You know how someone can be given an outright advantage or handicap, win, and then  behave arrogantly as if they did it all? Kinda like that.
 
They exist within a broader dissident right constellation where nobody is going to seriously try them or test their beliefs, came away from this thinking they've got it all and need no further justification. That everyone else has to prove things to them (meme of Dennis throwing away macaroni). So they predictably become sanctimonious and contribute nothing at the same time. Just presiding in judgment while riding the coattails
