‘Derpy, whatever happens here, you get the filly back to the ship.’ The Doctor said with a stern voice. ‘SIR WE HAVE SOME MORE SURVIVORS!!!’ called one creature, aiming the black thing at them. All at once, they raised their black things. Through the crowd came another hairless ape, wearing green clothing and wore sunglasses. He strode forwards with a smug sense of purpose, and looked at them. ‘Boys,’ he spoke with a southern drawl, like a farmer p0ny from back home ‘Ah believe we has ourselves some new disectables.’   The Doctor took a step forward. He eyed up these strange creatures, making sure not to spook them. He didn’t need to have Derpy or the filly in trouble. ‘Look fellas, this ‘ere one is givin’ in so easy. Gunna be a good one.’ Said the smug one. ‘Under Convention 15 of the Shadow Proclamation, I demand you stand down and I speak with your most superior commander.’ The Doctor stated in a civil manor. ‘Ah don’t think so. We wiped y’all creatures out and now we gunna wipe you out too. This here world is under the control of the Amuurrricans.’ ‘Then under Article 57 of the Shadow Proclamation—‘ ‘What in the fark is this “shadow proclamations” y’all speaking about? We don’t have ta follow ya laws, we are taking over yur lands. And now it’s yur time tah die.’ With a flick of his wrist, he motion all those behind him to raise his weapons again. The Doctor knew it, he was bucked. If he tried to reach for the screwdriver, Derpy, the filly and himself would most likely be killed. ‘I’m sorry Miss Derpy. I have failed you.’ The Doctor said, a tear rolling down his cheek.   They closed their eyes and waited for the inevitable. They heard the weapons click, and then a familiar whirring sound. They both opened their eyes to see all the weapons the creatures were holding had fallen to pieces on the ground. But the biggest surprise of all was that standing behind the large group of creatures. There stood another bi-pedal creature, wearing a large overcoat, with messy short brown hair, and a stern look on his face, holding a little silver rod with a blue light on the end. ‘Now, now general. We can’t have you pointing those guns at these…creatures.’ Said the creature putting his screwdriver away. ‘Wouldn’t seem too diplomatic?’ ‘Na who in the hell are ya?’ this General person said in anger. The creature pulled out a black wallet and flashed it at the group. Immediately they dropped to their knees and started to whimper. Derpy looked at it with confusion, but the Doctor stood in shock. ‘Oh dear lord no.’ he said.   ‘Ah’m gunna call in mah sur-periors tah see if ya have clearance ta be ‘ere’ said the General. ‘That’s fine. I’m just going to have a word with the p0nies, let them know we are taking them to safety.’ Said the creature in the overcoat. He strode over to the Doctor and Derpy with a quick step. He stood over them and placed a pair of thick rimmed glasses on his face. ‘Ooooh, look at you guys. You are –brilliant, aren’t you? What are you, equines?’ he asked. The Doctor looked at Derpy and said ‘Neigh Neigh, Whiny Neigh.’ Derpy laughed at this. ‘Wow, I was sure I knew every language in the universe and my ship would cover the rest.’ ‘Well maybe if you were such a pretentious prick,’ The Doctor smiled at him ‘I wouldn’t be able to mess with your head so bad.’ ‘Ah ha, so you can speak.’ The overcoat wearer smiled. ‘And psychic paper, seriously?’ ‘So you are intellectual?’ ‘And neither one of us is of this universe, Mr…?’ ‘Oh, I’m the Doctor.’   Derpy almost fell over. In front of her stood a colt she knew as the Doctor and a weird shaved ape who called himself “the Doctor”. Doctor Whooves chuckled. ‘I knew it. I just knew it had to be you…me…us? Sorry, I haven’t been in this situation in a while.’ ‘Pardon?’ said Doctor Who. Doctor Whooves motioned him in close, and whispered something in his ear. the other Doctor’s eyes widened. ‘You mean… I’m a horse?’ he said ‘I prefer colt, unless you prefer monkey.’ ‘So how did you get here?’ ‘Sexy brought us here. All alarm bells and such. You?’ ‘Same…So is she your companion?’ the other Doctor pointed to Derpy. ‘Yes, and we really need to get running. The little one on the back is almost gone, and those…things? They aren’t going to be—‘ ‘HEY!! MISTAH SMITH! Who did ya say you were with?’ called the general. ‘Okay, Equine me. I assume you got a screwdriver?’ the other Doctor asked. The Doctor pulled his out of a pocket that was never really there and passed it to his alternate self. ‘Alright, Derpy!’ Derpy looked ‘Block your ears as well as the filly’s. This is going to be loud.’ The Doctor covered his ears as his alternate self pulled off the plan.   One of the worst things to do if you have any sonic devices is to use them on each other. The sonic feedback on each one can shatter diamonds and deafen people. It was this plan that the alternate Doctor enacted. Instead of a simple “whirring” sound, the streets were filled with a high pitched screeching. Every soldier dropped to their knees again and covered their ears. The Alternate Doctor threw the screwdriver to his equine self. ‘Run now. You may only have a few minutes.’ ‘Mye’Seo Nemiar Shantet’Naquet’ Said the Doctor, grabbing Derpy and the filly. ‘Ni’si Sop’Aet Kui'La Vrayda’Eupaet Vara’Vorat’ Replied the alternate. The Doctor and Derpy ran as fast as they could, the TARDIS insight. They could hear yelling in the distance, but it was sounding further and further away. The Doctor slammed into the TARDIS door, opening them to get Derpy and the filly inside. He ran up to the console and slammed his hoof on to the large red button. The TARDIS started it’s temporal engines and began to transport into space.   The small unicorn filly lay unconscious in the medical room of the TARDIS, her coat and mane cleaned up by Derpy. Her breathing was shallow, but her signs were stable. The Doctor stood over her wondering how long she had been unconscious for and how long she had been living like that. ‘Is that why they call you the Doctor?’ came a voice behind him. He turned to see Derpy, fresh out of the shower to clean her face of all the tears she shed. ‘No…It’s because I want to help p0nies, but the Assistant sounded ridiculous.’ He said Derpy giggled, but her face dropped again ‘How is she?’ The Doctor walked out of the room, motioning for Derpy to follow. ‘Fairly malnourished, almost dehydrated. If it wasn’t for you, she wouldn’t be alive.’ ‘But…I didn’t—‘ ‘Derpy, I couldn’t protect her and deal with the soldiers at the same time. If He hadn’t turned up, I would have had to done something drastic.’ ‘Who were they?’ ‘Well from what the TARDIS can tell me, they are called “Human”. They come from a different dimension like we did. It seems those were bent on running the world.’ ‘But who was that one that saved us? You seemed to know him?’ ‘He is an old friend that I met for the first time.’ ‘What?’ The Doctor walked away to the bathroom, a smile on his face.   After his shower, the Doctor decided to cook dinner. It had been another long day for them and he needed to take his mind off everything. He walked into the kitchen to find Derpy wearing an apron and making a salad. ‘I thought since I was staying here, I might help cook.’ She said. He smiled and turned. ‘Thank you Muffin.’ The room went suddenly silent. Both knew that the Doctor had said what he did, and the tension was so thick, you could cut it with a sonic screwdriver. The Doctor slowly walked out the door, before running for his life. He returned a few minutes later, a shocked look on his face. ‘Doctor. Umm… about before?’ ‘Derpy, this isn’t the time.’ The Doctor said ‘The unicorn we tried to save…’ ‘Oh no…’ ‘No, She has gone missing.’
