Well I guess we can undo ethnocetrism then? Even though political views were what we were talking about? Find me a way. It's also based off of minnesota twin data, perhaps not the best since Minnesota isnt very diverse so it is an environment where in-group out-group dynamics dont matter
 
I guess you could say diversity is an environmental factor, but so is homogeneity. It's messy I know but really we'd need to study both since this is a trait which is switched on by exposure to an outgroup (which is when it would be relevant), but is only switched off when there's no need for it rather than trained away (magnets on the brain notwithstanding . The environmentality only seems to go one direction on the macro scale, to On. And I ascribe direction to it because ethnocentrism most matters with the outgroup around
 
 But the demographics of Minnesota did change in the decades preceding so maybe exposure to diversity is the environmentality
