>Twilight whispers from afar, still you can hear her as if she'd be standing right next to you ”Aaaaanooon...Aaaanooooooon...I want you...I want to feel you deep inside me.” >You wake up. >Dick harder than a diamond. >This kind of shitty dream...ever since Twilight and Gilda arrived three days ago you are having these weird dreams about that Sparkle mare. >Fuck. Literally. >You are already missing a good nights rest, hopefully this will stop soon. >You get up. >Shit. Shower. Shave. >A look out of the window reveals that you have mail, that or someone likes to flip that tiny mailbox flag on your mailbox, what would mean that Rainbow is outside, waiting to prank you. >You tend to believe that it's just mail. >You love mail! >Still in your bathrobe you get out and empty your mailbox. >Two letters. Zero pranks. >One of the letters is sealed with a heart sticker, you can't help but have to roll your eyes at that kinky stuff. >Back inside you waste no time to open the first one, the one with the heart. >The envelope has a subtle pink, you almost didn't notice that. >This is the most girly letter you've ever seen...it...is that...you sniff it...it is even perfumed! >You undo the sticker, careful not to rip anything, and take out the content. >A single page, also slightly pink. Everywhere are hand-drawn hearts and butterflies, a little too cutesy for your manly tastes, but whatever. >You read it. >When you are done you are sure that you infected yourself with diabeetus. >Almost the entire letter consists of exaggerated flattery and compliments, making you look like some knight in shining armor. >Which you are not. >You're just a dude being all swell and shit, if you would save the world you wouldn't even brag about it...okay, maybe to pick up girls, but there aren't any in Equestria as far as you know, only mares. >You are not that desperate yet. >It even states that the writer thinks you could wrestle a grown dragon and emerge victorious. >Okay, that is not flattery, that's a fact. >The only real content is at the bottom of it, this person/pony wants to meet you in three days, inviting you to a picnic on the far side of the river to the north-east. >Signed by an anonymous admirer. >Aaaaaalright...you are not interested in dicking small horses. >You toss the letter in a drawer, out of sight, out of mind. >Next letter. >This is a normal one, thank the heavens! >You open it and start reading. >... >Ffff-shit, what satanic language is this?! Dear Annon, I wuld like to met yer tudey avter sansat at- >Okay, you can't read this, it's melting your brain. >Off to the drawer with you, you little demonic abomination. >Next is...worst part of being stuck in Ponyville: the void. >You are not allowed to work, you get bits from the princess to cover your expenses. >At first you thought this would be great, but after just the first week you craved for any kind of activity. >It gets so boring that you started reading everything you could get your clutches on, Rainbow helping you out a great deal in lending you some Daring Do books since the library has been clos- “The library! Heck yeah!” >Rarity said that Twilight were the librarian! Now that she is back the library should be open again! >Minutes later, you're already on the way to the Golden Oaks Library. >Oh man, finally something else than Daring Do! >The first thing that you notice when the library comes into view are those dark purple crystals that are sprouting like little trees around the library tree. You haven't noticed them before. >You pay it no mind though. >They are tiny and you are here to see if the library is open for business, not to eyeball some crystals in a land where you can find all kinds of diamonds by digging for five minutes. >How does equestrian economy works anyway?! >You knock a few times on the door of the tree-house. >And wait. >It's about ten o'clock, they should be awake... >After a short while the door is opened by Gilda the griffon, she looks kinda grumpy and not all that happy to see you. >”What?!” she also sounds grumpy... “Eh, hi. Is Twilight Sparkle there? I have a small question about the library.” >Gilda looks around for a few seconds, then finally answer unsure “Uh, I guess. Follow me, and don't touch anything, I have my eyes on you...” her eyes narrow as she points a clawed finger in your direction. >She walks inside and you follow her. >The entire ground is covered with this black fog. The stuff seems to move on its own, not acting like one would expect from...well...fog. “What is this stuff anyway?” >Gilda doesn't even look at you as she answers “Twilight.” >As she says that, a misty tendril spirals up Gilda's left hindleg, only to dissipate half way up. >The bird-cat does not seem to notice. “What do you mean, Twilight? Is she controlling that mist?” >Twilight's voice answers from behind you “It's not mist Anonymous, it's shadow.” “Sha- woah.” >You turn around and find Twilight's head sticking out of the ground, you watch intent as her body slowly grows out of the shadow stuff until her form is complete up to her knees. >Then her smug facial expression is replaced with one of great effort as she begins to falter. >Gilda rushes to her side and supports the purple mare in the brink of a second. >”You have to go slow at it, Twilight.” >The purple mare relaxes in Gilda's arms “I'm sorry, I just wanted to impress my guest...with my new magi...” and dissipates into black mist again. >You cringe at this horrible sight, your eyes go wide and your jaw falls downward. “...i-is she dead?!” >Gilda avoids eye contact, one talon covers her face as she slowly shakes her head, her other talon goes to your shoulder as she walks depressed past you on two hindlegs “Guess you have to tell her friends the sad news now...” >Fuuuuuuuu... >After processing this you look down into your open palms, she is dead, why, she was so young, she had her entire life still ahead of her. >What about her family, her distant relatives, she will never read books again. >You didn't even knew her...Gilda must be joking... >Then you spot some movement past your hands, the black shadow carpet on the floor starts crawling up both of your legs in spirals. >You cannot feel it, but it still looks kinda creepy. You slightly move your right leg just a tiny bit and the attached shadowy tendrils vanish into thin air immediately. >When you stop they start growing again. The rusty gears in your head are grinding hard. >A big black clump of shadow