The thing with trads, beyond the emptiness of their label, it leading to circular conversations amongst people with no accountability, and often just being signalling. Beyond even what they do... well we've seen social conservatives get absolutely demolished by the left, and now that a dissident right group is seeing some success on social issues against them... soccons think this isnt enough and want to lecture or gatekeep when there is no reason to listen to them even if you agree. Winning matters, and to a large extent I think they divest attention. Humility and showing the way rather than arrogant hectoring is the correct approach
 
And based on their behavior online I think I know why, and it sadly underlies their rage against modernity. They dont want to make material or secular arguments, or even engage in a battle of ideas, they want to appeal to either tradition or religion and have that be the end of it. I agree I'd prefer a society where that was the case, but it isn't and it is irresponsible to not do this on its own and present yourself as an arbiter as well.
 
Libertarians are dead because they purged racists and by doing so put progressives in charge of gatekeeping by precedent and by basically handing them the levers of power abstractly. That killed them.
