(Weapons)   Ponykind: Ponies aren't master of the art of war, far from it, The only war that the ponies have faced was almost a thousand years ago when earth ponies, unicorns and pegasi were still divided in their own factions and in conflict amongst each other. They have long since laid down their coats of arms and weapons and due to their commonly pacifist nature have sort of stopped researching designs to more effectively fit a pony, often resulting in old or borrowed technology and designs mainly to pursue the ways of magic, druidism and harmony. This however does not mean ponykind is defenseless in a fight, a pony enlisted in a military branch is usually a heavily armored resourceful and determined soldier not to be underestimated.     The most common type of weapon are usually strapped to their bodies, things that have poise in mind other than anything else, but weapons such as a rapier, glaive or a spear aren't unheard of either, albeit mostly issued to pegasi, or used as formal ceremony weapons rarely used in combat.   Melee:   War gauntlets A very versatile weapon that is almost trademark of ponykind alongside the tail flail, it can come in studded or plated form to adapt to an armor set or to be concealed. A war gauntlet is basically a reinforced boot or high boot made of steel that is strapped to one's forehooves, nothing too fancy or slick and is typically, but not always, part of an armor rather than a standalone weapon, the most notorious example being the royal armor having a pair of gilded war gauntlets by default. while pony hooves on their own are usually deadly as is someone must have thought that applying a bit of reinforcements wouldn't be too much of an overkill.   Damage: 1d6 bludgeoning   War claws Similar to the war gauntlets but fitted with several hooked spikes on the front of the boot in a style reminiscent of a short steel claw, this weapon is only used during war time or when the non-lethal option has been discarded,  typically fitted to pegasi as they can be very awkward to walk around with.   Damage: 1d6 slashing   Wing blades Just as the name implies, this is a pair of steel blades that are strapped along the wing bones with a single joint to allow the wings to retract or extend, the edges are very sharp and can effortlessly decapitate a pony when sharpened properly which also makes for decent enough wing armor. Although this usually comes at a cost of maneuverability as odd and excessively sharp movements can end in nasty cuts and sprained wings.   Tail flail (light) Light tail flails don't usually go further than being subtle but thick steel or silver rods hidden under your tail fur, it is surprisingly nimble especially for puffy tailed ponies. Its combat style tends to involve a lot of quick spinning and baiting of attacks due to the placement making it a sort of backup weapon most of the time.   Tail flail (heavy) A heavier, bigger and less subtle version of a tail flail. It has the same concept has its light brother only that it has a small spiked  mace head or a small wrecking ball of steel at its end, it puts slightly more stress on the tail making it slightly painful and awkward to swing but it usually pays off by being quite devastating. Another weapon that is rarely used outside of the military branch both due to its tendency to kill rather than stun and its unwieldy nature.   Horn spike The horn spike is typically a steel spike made of plates forged as a feature on the top of an helmet sometimes made specifically to fit around the horn of a unicorn, although can also come in more crude forms that simply give the tip a more pointy edge,  does not necessarily have to be exclusive to a unicorn either as it only needs to be set on a helmet. it does not interfere with spellcasting at all and not only gives protection but turns the appendage into an almost too efficient charge weapon that could rival a charge lance.   Charge lance Very similar to something you'd see in a knight tournament, the charge lance is a somewhat bulkier and elongated spear with a round wooden shaft and a pointed steel tip, very long, very unwieldy and honestly ancient and not very efficient in concept.  It is often strapped to one's side which makes for a DEADLY charging tool that can impale opponents or knock them aside given enough strength in the blow... Its a solid weapon which as its uses, but is often ditched after a charge in place of quicker weapons. Its use is mainly ceremonial or for tournaments more than actual battle.   