AltG2 Infosheet   Original Proposal Setting Player Characters Advancement Accompanying NPCs Combat Flow Recommended Consumption Things to be avoided or not mentioned   AltG2 Original Proposal   AltG2 is a conceptual sequel/follow-up to the original AltG1 campaign. It is not intended to have any direct references to the original campaign, besides recurring characters, locations, and concepts present within the original campaign.   Setting -------         AltG2 is a fantasy land of magic, forgotten and resurrected technology, and strange creatures from beyond time and space. What remains of ancient cultures comes back as either dug up remnants, restored blueprint, or cultural concepts that return to public consciousness even after hundreds or thousands of years. The current world is split up into two major halves- the Western Continent, full of geographical differences, with a population of towns and cities separated by miles and connected by dirt roads or railroads. It is known for several large population centers- Ponyville, which somehow keeps a small-town feel despite being something of a agricultural metropolis, Hotbase, home of the Mountain Ogres and the Lava Titan Maltgromme, Coastropolis, a city spanning almost the entire east coast, Desura City, crown jewel of the Glass Desert and home of the Desert Stallyns, and the Frozen Fortress, home of Queen Starlight Glimmer and the polar bears, near the North Pole Palace. There are smaller towns and cities, as well, though those are the biggest dots on the map. To the south is a desert, and further south is a thick jungle, mostly uninhabited except for tribes of Jungle Ogres and other civilizations, seemingly untouched despite the many years...           The Eastern Continent is quite different, with a differently advanced civilization. The ancient magic in the land has been flowing regularly for millenia, imbuing the citizens with innate magical ability, and giving birth to the widespread use of magitech. There are many cities in small countries, though many of them are separated by mountains and outdated notions of nationalism. Further East, the Dark Countries await, full of unknown armies and terrors, such as in the Blackstone Mountain Range.           To the South of the Eastern Continent is the land known as Deathrika, almost completely populated by various breeds of ogres- Jungle Ogres, Desert Ogres, and Mountain Ogres, living in separate tribes, yet all answer to the mysterious King Bang, an ancient immortal from days long forgotten. They have somehow managed to keep ancient technology and techniques safe and in use, such as motor vehicles and ballistic firearms, but fortunately have never banded together, for their combined might could be enough to take over the Eastern Continent.   Player Characters ----------------- The rules for building PCs is as follows- 1. All characters must be young- they may have talents and cutie marks, but must be around the age of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, for reference. 2. PCs are limited to 3 Skill Points. Multiclass characters have 1 point to spend, but are allowed either of their multiclass skills. 3. The Summoner class is OK to use.   Advancement ----------- Throughout the game, characters have the opportunity to advance/empower themselves through several means- 1. Pet Monsters- buying the necessary equipment or learning the required spells will allow a character to capture and train monsters and creatures encountered on their adventures. Commanding these creatures is the same as controlling any normal Minion- 1 is the default, and more may be used by buying Pet Mastery. Players can OWN multiple pets, but can only ACTIVELY USE 1 or more at a time. 2. Class Crystals- There are certain archetypal embodiments of aspects such as the Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, or Bard that exist in this world. If they see fit, they may lend their power to the PCs, allowing them to gain their abilities and strengths as they wish. Class Crystals will allow a player to use the skills of a class, as well as roll bonuses to skills. 3. Artifacts- Within hidden caves, underground complexes full of monsters, and castles, there is an unusual abundance of devices and artifacts that will allow one certain strengths and abilities, or at least make them even better at doing them. Artifacts may be equipped to give the PC roll bonuses towards certain skills. 4. Guardian Spirits- Whether a manifested force of willpower, the result of equipping an artifact, or some bizarre catalyst, these mysterious spirits follow behind the one they are bound to, visible only to others that have these spirits, and only able to be harmed by others with spirits, as well as select weapons. Guardian Spirits are not guaranteed for each PC, though the possibility is present.   Miss Deathblossom 6/6 Thaumaturge Cutie Mark: Skull with Flower Petals Talent: Kiss of Doom- Selects 1 allied target. As long as the target has 1 wound, they gain +5 to all rolls. Racials: Tough, Earth Pony Way(Energy Orb) Skills: Master Caster, Heal, Energy Orb Description: Deathblossom(shortened to DB) is an adult mare teacher pony who works at Thunder Road Boarding Academy. She's an absent-minded, occasionally bubble-headed mare who is nevertheless capable of taking care of a full class of children. She's an optimist, and will regularly find the upside to a situation, or try to turn it into a learning experience for her beloved students. She has a white coat with a pinkish-purple mane, but prefers to dress in dresses with full length skirts, puffy shoulders, and comfy undies. She's trying to find a boyfriend, but that hasn't been going as well as she'd like it to.   