Difference between Candidgate and Enochgate
 
There are superficial similarities, most glaringly that the defensive party called it "purity spiraling" but beyond that there are deep differences.
 
1) Most importantly: Candidgate had people saying things they didnt believe because of their personal lives (but really professional lives since it was a sponsorship) and continuously lying. Enoch did not let his personal life stop him from talking about the JQ and merely didnt confide in everyone about his personal life (regardless of whether you think he should have or not, he did not HAVE to do so)
 
2) Candidgate isnt really purity spiraling in the way Enochgate could be called purity spiraling. It was about people continuously violating their principles and knowingly doing so despite having big patreons with donations. It was purely material lust. Enochgate was people attacking someone for something from 10 years ago, before he was ever wise to the issues they were.