Partisan A partisan (also partizan) is a type of polearm that was mainly adopted by the kingdom of gryphonia as a standard issue weapon for the king's guard, It consisted of a spearhead mounted on a long shaft, usually wooden, with protrusions on the sides which aided in parrying sword thrusts, Like the halberd. The head of a partisan may look similar to that of a ranseur or a spetum, however, unlike a ranseur, the lower parts of the head have a sharpened edge. this was quickly adopted by the pegasus empire shortly after, and is still issued to the majority of royal guards and vanguards to this day.   Spear The spear is a polearm with a long shaft - typically made of wood - that is almost as long as a pony and roughly one head taller with a broad, pointed steel tip as its cap. very traditional and agile weapon, surprisingly common even if it takes poise and some training to use as it needs to be held with the crook of the hoof for the most part while keeping the other three free to move, it is adopted almost everywhere in equestria in various forms of colors and styles.   Short spear A spear with a considerably shortened pole, its the size of a longsword only its a spear, making it all the much more nimble despite its now lack of range whilst retaining most of its effectiveness, spears are generally not very comfortable in the hooves of ponies but this version normally only requires some training to use properly even for non-pegasi. It is also cheap to produce and makes for a decent enough javelin.   Club This is the nightstick of ponykind's law enforcement, or a stick you find on the ground. A club is the most basic of weapons, you'll find it everywhere, literally,  generally just an overly large bat made exclusively to bash heads in without requiring any particular getting used to.   Rapier The rapier is a sword that typically has a thin needle shaped blade with a broad and spherical hoof guard that fully envelops the hoof wielding it, a very light, reliable, cheap and nimble weapon. it a sign of status among officers and adventurers alike and is very commonly used in ceremonies.     Shield (buckler)   Shield (heavy)   Shield (light)   Ranged (common):   Crossbow (Hoof)   Crossbow (repeater)   Crossbow (light)   Crossbow (Heavy)   Sling   (Armor)     Armor sets   Padded clothing (body + legs)   Leather armor (body + legs)   Studded leather armor (body + legs)   Chain shirt (Body)   Hide armor (body + legs)   Scale mail (Body + legs)   Chain mail (Body + legs)   Cuirass (Body)   Half plate armor (Body + legs)   Full plate armor (Body + legs + head)   Royal sun guard armor (Body + head) A set of brightly gilded half plate armor with a topaz star emblazoned on their chestplate as its coat of arms, a blue mane on the helmets along with a blue and white edged cloth that starts from a raised plate (that looks suspiciously like a small saddle) over their backs, goes along the sides and ends around the tail and rump.   The armor of the equestrian sun guard, lightly armored and armed compared to other countries, but Vigorously trained, loyal, extremely motivated and determined. these ponies serve as the backbone of the armies of Equestria and also act as glorified military police around the country, they take the oath "To serve and protect" very seriously. it does not come with leggings however, and is relatively light compared to whats issued to most foreign departments of this caliber, their focus being speed and agility rather than offensive capabilities, it does come with a pair of sleek gilded long boot war gauntlets however, war claws on some more "special" occasions.   Royal moon guard armor (Body + head) A set of adamantine midnight blue half plate armor, the design is very similar to that of the sun guard but uses much rarer materials and has a tear shaped pearl on its chestplate rather than a blue star, a purple membrane-like mane on the helmet. No leggings,  sturdy war gauntlet long boots by default and an uncanny magical defense at the cost of slightly increased weight.   Not many ponies have the chance to enlist in the moon guard, members of this detachment are hoof picked by the princess herself and are fitted with the best equipment the armory can provide, when the sun guard sleeps they patrol the streets with watchful slitted eyes, almost all the ponies in this department are natural bat ponies the only known ones in existence even making a statement for how many of them are actually in service, almost every single one is a talented high ranking officer or knight. their purpose is mainly a contingency against particularly dangerous threats against ponykind, but even then, they are rarely employed in a fight thanks to the elements of harmony, as loosing even one of the ponies would be a huge blow to Equestria's military, if you spot one of them rushing somewhere there is something seriously wrong going down let alone a squad.   Equestrian Vanguard armor (Body + legs + head)   Head:   Metal cap   Hat   Legs   Leather bracers   Steel bracers
