>well, that was just uncomfortable. >Luna and Chrysalis seemed to enjoy the movie as much as the next viewer, but for whatever reason Celestia kept looking back at you with a look of worry on her face at the more generally disturbing scenes, and gave you a nurturing pat on the face after Bateman's end confession. >she probably thinks you're a little disturbed. >doesn't matter. Next time you'll just have to go to the park together and feed ducks or something. >you're halfway through some kind of sandwich at the moment. >it's more or less your half-assed attempt at a proper dinner. >but you just can't focus on it with Celestia staring up at you like that. >all... concerned looking. >you swallow your current mouthful of something-or-other and finally look to the princess. "Is something wrong?" >"Honestly, no," she replies. "Just doing some figuring." >you look back to your sandwich. >look at that subtle ivory texture. >the tasty fullness of it. >it's really not that good, to be honest. >you dump this mediocre chunk of sustenance into the trash can and decide to retire to your bed. >as you walk to your room, you hear a throat being cleared loudly. >you look over to Celestia. >you forgot to take her with you. "Sorry about that." >you lift her off the table in one gracious swoop and carry her back to your room. >you had offered to stack a few tissues to make an improvised mattress, but your guests claimed to have no problem with the same terms as last night. >Chrysalis was really already passed out in your ear canal when you had the conversation. >you can hear her little heart beating ever so faintly as you put Celestia next to Luna on your nightstand. >lie down on your bed. >extend an arm to your nightstand invitingly. >the sisters drowsily use your arm as a bridge and walk onto your chest area. >they each find a spot to sleep. >Celestia chooses to sleep on the wide end of your necktie, while Luna clambers onto your chin and shrinks a little so she can fit her whole self onto it. >you're sure she'll be fine. >she's probably there for your nasal exhaust, using it as an air conditioner of sorts. >it's really hard not to reach out and pet her like a kitten. >at this point, it's almost mandatory that you don't, lest you accidentally break her spine with a fingertip that obscures her entirely. >so delicate... >so... very... >...dark. >you're somewhere dark now. >a low ceiling forces you to crouch, despite the fact you were lying down before. >you hear a thumping from inside the wall nearby. >with each thump, you feel a tiny stab at the inside of your right cheek. >you swallow, and immediately you are pushed into the floor by the ceiling as a wave of water rushes over you. >the very wet floor. >this is weird. >you tilt your tongue so that you slide over to an area beyond your gums, and hear the thumping get louder, until you hear a voice. >"Anonymous! If you can hear me, bite down on your cheek!" >strange request. >strange scenario. >you comply anyway, and feel a sensation similar to that of popping a pimple on the inside of your mouth, while simultaneously hearing a noise like an explosion and feeling the wall ripple around you. >this really fucking hurts. >you reach up to press the pained area, only to find that your jaw is missing. >some real David Cronenberg-type shit going on here. >you feel liquid running out of the wall, and simultaneously feel your cheek bleeding. >you resist the urge to probe the area, and give a slurry whisper. "Hoozere?" >"Your best friend," says a voice behind you. >you turn around to see two golden shining eyes staring down at you. >you gasp, and end up throwing yourself onto the back of your tongue. >you notice you taste disgusting, and bite down on your tongue to keep from erratic movement. >the owner of the eyes was also thrown, hanging off of your uvula. >you feel a light discomfort at the back of your throat >"Careful, Anon!" she says. "You may have lived your whole life in this body, but you are in no way prepared to reside in it, you know!" >she looks a lot like Chrysalis. >a relative, maybe? >is her entire family coming to Anonymous town? >right now she seems to be illuminating the entire area with her golden abdomen. >you think if you were to open your mouth right now you would look sorta like a Japanese movie monster. >"I understand you're not in much of a position to talk at the moment," the changeling says, climbing up your uvula. "But I thought you ought to know beforehand that I was here." >you stifle a gag as she slips and kicks at your uvula by mistake. >"Sorry..." >finally, she gets to the roof of your mouth and drops down in front of you, making your tongue jerk a bit. >she clears her throat. "In fact, I've actually been here for quite a while, you know." >she tastes strange. Happy. >is this what it's like to taste emotions? >"Yes, Anonymous. Your entire life, you've had a silent companion living in your body, you know. Right about..." she puts her hand to her chin and examines you. After a while, she pokes you in your cranium. "...There. That seems about right." >her hand wraps around your head. >it's much softer than it looks. Just a lot more... rubbery. It makes a sort of squeaking noise against your scalp as it spreads outward. >"Yes, that's exactly where I live. Technically, you live there too, you know," she says, pulling her hand away. "Your mind has brought me and my sisters countless luxuries in the past. A lot of us came from it, you know." >you figured. >your jaw is getting tired, despite not being physically connected to your body. >"It really is a shame that you could never hear us, you know," she continues. "All the insight we provided never really went through, you know." >maybe you should keep a more open mind. >"Yes! Yes, that's it!" she shouts, pointing at your forehead. >so you've had someone reading your thoughts since childhood- >"No, no, no, Anonymous!" the changeling corrects. "Many of us have been reading you. Changeling inter-telepathy is a very quick signal, you know." >so they really are changelings. >the changeling nods rapidly and enthusiastically. >how did they get inside your head? >"We needed- I needed a home," she begins. "I found one. You let a strange little insect crawl around on your face before going to sleep one night, you know." >insects. >you've had insects living in your head. >"HELPFUL insects!" she lifts you up by the shirt, still smiling. You pray this is just for emphasis. "It is! And we purged all those undesirable memories for you, you know! Put them in a jar and locked them in a safe! Remember?" >you don't. >"EXACTLY!" she lets go of you. "Don't try to, though. They might be locked up but the safe is still somewhere in your brain and if you think hard enough you might get someone electrocuted, you know." >alright then, you're waiting for a train and all that. >"That's where we got the idea from, you know." >you know. >"That's the spirit!" the changeling says, giving you a friendly fist to the face. "Oh, it's so wonderful I can finally talk to you, Anonymous! This head of yours is always so lively, you know. I've been trying to project you into our hometown for so long, but surely this is more than acceptable. I hope we'll all get to see you soon- and perhaps you can bring your new friends if they want to come as well. It's been so long since I've seen dear mother." >she turns around and goes to the back of your tongue, placing her pedal claws on either side of the little fold in the middle. >you can't hold your teeth together for much longer. >"Oh," she says, once more intrigued. She looks back to you. "You don't mind if I just go down to your acids for a quick bath, do you? I'm sorry- we've been doing it for years and never once thought to ask. The walls of your face never really could get the filth out of our shells, you know." >go ahead. >the changeling backs up to get a running start, and sprints towards the abyss. >you decide this is a prompt for you to give her a good spring, and release your tongue as she reaches the end of her excursion. >she either expected that or went along with it, as she quickly folds into a cannonball after the release and disappears into the void with a pressing of muscles. >the light dies. >you return to reality. >that was nice. >that was really surprisingly pleasant. >at least compared to your other dreams.