AltG2 NPC Classmates   Fuzzlin Ironscales 5/5 Male Dark Knight Dragon-Sheep Talent: +1 when attacking with a Great Weapon Racials: Dragon Flight, Chromatic Scales(Stone/Metal), Bighorns Skills: Slam, Weapon Flurry Description: Fuzzlin is a short dragon-sheep, with white wool and black skin. His eyes are often hidden by his wool, though his large, ivory-white horns protrude magnificently. He has small, leathery black wings protruding from his back, and a short spiked tail. He gets excited and angry easily, often both at the same time, and may attack with little provocation. "Rarrgh! It's Fuzzlin time!"   Curly Cotton 5/5 Female Cleric Sheep Talent: Adorable may be rolled as an Instant action for an additional +1 Racials: Steel Wool, Adorable Skills: Heal, Mend, Compassion Description: Curly is a slender sheep with close-shorn wool, often wearing a blue cloak outside of the academy. Her wool is thick and light as a cloud, and her skin is a pearly, creamy white. She is friendly and compassionate, and is 'best friends' with Fuzzlin. She hopes to be in debate team once she's old enough. "It's not that I'm right, it's just that you can't say no to me!"   Silk Strings 5/5 Female Warlord Sheep Talent: Any roll bonuses granted by Silk Strings get an additional +1. Racials: Steel Wool, Flock Skills: Inspire, Inspiring Leadership Description: Silk Strings is the tallest of the three sheep, with excellent violin and operatic skills. Her wool is short, like Curly's, though longer on top of her head so that it can be styled upon. Her, Curly, and Fuzzlin have been friends for as long as they can remember. "Curly, Fuzz, and I have been friends forever! We're gonna get married when we get older!"   Gyorgi 5/6 Male Donkey Ranger Talent: DC for taking damage is increased by 1. Racials: Unbreakable Will, Pain Tolerance Skills: Survival, Supreme Survivor Description: Gyorgi is what anyone would call a beast of burden. Since birth, he's shown abnormal resilience to the weather, temperature, weight, and even pain. He's been trapped in rock slides, sunk to the bottom of the lake due to his inability to swim, and eaten things most goats would consider 'not great, could use some salt.' He's been considered dependable by others, and is able to easily carry up to ten times his body weight, but he will often choose not to, or reject such requests unless given something as compensation. He aims to become a banker when he grows up. "I'll pull the bus, but not for free."   Tiger's Eye 5/5 Female Saddle Arabian Omniseer Cutie Mark: Crystal Ball Talent: Using Spell Resonance gives a +2 to whatever spell was previously cast. Racials: Arabian Endurance, Purebred(Fourth Eye) Skills: Spell Resonance, Fourth Eye Description: Tiger's Eye is an exchange student from Ibergal, a friendly brown-coated filly. She enjoys fortune telling,  using a crystal ball. She enjoys theatrics, and hopes to continue being a fortune-teller as an adult. "Woo, let's see into the future... try again later."   Rad Hyperdrive 6/6 Male Earth Pony Smith Cutie Mark-Wrench with a lightning bolt through it. Talent- Turbo Charge: In combat, Sharpen has recharge 2, and can stack until a bonus goes to +3. Out of combat, can increase a weapon's bonus to +5, but it becomes a -3 weapon after the first roll. Racials: Tough, EP Way(Sharpen) Skills: Sharpen, Tinker, Appraise Description: Rad is a proud Equestrian native with a love for large weapons, explosions, and technology. He's loud and boisterous most of the time, and gets excited from seeing large weapons, explosions, and technology. His stature is strong and solid, like most Earth Ponies. His coat is white, and he has a red mane he refers to as his racing stripe. He  is usually wearing a blue and white striped bandana, along with sunglasses. When he grows up, he wants something to do something related to large weapons, explosions, and technology. "YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH!"   Gold Ring 5/5 Female Unicorn Lordblade Cutie Mark- Wax Seal Talent- Word of Power crits on an 8 and can be used on enemies and allies. Enemies who get critted on are paralyzed for the rest of combat, and Allies get +2 to roll next turn. Racials: Unicorn Catalyst/Telekinesis, Posh(Telekinesis) Skills: Word of Power, Lordblade Descripton: Gold(Goldie) is a young Unicorn, regularly attended on by her butler 'Machine Gun' Stryper. Her coat is a bright orange, her mane a flaxen gold, often wearing a ruffled collar, hair tied up with blue ribbons. She is slender and of middle height, and seems to be quite delicate. "Stryper, would you be a dear and clean these ruffians out?" ---Stryper 5/5 Diamond Dog Ranger ---Racials: Burrowing, Dextrous ---Skills: Supreme Survivor, Sentry, Custom Job, Hawkeye ---Description: Stryper is a matured Diamond Dog, servant for Gold Ring since her birth. He has a distinctive white mustache, as well as an eyepatch over his right eye. He's regularly dressed in a classy black coat, and seems to appear at Gold Ring's side like a ghost.
