>You were wrong! >Holy crap you were wrong! >It's not even night and you are bored out of your mind. >Looking outside for the fortieth time, you sigh as the sun begins to dip below the buildings. >The moon begins raising above the buildings on the other side of town. >Maybe it's time to take a look around town, the only time you looked around was when you went to meet with Princess Celestia about enrolling into school. >While that was stressful, it was over quickly. >Something about how she needed to attend to something >The guards picked up for her, giving you directions to the school and where you will be staying... >But that was then >And this is now >And now you are bored >Looking outside, you grab your hoodie. >You were surprised mom was able to recreate a  hoodie with ease for you. >Grabbing your keys, you walk out the door into the night air. >Unsure of a direction to head in, you reach the street. >Left is toward the school. >Right is Twilight's parents place a bit down... >But if you head left, the market can be reached quicker >Deciding the market might be your best place for some sort of entertainment, you head toward the school. >Reaching the next street you take a right turn. >Many ponies just ignore your presence as if you were one of them... >A freakishly tall pony that walked on two legs....   >Strolling through the market place, several ponies tried to sell their goods to you. >But none of it caught your attention. >”Watch in awe as the great and powerful Trixie performs the most spectacular feats of magic ever witnessed by pony eyes!” >Your attention has been caught. >As you walk towards where you heard the sound, you turn a corner to find a small wagon with lights shooting out of it almost like fireworks. >A small crowd of ponies have gathered around as this 'Trixie' begins putting on a show. >You watch in awe in the back as lights fire off, items appear from thin air and she pretends to saw a pony in half. >It was amazing watching this as she used real magic for almost everything, very little was meant to trick the eye. >The way she kept referring to herself as 'great and powerful' got annoying but you looked past it and enjoyed the show she put on. >After an hour of watching the magic show you decide to head back home. >Not the most entertaining day but it was an okay end to it. >Getting inside you crash quickly as your thoughts drift to home and how your griffon mother and father are doing.   >Rising from your slumber, you let out a big yawn as you turn your gaze to the clock >It's noon “Holy shit... I wasn't even out that late...” you mutter to yourself >Rubbing your eyes, you go through your morning routine. >While eating your breakfast which consists of buttered toast, you drift your eyes towards the magic book you checked out from the library. >You never really got a chance to check out the library, you arrived during closing and quickly pulled something out. >Thankfully they didn't make a fuss about it. >Rather nice people these.... ponies. >Maybe it's time to have a better look at that library. >Liking your plan, you quickly head out into the sunny day. >Is it ever cloudy or rainy here? >Pushing thoughts aside, you head into the library. >Greeting the librarian who is filing books away, you get directions toward the magic isle again. >Up the stairs and to the left! >Climbing the stairs, you take in the libraries design. >Big glass windows to provide light and a view over a giant field. >Bookshelves that go up to the ceiling. >Wasting no time in finding books, you quickly become overwhelmed. “So many books... on magic,” you comment quietly >You waste no time picking books off the shelves.   >The big magic book of magic. >M-A-G-I-C Spells magic. >My special unicorn magic. >Magic, the other mystical force. >Starswirl the Bearded's Big Tome of Pleasuring Mares With Magic “Wait...” >Taking a look at the last one you shake your head putting it back. >Grabbing your small pile of books, you head to a nearby table and get comfortable >Deciding to start with 'The Big Magic Book of Magic,” you flip it open >You find the pages to be like the cardboard in those childrens books when you were little. >”Friendship is magic,” are the first words you read. >Closing the book you set it aside in its own little pile titled “Not today” >Next book. >'M-A-G-I-C Spells Magic' >You have a feeling you should set it aside, but you give it the benefit of the doubt... and set it back in the pile to check later. >'My Special Unicorn Magic' is the next book. >Examining it before you open it, you check everything. >It seems to be a fairly large book, real pages.... maybe a winner? >Opening it, you read a few words to find it's a real book... but not the type of book you are looking for... >Sighing, you set it to the side, something to read for entertainment might be nice. >'Magic, The Other Mystical Force' >Doing a quick skim, you find it's a lot like the book you checked out earlier. >You're not sure on the date, but it seems to be in good condition, worth giving it a shot. >Picking up 'M-A-G-I-C Spells Magic' you flip it open. >Spells after spells are printed onto the pages. >You're amazed at just how many there are as you begin reading. >Soon you have the book laid down on the table with you hunched over it like it's your child. >A strange child with no soul, but it's filled with a wealth’s of information regarding something you are interested in.   >The only time you lift your head is when a white pony steps into the sunlight, causing her to glow brightly catching your attention. >Rubbing your eyes you try to see who it is. >”Now where is she?” a soft motherly voice which you recognize instantly. “Princess Celestia?” >Rubbing your eyes, they adjust to the light shining off of the Princess. >”Oh Anonymous, I was just looking for my student, Twilight Sparkle.” “She left yesterday to spend the weekend in Ponyville.” >The Princess lets out a small sigh, but holds her smile. >”I was sure she should have been here, but I suppose I should have asked her brother, Shining Armor, first.” >She gazes over you and the books on the tables. >”We never really got a chance to talk, did we Anonymous?” >Panic starts going through your head. >'Oh god... what am I wearing?' >'I smell nice right?' >'Please don't eat me!' >'Wait....student? Twilight?' >She smiles as you begin putting the books in neat piles. “Uh no, we didn't, but that’s alright. I understand your position of power.” >She gives you a funny look as she sits down. >”So you understand politics?” She asks with a smile >'Oh fuck Anonymous BAIL.' you mind trying to cause more panic “I, uh- well not entirely, I just meant you being a Princess and all-” Princess Celestia interrupts you >”Anonymous, relax.” she says in a calming voice. >”I hope the accommodations provided to you have been satisfying.” “They are great, thank you. I also want to thank you for giving me a chance to enroll in your school.” >”It is my pleasure Anonymous.” >You find yourself somewhat stunned by those words but do a very good job at keeping your reaction contained.     >”Just because the school is for gifted unicorns, that does not mean other magic users cannot enroll. I hope you don't mind, but I requested a copy of all of your grades and reports. After all, you are the first non-unicorn to enroll in my school. It should prove to be quite the learning experience for us both.” “I, uh- no, that’s fine.” >You find the air oddly calming around the Princess as she launches another question. >”Have you and my student been getting along?” “Twilight? As in the purple unicorn that’s in my class?” >She just nods her head. “Uh, yeah, guess we get along fine, she's taught me more about magic than I've learned since even finding out I could do magic.” >”I see. So would the two of you consider yourselves friends then?”   >Confused, you nod your head, which only causes Celestia to smile back. >”Since I'm here, why don't you tell me about yourself Anonymous? If you don't mind, of course.” >Her smile holds as you begin recalling various bits of information about yourself. “Well, I'm a bit of a merchant and hunter back home, I help my mom and sister buy and sell various things. If father is sick, I grab my crossbow and a few traps before leaving into the forest. I'm
Insert age here
years old, I guess my most recent interest is magic now, seeing as to how it's all I really want to learn about.” >”And what would you like to learn about magic?” “I guess everything, I want to learn how to hurl fireballs, bring lightning down from the sky and such. I watched Twilight teleport, I want to learn how to do that too. I skimmed over magic runes, I want to enchant my own item just because I can... I guess I want to learn everything I can, until I hit a wall.” >Celestia's expression changed when you mentioned fireballs and lightning but returned to normal as you finished. >Princess Celestia titters a bit >”You remind me of Twilight when I took her in as my student.” >She looks out the window as if she's watching an old memory play in her head. >”Don't give up Anonymous. I'm sorry to cut this short once again, but it seems something has come up.” Princess Celestia turns to the entrance of the library where 4 guards have entered the building. >Standing up, you hear a small sigh as they start to walk up. >”Princess,” The first guard does a small bow before looking back up, “A small shipment of dragon eggs have arrived.” >Celestia's ears perk up as she looks back at you.     >”Anonymous, have you taken the entry exam?” “No I haven't, I only just heard about it yesterday.” >”Would you mind taking it? I'm curious at how it would react to someone that’s not a unicorn.” “I have no problem with that, I'm free right now.” >The guard ponies just look between you and Celestia, confused. >”No, that is quite alright, please enjoy your weekend, I will send word when we are ready. Hopefully we will have another chance to talk some more soon. Goodbye Anonymous.” “Goodbye Princess Celestia.” >Before she begins walking out, she turns back to you >”No need for formalities Anonymous, just Celestia is fine.” she says with a light chuckle “Right, Goodbye Celestia.” >She smiles again as the guard form around her, walking with her out the door.   >You're left in kind of an odd spot, you always heard tales of how royalty acts, especially the griffon king. >The one time you met him, it sent shivers down your spine; his gravely voice, how he barked at others for no reason. >But Celestia just sat down and wanted to learn more about you... >The griffon king just wanted to know if you can work... >Bah, he's just a king who keeps trying to pick fights with the minotaurs. >No backbone, just uses his position to intimidate people. >Agreeing your 'king' is shit, you move on and begin reading the spells book again. >You're amazed at just the amount of effort they put into explaining each spell. >They even went as far as to explain how powerful magic was itself. >Reading the light spell, you notice you were doing it wrong. >You were focusing magic in a small ball which caused it to react in a small light. >But to effectively cast light, you need to use the elements themselves, rolling them around together. In doing so, you can create a light source with little effort that will last thirty minutes without any magical input. >This book is a must-have. >Grabbing it and the other two books you go check them out before returning home. >The rest of your weekend is spent reading and practicing magic.