starts growing right in front of you. >”Stop moving you dweeb, she's trying to show off.” >The shadow that works its way up your body seems to be targeted towards your outstretched hands, as it comes closer to your palms the clump grows, already it reaches up to your hip. >The dark twines twist around your forearms as they reach out to your open palms, then they make a jump into the big clump. The moment they touch it they cut their connection to the rest of the shadow at your legs. >For a second nothing happens. >Suddenly two big green eyes with crimson irises appear in the shadow clump before you, almost making you scream like a little schoolgirl, but still rustling your jimmies pretty hard. >They look to the ground, seemingly absorbed in something. >Slowly the clump forms into something you can recognize as something pony related, although only barely. >The shadow on your body is pulled into the dark body until you realize that you are holding the mares forehooves in your hands. >Her form continues to refine until it closely resembles a mares form, her eyes start looking around the place. Her body is still made of shadow and loses its form here and there on occasion, but it is unmistakably Twilight. >She looks past your shoulder at Gilda “Geez Gilda, don't scare our guest like this.” she almost sounds happy. >”He asked for you, so it's YOUR guest, not mine.” >The crimson eyes make a big roll “We both live here now, so-” she audibly exhales “Anyway, can I help you somehow, Anonymous?” >She catches you off-guard, you are still trying to comprehend what just happened. “Uhh...uhm. I...just...wanted to ask if the library is open again, you know, since you're back and all.” >”Oh, sure. Library is open again, anything else?” “What's with the body?” >She hisses inside “Yeeeah, about that. I was practicing black magic. Turns out that as much as going into this shadow form takes no effort at all, getting your body to materialize again takes a LOT.” she looks sheepishly to the side “It's much like learning to walk all over again, but I'm getting the hang of it quickly.” “You'll...be okay?” >”...yes.” >You look her in the eyes, with the green sclera and the red cat eyes she sure looks... >You notice that it becomes awkwardly silent as she stares back. >It really is fucking hard to read her if she has no actual body. “O-Okay. Then...I'll come back later...for a book or two...” >”Okay.” >You pull your arms back slowly, but her forehooves dissipate nonetheless, only to appear again where they should be naturally. >As you open the door and are halfway out you can hear Twilight talking to Gilda “Dammit Gilda, where's my horn again? I can't find it.” >The griffon starts snickering while you close the door. >Inhale. >Exhale. >Repeat. >Shit, this girl is so fucking scary... ~ >Later that day, home. >A knock at the door. >You open it, Rainbow Dash storms in, she hastily pushes you back a few steps and bangs your door shut. >With her back pressed against it she gasps for air a few moments before speaking. >”Anon! This is serious!” >Okay, this seems to be serious. “Did you find a dragon? I could totally help you get ri-” >She jumps right before you, stands up on her hindlegs and blocks your mouth with her hooves “Oh god, why are you so obsessed with dragons?! Damnit Anon, I said it's serious! Gilda is after me!” >You tell her you could totally take that griffon on, but with her hoof on your mouth it only ends in unintelligible gibberish. >”She wants to...” she takes a big gulp “...become friends again!” >You put her hooves down. “Pfuah, what the hell is so bad about that?!” >”You have no idea! She is super crazy! Egoistic, compulsive, unpredictable, sociopathic-” >This time you put a hand on her mouth. “First off, that sounds just like you, and seconds, where did you learn these words?!” >Dash's eyes scoot around the place and her ears lay back, then she dives right below your window, which is right next to your door of course. “What is-” >”I'm NOT HERE!” she frowns and her eyes widen. >Knock knock knock >Oh hell no. >A muffled Gilda yells through your door “Come on Dash, don't do this to me, we used to be cool! Open up!” >Her head pops up outside the window and her eyes fall upon you “Anonymous? Open the door, I saw her enter.” >You look to and fro between Rainbow and Gilda's face. >While Gilda looks like a mixture of annoyed and bored, Rainbow's face is stricken with pure horror, making gestures to strangle you and whatnot if you open the door and rat her out. >You just get to the door and open. “Sorry, she left through the backdoor.” >And make sure to stand in the door, crossing your arms. This will send the message. >Gilda gets on her hindlegs, she smacks both her talons left and right to your door, shaking the feeble walls of this shack you call your home dangerously. >She is bigger. >Than you. >Holy crap! >”Listen up, dweeb, I don't have time for your stupid, lame games.” her eyes narrow “I just want to have a talk with an old friend, and I would get very angry very quickly if somegriffon would hinder me from doing that.” her words are dripping with bile. “Are you always in such a bad mood?” >You lean against the door frame, intent on not betraying the pegasus that has taken cover just two steps to the side of you. >Gilda stares at you with the gaze of a hitman who spotted his next victim. >Something doesn't feel right...she seems...her look feels wrong. >You can't shake the feeling of danger as she stares you in the eyes, it feels uncomfortable, you want to shut the door, run away from her and hide forever. >You feel like she could kill you any second now. >You feel like prey... >...just from her glaring at you. >When you are certain that she is going to punch you in the face and disembowel you, she pushes herself off of your house and turns around, growling audibly. >She takes a few steps, then pounces into the air and takes flight. >You take a step back and close the door. >Something trickles down your forehead and you brush it off with the back of your hand, only to feel that you started sweating. >Phew, it's not even that hot in here. >She seems tough...maybe there are no dragons around, but a griffon could be an acceptable challenge to pass time... >Maybe you'll ask her later if she's interested in some sparring. >In the meantime, Dash is standing watch on your window, spying around for big bird-cats. “Dash, did I ever tell you that you have a fabulous taste in friends?”
