Miki route brainstorming Threads 1237 (RFM's deleted one), 1237, 1238   1237 (deleted):   >Miki route >deals with adapting to cripple condition, coming to terms, etc >Miki is still new to phantom limb pains >has to deal with Emi outshining her in everything and it's rubbed in her face by peers Yes, these things.   You'll notice in my Act 1 finale thingy that she fumbles around with her arm as if the hand was still there, and gets pissed off when she can't beat one of those hammer hit games at the festival.   --------   I think of Miki as having a spirit similar to Emi, but being more cynical and fed up with Emi's bubbly personality, not to mention jealous that Emi is a better performer on the track. I should stop posting could-be spoilers like this though. Will make it more boring to write if I ever do that.   --------   >Miki initially comes to Hisao because she remembers when she was the new kid   The story practically writes itself.   --------     1237:   I think the most important thing you would want to play up in a Miki route is the one difference that she has when compared to every other main girl; when Hisao enters Yamaku, all 5 of the main girls have, for the most part, learned to overcome their disabilities in various ways, in part simply due to how long they've lived with them.   Miki, on the other hand, is still attempting to cope with having a new disibility, much in parallel with Hisao. A route that emphasized that would definitely match well with the theme of the game and with Hisao as a character himself.   --------   I would also have it be a route where Hisao actually suffers in class as he spends a lot of time with Miki and part of them becoming friends was Mutou trying to get Miki's grades up with Hisao's help and it sort of backfires. I'd also play to both of them dealing with their new disabilities. Would need a scene where Hisao spends the night in Miki's room because she can't sleep since the phantom pains are so bad she feels like screaming. Hisao can either talk to her and she opens up about what happened when she lost her hand or accept her advances and you get a bonus h-scene, but it leads to a Neutral end where they grow apart without any emotional context with each other since Miki thinks all Hisao wants is sex.   --------   I liked the suggestion in here of making the route split at the first morning run, too (hit the snooze and miss Emi, but end up finding the Track club and Miki later on)   --------   Well, I agree with you that Emi would probably appear frequently in the route due to the obvious involvement with the track team, but it'd be very interesting to see her taken as a more antagonistic role, in the same vein of Shizune and Lilly in each others' routes.   --------   But holy hell would the second place thing be perfect for a route. I mean, just look at her face in the track scenes.   Not the fact that she's in second place. The fact that she's ALWAYS in second place, no matter how hard she tries. That she constantly gets showed up by a girl with no legs in track no less, the one thing that she really works for.   --------   Well, another thing you could work with is that since Miki is in the same class as Hisao, Shizune, and Misha and is actually social unlike Hanako, you could have plenty of interaction within that group in the classroom setting, then have Emi work as a form of antagonist/foil to Miki during the track scenes. That wouldn't require a new "best friend" figure like Suzu to be written as well just to get character interaction going.   --------   She'll definitely be more firey and direct than the other girls, but I can easily see it taken to the extreme based just on the kind of fanart she's always in.   She could have a really deep and conflicted character behind a confident exterior, or something along those lines. As long as that isn't overdone either and it turns into another white knight route.   --------   1238:   Dammit why do I always miss these discussions. I've had a general layout of how her route would work kicking around in my head for a good while.   Anyways I had always imagined her being a very "in the moment" type person, which draws Hisao in, serving as an escape from the issues he has with his own mortality. Her personality starts to rub off on him a little and they never really open up to each other about deeply personal things, even after they officially start dating.   As far as the sex goes I only picture 2 H-scenes, clashing with everyone's expectations. Miki is very flirtatious, constantly teasing and toying with Hisao but never letting him have a taste of the honey pot. During the last scene of act 3 they are studying together in her room and Miki begins teasing him as per-usual. Hisao ignores her at first but the longer he resists the more persistent she gets and her flirting turns into fullblown seduction. Hisao -- not being able to take it anymore -- pins her against the wall and they start making out. Things escalate quickly: articles of clothing are flying off, their breathing gets heavier and with each passing moment they increase their tempo.   Hisao -- being the master of romance he is, of course forgot to mention he has a heart condition. He begins to feel a slight pain in his chest but ignores it as he is taken over by an animialistic lust. After he finally climaxes he steps away to catch his breath, but he has already pushed himself too far and begins to have a heart attack. The last thing he sees before blacking out is Miki freaking out.       Act 4 begins with Hisao back in the hospital, waking up a few days later to see Miki at his bedside with bloodshot eyes and teartracks on her cheeks. He can only say her name before she slaps him and starts screaming every single bit of profanity she can muster at him for not only doing that to himself, but scaring the hell out of her.   The majority of the act is Hisao interacting with Miki and his classmates while he recovers (on a side note Suzu heard the commotion in Miki's room from across the hall, called the paramedics while Miki was freaking out and helped cleaned up the scene of the crime to cover up WHY Hisao had his heart attack.) As time goes on people start to visit him less and less, and soon Miki is the only regular visitor. If Hisao makes no effort to open up to her she starts to visit less and less, and spending less time with him. The final scene with her involves only an internal monologue and no dialogue aside from her telling Hisao "goodbye" at the end. It's only after she has left he realizes that he was given a second chance to fix the same mistake he had made with Iwanako, but blew it yet again.   On the good ending path he opens up to her, and eventually succeeds in getting her to open up as well. They help each other deal with their issues and continue to do so after he is released; Miki helps Hisao with his physical therapy and he helps her face her fears of an uncertain future.   The second H-scene takes place shortly before the last couple scenes.   Other than that I've got nothing.
